442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why I hate BITCOIN on: October 21, 2017, 01:14:05 PM
I was asked by a friend why I don't promote Bitcoin { why i hated it} but love promoting altcoins. My reply was that Bitcoin can't give me 1000-5000% ROI in 2-3years time anymore but with altcoin that is possible.

I notice that each time I promote Bitcoin, I'm giving the early investors easy passive income why I settle for chicken gain.

Honestly I will prefer $50,000 in altcoins (with possible potential, underpriced and undervalued) than in Bitcoin.

Do you hate Bitcoin? Give reasons why you do or don't
I think to hate bitcoin for me is not there at all because until this moment I still get a profit that I think is very meaningful for me. but for the reason why you hate bitcoin I think you are less in analyzing about the advantages and disadvantages in bitcoin
443  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: bitcoin ilegal di indonesia? on: October 19, 2017, 02:13:13 PM

446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why some country still not legalized bitcoin ? on: October 18, 2017, 01:26:30 AM
I seen some big country started to legalized bitcoin like japan, but i seen some country was ban bitcoin too just like what i hear about south korean and issues about russian will ban bitcoin in next month.
But why they ban bitcoin and some country still not make bitcoin legal in that country ?
maybe I think in my country the government still keeps the currency stability of my country that applies because many factors may be one of his less understood citizens about bitcoin currency or technology that is growing or my country may be afraid of inflation big scale
447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminality and Bitcoin on: October 18, 2017, 01:19:54 AM
https://www.deepdotweb.com/2016/01/23/bitcoin-playing-an-increased-role-in-crime-europol-says/

Would you believe that the existence of bitcoin has increased the number of criminality in  some countries in the world. This is the issue that was being thrown by the EuroPol and the UK Metropolitan Police. According to them bitcoin has played a huge role on the increasing criminality in their area. They added that a huge number of cybercriminals were using bitcoins in their activities.

This just shows that as bitcoin develops both advantages and disadvantages will tag along.
I am less so know about the criminality that occurred due to bitcoin, but I think there must be criminality that occurs because every cyber scope like this criminality will also develop along with technological advances or I'm sure of bitcoin there must be a system that can prevent the incoming criminality into it

450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep buying? on: October 18, 2017, 01:00:27 AM
In fact, I have started buying 3 days ago... small amounts monthly. All my BTC before were earned, but want to get more as I realized its potential to go up.
to keep buying I think, I have to see and analyze whether my purchase price with the selling price is profitable but on the basis of it I bought bitcoin when its price decreased and I will sell it when price increase which if it can be profitable
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in College??? on: October 17, 2017, 12:59:27 AM
Bitcoin as a course or any related currency on web.
In my country we have multiple courses in computer especially programing and web developments. My course is also information technology, but i've never heard or learn about online currency as bitcoin. In present, and future studies is there any chances for inserting about it in education. In your country is it available?
It would be better for any country to adopt bitcoin in educating new generations. Instead of playing games and wasting money in surfing xxx sites.
for my country bitcoin learning program I do not think is in the curriculum right now, but is it possible the government can formalize bitcoin as an official education while its financial value or income exceeds the general income of the country's income figure, even if there is education for bitcoin my country will be more growing rapidly in the field of information and technology
452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: October 17, 2017, 12:39:52 AM
Bitcoin is something radically new. Nothing like Bitcoin has been possible until now. I would go so far as to consider it sui generis; "in its own class".  This makes it important to understand what Bitcoin actually is before we try to describe it to others.

We're getting a good handle on the code, and of course on Bitcoin's function and utility, but what words should we use to describe Bitcoin itself? There has been some debate in other threads [mostly my doing] over how it is like/not like money, cash, dollars, etc. I'd like to start this thread by focusing on the term "money", and play Devil's avocate by asking for your best arguments that Bitcoin IS money.

My legal dictionary states "In usual and ordinary acceptation it [money] means gold, silver, or paper money, used as circulating medium of exchange, and does not embrace notes, bonds, evidences of debt, or other personal or real estate." [cites omitted]

Wikipedia says "Money is any object that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts in a given country or socio-economic context. The main functions of money are distinguished as: a medium of exchange; a unit of account; a store of value; and, occasionally, a standard of deferred payment." [cited omitted]

Webster's Online Dictionary defines money as:
    • 1. The most common medium of exchange; functions as legal tender; "we tried to collect the money he owed us".
    • 2. Wealth reckoned in terms of money; "all his money is in real estate".
    • 3. The official currency issued by a government or national bank; "he changed his money into francs".
    • 4. A piece of metal, as gold, silver, copper, etc., coined, or stamped, and issued by the sovereign authority as a medium of exchange in financial transactions between citizens and with government; also, any number of such pieces; coin.
    • 5. Any written or stamped promise, certificate, or order, as a government note, a bank note, a certificate of deposit, etc., which is payable in standard coined money and is lawfully current in lieu of it; in a comprehensive sense, any currency usually and lawfully employed in buying and selling.
    • 6. In general, wealth; property; as, he has much money in land, or in stocks; to make, or lose, money.
    [links omitted]
    [/list]

I maintain that per these definitions, Bitcoin cannot possibly be described as "money". And further, I think that those who do describe Bitcoin as "money" are doing this community a disservice.

But that is just my point of view. Are there any that can convincingly argue otherwise, that Bitcoin IS money?

for my country today the real money that is still enforced legitimately, maybe I think bitcoin, gold, is a place or means for investment or other words is a place to save with interest income faster and larger, but still a legitimate payment in my country still using the official currency of the government
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you keep your bitcoins? on: October 17, 2017, 12:19:31 AM
I have all my coins in on an online trading site (paxful) (low volume)

I plan on making a large investment very soon, and want to safely store all of my coins
I.E I basically want to drop a couple thousand, and keep them in the safest possible way, where I can revisit them in 5-10 years or so and reap the benefits, or cry about the loss.

What is the best way to do this, and what's the best way of ensuring a backup?

How do you currently store your coins

thanks in advance for any inputs

to deposit my coins through online I think is very risky so in my opinion.we should be able to see the price of our coins if our coins are already in a favorable state should we exchange what we sell with the currency that applies in our country if in my opinion

460  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Apa yang menentukan harga bitcoin? on: October 07, 2017, 05:39:58 PM
