21  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [150 GH/sec] MineCo.in - PPLNS 0% Mining on: July 14, 2011, 11:33:16 PM
Total this block: 11825
Eligible for Reward: 6359

Could you clearify this?

Maybe it's just cosmetic. It looks from my point of view that I have 11825 shares but only 6359 are counted toward the next block found?

I know the need to stop pool hoppers exists. But it really bites guys like me who mine all night 8-10 hours just to end up loosing all my shares durring the day when I don't mine (using pc durring the day). Would it save my shares if I logged in with only one of my cpu cores mining? or maybe just one of my 5970 cores mining durring the day?

Everyone is losing shares, not just you. So your % of the reward is still the same...

Your eligible shares are how many shares you have in the last 1/2 difficulty so your "Estimated Reward" shouldn't be changing all that much..

Read more about the method here : http://eligius.st/wiki/index.php/Pay_Per_Last_N_Shares

Or come chat with us on IRC if you don't understand.

Hash rate is a 15 min average  not an average of the entire round

Even so, your calculations are wrong unless you aren't using difficulty of 1.

Your site has been showing over 250GH/sec for the last few hours...

Active Workers:   625  (last 10 minutes)
Current Round Started:   Thu, Jul 14th, 02:42:42 pm
Current Round Duration: 1 hours 43 minutes
Current Round Shares:   269,442

269442 *2^32 / (103*60) / 10^9 = 187 GH/sec average over the last block.

So how can you average 187GH/sec over a period of this block of 1hr 43 minutes, when you are reporting an average of 250GH/sec every 15 minutes ?

I did raise this point already on the 22nd of June! : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=10127.msg258618#msg258618

Globally or per user ?
24  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [150 GH/sec] MineCo.in - PPLNS 0% Mining on: July 14, 2011, 08:04:34 PM
After talking with some people in IRC, I realised that we were showing the GH settings in gibibyte (GiB) instead of gigabyte (GB).

I've updated it now across the site.

This might account for the 4% in your calculations, but I'm a bit lost on what you are saying/asking so I don't really know Smiley

I do not know what your username is ?
27  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [150 GH/sec] MineCo.in - PPLNS 0% Mining on: July 14, 2011, 01:12:23 PM
The last Block for example was calculated over the last 764101 Shares.

So your reward for a 50BTC block would be :

(YourShares / 764101) * 50 BTC

So if you had 33811 shares then..

(33811 / 764101) * 50 = 2.21246929 BTC

I was doing stats for 3 days !!!!!
I came out, that gets paid 94-95% of wages. About BTTS that must be shared between participants in a pool of 7 / 24, which comes from part-time participation in a round do not even want to raise the topic ....
I think you should stop cheating and really show% commission, which you take each and decide he should take part in your pool or not. I look forward to one day return to 5% for 3 days. The trust is lost. This occurs in 3 days.

If I was taking 6% of everyones rewards, that would be 3 BTC per block.. you don't think people would notice ?

When we moved over to PPLNS system I went through the calculations in detail with our pools biggest contributor, and we confirmed that the values were correct for his % of the pool ownership. They certainly were not 6% off.

Again, you are basing your calculations on totally incorrect values. You are using snapshot values, and estimates - so it's not surprising your calculations are around 5% off ?

As I've said - the most accurate value is the "Your Reward:" section in the left.
29  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [150 GH/sec] MineCo.in - PPLNS 0% Mining on: July 14, 2011, 11:20:00 AM
145Ghash / 6.621Ghash = 21.90
50 BTC / 21.90 = 2.2831 BTC
and projected
2.1667 BTC
verified in the last three blocks - the loss of 5-6% of the predicted

The 145Ghash is an estimate of the current pool speed over the last 30 minutes, As you can see from the graph the speed fluctuates somewhat.

Reward isn't calculated from the estimated speeds, but in fact from valid shares

Your reward is calculated like this :

Total Shares = Valid Shares in last (Difficulty / 2) Shares
Your Shares  = Your Valid Shares in last (Difficulty / 2) Shares

Your reward = your % of your shares in total shares.

You cannot make a simple calculation like 145Ghash / 6.621Ghash to get your exact reward. The projected reward is the most accurate.

Hope that clears things up a bit.

Wuked, what happens? I'm in the pool 24 / 7. I see that you take a commission of 5-6% give an explanation or I will go to another pool

I don't understand what you mean? We take no commission. How are you getting this 5-6% value ?

34  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When is it worth it to mine solo? on: July 14, 2011, 01:33:02 AM
Maybe if you've got 50Gh/sec it's worth it... otherwise Pool mine..

if you are a 24/miner then try https://mineco.in

35  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 4x640gb - RAID 10 vs. RAID 0 - What am I missing out on? on: July 14, 2011, 01:31:11 AM
Raid-0 is only for use in casual use when backups don't matter...

I've got a raid-0 of 2 x 240GB SSD drives that read at 1000 mb/sec, but it's not usable in production Sad

I cant get over 1000mhz one 1 5850 , but I've got 3 of them at 915hmhz...

38  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Adding some mining cards to my rig... on: July 14, 2011, 01:11:54 AM

According to my power monitor my entire Rig is using about 750-800W to produce 1.1GH/sec.

What power monitor are you using?

Some global monitor that I was sent by British Gas. I can turn everything off in the flat excluding the fridge, and then mesure my computer usage from that.
39  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: which bitcoin pool owner are hidden some blocks? on: July 14, 2011, 01:09:59 AM
There are many "Dark" Pools around

For example, the user "Vladimer" on this forum owns 400GH/sec of power.

Alone this would make him in the top 10 pools, and he would get a goof share of any generated blocks.

I think the OP means "Are pool admins trustworthy? I suspect there may be some pool owners who are not reporting all the block solves of their pool, and are keeping the unreported profit for themselves."

Most pools, including ours, post all of the blocks found...

If pools were to keep blocks for themselves then the average on their site would increase.

People with big pools might get away with it, but for the small pools it would be too obvious.
