6950 is the best miner. I use a pair of them unlocked to 6970 shaders and OC'd 920 core w/ +20% power and get ~750mh/s total. Not bad seeing as I built this as a gaming rig and just recently found BTC.
Is it the best though ? What was the cost for this? 2 x 5850's get just over 700HM/sec as well... at maybe 1/2 the cost!

-w is the worksize and as far as I know related to the memory.
you should try
-w128 -w192 -w256
and see which works best for you.
I have found that -v -w256 seems to work best on cards with unclocked memory.

I think you might struggle to find a "Cheap" Case to fit this all in.
You might be better off running case less.
If you have to put it in a case then you'll probably be able to fit it in a Corsair 650D or an 800D

That's good to hear.
I am thinking about adding a 0.5 BTC bonus to the finder of each block, what do people think about that ?
|
|
|

We are still offering a 5 BTC bonus at our pool, which should be a nice incentive for newbies

THE 5 BTC Bonus is still available!

Glad it helped. A shameless plug: We are giving away a 5BTC Bonus to whomever finds our first block! This won't be taken from the pool reward, but from my personal wallet! Please visit https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=17310 for more information

Just to let everyone know, we will be offering a 5 BTC bonus to whomever finds our first block.
This money won't be from the pool reward, but from my own stash.

No problem!
I think it's fair to say that most newbies are running Windows, but I will try and get a MacOSX version up tomorrow - work permitting.

From my tests I'm getting less than 0.01% stale rate on the shares.
I was getting about 2% on other pools I tested.
I would guess this is down to different versions of software, and hardware, and possibly the server load.

Yes.
I guess this is because
1) Getting the value of the transaction is harder than just setting it to 50BTC. 2) Pools aren't trivial to run, and they deserve some benefits.
I'm running a trial on my pool where we pay out the fees on the block as well as the 50BTC, but I don't know how sustainable it is in the long term.

Some graphs fail when the difficulty change, and take a little while to drop back to normal..

I may roll one out tomorrow, I've heard the current one has been having problems staying up!
