281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine! - 100% Premine / 100% Distribution - Mining TX fees only on: January 25, 2014, 04:03:24 PM
So this coin looks... different... I'm interested to know how miners are doing so far? What are people finding as a sweet spot for mining hash rates? I have 3Mh/s on scrypt which I believe equates to 3Gh/s on SHA-256 (I may be mistaken) is this too much/little to be effective? Other then direct coin to coin trading are there plans in the pipes for stores to encourage transfers?

Sorry for the wall of questions but not only have I not been around long enough to know much about mining SHA-256 I also haven't seen a coin that has got to the point of having to rely purely on transfer fees yet, it has been a curiosity of mine of how coins will react when they get to the point of relying on fees. Oh and one more question it doesn't look like you enforce a minimum fee (may be wrong as I haven't tried a transfer yet - no coins ;P) would it not be a good idea for a coin like this to have an enforced fee?

Looking forward to hearing what people have to say Smiley

Wow someone bought all the way up to 200 sato! Good going Cheesy

Thats not exactly true.. ASIC miners are for all SHA-256 coins if i am not mistaken...

on the other hand.. COINS LIKE NOBLE are scrypt based so only CPU and GPU can be used to mine currently..

You will be hamstrung by the fact you are running an nvidia card.. dont need to see the model... as nvidia just does not hash well..

pls head here to see what kinda hash rates you can expect from the hardware..
https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison

You will likely see a hash rate of.. 25-30kh/s on you gpu and another 38kh/s from your cpu if u set that up as welll..

so optimistically you will get about 68 kh/s... which means you might get about 1400 Noble coins a day at current diff...
@ last checked market rate that would be about 0.00145163 BTC.. @800usd your looking at an earning of about USD 1.16 a day...

i imagine your power consumption would be about $1 a day.. so maybe you will end up with 0.16 cents.

There are some (one) small time ASICs atm but I wouldn't expect to see anything big/mainstream till ~mid year.

dint know about that... i heard about the FPGA's with a 12 month ROI but dint notice any asic news.. but the asics even if they do pop out.. are gonna need to be made cheaper and better tuned..

One thing though.. i believe its LTC ASIC... but not all scrypts are the same... so i believe the ASIC will only work on LTC and ltc clones... not on other variations
Yea the ones ATM are heavily over priced to the point of not being worth while but alpha tech are targeting 5Mh/s @ 70W around a mid-year release for ~$2.5K USD but nothing solid yet.

You might be right about them only being able to do LTC and LTC clones though, IDK any details on that. They do say "This device can perform proof-of-work (hashing) for all Scrypt based coins." though.

Cheers.

We see it on your balance, could you mind manually entering the amount, not clicking the autofill and perhaps closing all browser windows and loggin in again before you do it?
I have tried both ways, I just tried manual again but got the same error, I have also tried slightly less then my balance with no luck.

Hi, I'm having a little problem, I had an order I cancelled which seemed to work fine, the order is gone and the total is showing in my balance on the trade page, I then went to my wallet to withdraw (every thing looked OK) but it wouldn't left me saying "Error: Account has insufficient funds, required: XXXX" (and I did have that total available). I notice now that when I first open my wallet my funds show as "Available" but after the first 15 second refresh they show as "On orders", this happens every time I reload the wallet page. Could you please look into this?

Cheers.

I've been working on getting some Noblecoin stickers made.

Here are a couple test prints. The final stickers will probably be round but I was just testing settings. Would anyone be interested in these at all?

Looks nice, just a thought though, how about making some with just the logo watermarked on the background and a 2D barcode with a link to the website, nothing more... stick a few up round town, play on peoples curiosity... I would do it myself but my Photoshop skills are non-existent Tongue

Glad to see people are starting to get an idea of what noble is worth... still undervalued IMO though... so gutted I didn't have some loose BTC a couple of days ago when I mentioned the prices were crazy low (~30sato) would have more then doubled my money if I wasn't all in with doge at the time and that's if I sold right now, would expect it to be triple soon Sad lol

Damn, I just checked the exchange and if I wasn't all in on doge ATM I'd be buying the crap outta noble, people selling crazy low!

Maybe I'll have a sell opportunity tomorrow so I can grab some Cheesy

Only just got out today Sad opportunity missed... congrats to those that got in Wink

So while we've been getting our first wave of charities and merchants together we've also gone ahead and updated our Ambassador's Page to give everyone the run down of some of our more active community members and get some public faces going.

Yes, I've gone ahead and found the friendliest possible photo of myself that I could. Wink

We've got more ambassadors on the way, just waiting on some details. If you're interested in getting involved also (see the great rewards in the second half of that page) PM me!
Awesome news! Every time I see an update here I feel more and more confident I made the right choice moving to this coin Smiley And just going from the starting specs and smooth release I was already happy I saw this early on Wink

Hate to ask same always.
Any info how many coins are pre and instamined?
It takes hours to click all 6th day mined blocks and calculate. Didn't find that info.
2% premine with details here: http://www.noblemovement.com/public-ledger/
And I don't think there was an instamine, I cant remember what the starting diff was, though the diff retargets every block so it would have adjusted to suit pretty quick, I see people mentioning 0.66 diff on the second page and 1.2 on the third but there weren't any huge hashers around at the start and the community has been slowly building rather then having a huge hash right from the get go so there should be a fairly decent spread of the early coins - that's just from observation of a day 1 miner, I don't have any numbers to support that.

What's happening with cryptotycoons? Its been showing as dead for me for a couple of days now.

Edit: NVM saw the post a couple of pages back saying it should be back up soon.

This has been said earlier but, are you going to introduce a decreasment block reward after x amount of blocks for higher value?
And you should consider lowering giveaway rewards;
I see noble amouts of 10-5000 being dumped xD, and also its better for the value

Hi CR7 I will find our post on the future and plans - including our 'position' on whether to introduce a decrease in block value (we're also interested to see what happens to BTC when it drops as there are two polarizing sides arguing for and against either way).
...snip...
Just though Id share a couple of my opinions on block halving etc.
IMO it is a good idea as it helps ease the impact of lowered returns and gives the market value some time to slowly adjust upward as the generated coins decline, from my perspective as a miner this is more appealing then having a hard cut-off... in saying that by that stage scrypt will be dominated by ASICs and I may or may not be mining at that point.
I think if at all possible having graduated transfer fees lining up with the block halving would be a good idea too, ATM I believe you have no enforced fees? and this is what helps keep miners mining in the long term, I would suggest bringing in block halving and at each point add a level of transfer fees to further elevate the reduced block rewards, for instance have 0.000001NOBL at the first halving, 0.0001NOBL at the second and so on (all arbitrary numbers there, you guys would have to figure out what actually makes sense) this would help ease the transition between change in miner return method. It also helps reduce initial costs to the early (smaller) community, moving to a more sustainable model as the community grows. IDK if this has been done before but its what I feel make sense from my point of view.

Still loving the coin, your on a good path to success IMO Smiley

Hi guys, what's up?
I can see LOT getting back up, that's nice.

And I can see, no matter the nick, we always have some clowns here. Cool. Keeps shit interesting.
Any news on LOT development, any plans?

I'm still holding a fine amount of LOT; although - I gotta go clean - I sold some to make some doge profit, which turned up fine.

Cheers
My theory is with the doge pump multipools are hitting that instead giving LOT a bit of breathing room which should help spur a bit of growth Smiley

Looking forward to 50sato Wink

Quick recap for newcomers
...snip...
You missed the bit where you lost all your money over a bad decision and went sour over the coin because of it ;P

CoinMarket.io is this down for anyone else ? or do I have  local issue I need to work out ?

It does seem that they work on it/add changes often and bring it down for a short amount of time. It usually isn't down for longer than 10 minutes or so though.

Yep, I've noticed the same thing so I'm not overly worried about it. It's also still in beta, and there are warnings all over the main site about possible downtime etc.

Definitely starting to get some decent volume there though which is great Smiley

Oh I am all happy, I took 90% of my coin I've made and put it in my wallet anyway so all is well. but as it is a brand new exchange people are wise to proceed with caution <-- that is by no means a statement that they are in any way have bad intentions, just  a common sense for crypto ...
+1 proceed with caution with anything new BUT I will say even though I had a couple of issues early on (very early on) they were very fast to reply and remedy them and were friendly and willing to help so even if you do find a bug they are far more responsive then any of the other exchanges I have been on. I like what I've seen of this exchange so far and look forward to seeing how it evolves.

Keep up the good work CoinMarket.io team!

A good price for noble will be 750/1000 satoshis...
+1 Cheesy id even be happy @ 200 but it all depends on what happens with the net hash Wink
