Is anyone aware that there is a "Founders Reward"? This is essentially a premine that amounts to 20% of the coin over the first four years. Things like this need to be in the OP, not the FAQ.

YES!!! That's my biggest issue with this coin... the owner was supposed to get 10% but ending up getting 20% someone on the github brought this up, but the response was the creator would have to ask "investors"

"The Founders Reward will be given to early investors, developers, and Zcoin community members. We also have bounties for various tasks, such as Zcoin core development, web development, graphic design, marketing, ect. If you'd like to help out, please email or message us on Slack."

I believe it's initially 20%, then averages out to 10% over the distribution of the coin.  I'm ok with this, as long as they can be transparent about where it's going/ spend it wisely.  Early investors == Roger Ver

We need Btc Jesus to have a nice bag if we want him to make our market Wink

Were GPU miners released or something ? Hashrate is now to a huge 1700 kH/s Shocked !

Nope, cloud miners / server farms.  Maybe a private gpu miner or two.

This looks bullish. Look at the orderbook, probably we see 0.005 in the next 24h.

Lol two whole BTC on the buy side. Can't stop this rocketship now! Tongue

You mean 20, right?  Xzc pulled over 50 btc volume on nova in the last 24hr

Yep, on 90% statistics, price on minor exchange will double when hit big exchanges at beginning. Then stabilize.
I think most users, investors are afraid to trade on nova. That exchange was also hacked one time recently, but now seems ok.

Wondering why bittrex still doesn't listed xzc.

They are probably still auditing the code.

Ohyea, was only aware of Cryptopia at the time.

No worries dude... not saying that's even a big deal... but contextually, it is.

How can zk proofs make other coins obsolete when xmr has no weak points anymore, it's perfect anonymity (who, when, where, how much, using what), without a trusted set up, without lack of a way to check if a trusted setup was broken or another exploit was found. It looks like zero knowledge proofs are just a longer way to do the same thing. And optional anonymity plus knowledge about money sums sent in zerocoin are behind xmr at the moment, unless they change it.

I don't get it.

Go buy some rekt then... I mean monero.  You'll get it cheaply after zcoin/zcash absorb your market cap.
687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin - The Zerocoin cryptocurrency, guaranteeing financial privacy on: October 12, 2016, 12:59:00 PM
Its funny people compare xmr with zcash in this thread. So why are we all here in this obvious zcash fork that is trying to get a piece of zcash hype? Devs deleted my previous post and Im ready to open a new thread if you keep deleting my posts. Can you please tell me why do we need another fork of zcash when the actual one is about to release? What are you doing with your coins?

Lol what a dumbass!

Thank you, it's good to have a link here. but I read the entire website before I posted here. Lets just wait until someone else answers.

Everything you desire is in the whitepaper.  Stop being lazy.

From the website (that you supposedly already read):

"Bitcoin and preceding alternative cryptocurrencies have attempted to solve this problem through the use of transaction mixers or ring signatures. However, there are a number of drawbacks to these proposed solutions. For one, a malicious or compromised member of a mixer or ring signature can break privacy. Furthermore, the anonymity set is a key metric to understanding how private a cryptocurrency is. The anonymity set in formerly proposed solutions is limited by the size of the mixing cycle or ring signature. Each mixing cycle or ring signature is limited by the number of transactions per cycle, which is transitively limited by the the block size of the cryptocurrency. Thus, the anonymity set in previous attempts at privacy tends to only be a few hundred transactions.

With Zcoin, the anonymity set is on a dramatically higher magnitude. Instead of having an anonymity set limited to the few hundreds, Zcoin has an anonymity set that encompasses all "minted coins" in the Zcoin system. The magnitude of the anonymity set is on the order of millions, rather than hundreds - it makes all previous alternative cryptocurrencies aimed at privacy obsolete."

Typical Monero troll.  Sockpuppet account and hijacking threads.  Your articles are about zerocash protocol, not zerocoin protocol.  Step your game up.

I'm asking you how technology is better than a much more established technology. You're saying subjective stuff like fud and troll. This is my only account. I want to know if I should be interested in zcash and so far I haven't seen a single article that's accurate about competition that shows how it's better. How is it hijacking thread if I'm literally asking you about zcoin. Only reason I brought up zcash is it has some similarities in the trusted set-up which I still don't understand the necessity for. I don't care about xmr being overpumped too fast and falling in value, explain to me why I should buy zerocoin and how it's not just another coin, there are so many people asking these questions and no one seems to be able to answer them. If this was a bitcoin fork, I'd ask why is this better than bitcoin - it's a valid question and your short response lacks any details. I worry you're just an early buyer just trying to promote a coin for trading and not interested in privacy and security in general, so you don't matter, people who want to actually use and hold this tech matter.

I don't trust XMR because I don't trust fluffypony, smooth, generalizethis and the rest of their trolls who won the anon battle in the short term by basically belittling all kinds of people in this forum and invading/hijacking every thread even ones that are vaguely related to the anon debate to spread their gospel on why their coin is best and everything else is trash. I also don't trust in their programming ability because in 2 years they can't launch a simple GUI miner. I'm not a coder but I wasn't born yesterday either, if this is basic part of any crypto project is giving them a tough time then do you trust your life or security with them?

I kind of like how the devs of this coin spent the last year quietly working in the background rather than spreading propaganda.

If that's true, yeah, that's kind of mean spirited of them. However, every post I've seen was them criticizing security and privacy flaws, not people in general. And as the foremost experts in the field on privacy tech they are often very right, as demonstrated when they deanonimized shadowcash in a day after similarly people were calling their facts fud or trolling or whatever else people say to dismiss critique.

Critique is healthy and necessary if crypto revolving around privacy, security, and safety can succeed. Also p.s. they have never worked on a gui miner or gui wallet so that's why it's not done.

I'm interested in the best privacy coins, my questions are often asked so this would be place to answer them and help me see how I'm wrong.

691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin - The Zerocoin cryptocurrency, guaranteeing financial privacy on: October 12, 2016, 12:39:40 AM

Zerocoin protocol is a holy grail of anon... Both zcoin and zcash are better than XMR.

We are doing well guys!  Butthurt monero trolls showing up Cheesy Enjoying the aftermath of the exit pump much?

Better how? Pretty much everyone agrees xmr is a better choice for many reasons. Please specify some reasons rather than just using "holy grail" expression as your evidence. Please specify how I am a troll rather than someone who simply knows both technologies and xmr is clearly superior. This is old subject why zcash and zcoin can't possibly succeed or be trusted.

https://blog.okturtles.com/2016/09/how-to-compromise-zcash-and-take-over-the-world/

http://www.bitcoinplus.org/content/monero-v-zcash

There are tons of sources for zcash/zcoin issues. No one in the right mind would use a trusted set-up AND anonymity - it's a perfect set up for a scam that all z crypto could be, no one can know if they are - that's the problem. xmr has min of 3 mixins now, ringct, i2p, there is not a single not anonymous thing about it and yet does not require trusted set up and open for examination that no exploits have been found at same time. Since zerocoin shows amount sent, it's effectively about as anonymous as dash. It's a joke.

Your turn.

Typical Monero troll.  Sockpuppet account and hijacking threads.  Your articles are about zerocash protocol, not zerocoin protocol.  Step your game up.
692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin - The Zerocoin cryptocurrency, guaranteeing financial privacy on: October 11, 2016, 06:09:43 PM

Zcash is already doomed. Already several cloud mining that will get entire hash. If zcoin is hard to mine, zcash probabilty to mine are ZERO.

I look at it this way, at a 200k marketcap, this coin is a steal, if it even gets 1-3% of the marketcap Zerocash will this is very cheap.

Dude, yes.  Someone gets it! This is an easy 10x plus.  Super cheap ATM.
693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin - The Zerocoin cryptocurrency, guaranteeing financial privacy on: October 11, 2016, 06:05:45 PM
zerocoin protocol is not holy grail for anonimity. no one wants it because it depends on a trusted party. this one also fails in that it shows how much money is being sent with supposedly positive side that you can check if someone created infinite money via bug, which you can't do with zcash. However, showing how much is sent is effectively breaking anonymity by letting you scan for money signatures, the trusted central party (and founders reward) are huge red flags which make zcash and zcoin completely horrific for anonimity. I don't see how this is better than Monero - requires no trusted setup, no founders reward, no central party, no money displayed, a way to check if system was compromised as a whole, one of the most tested anonimity tech now with zero compromises. there is nothing not anonymous about Monero with i2p and RingCT already on test net. zcash and zcoin is nothing but people trying to capitalize on the success of the best anonymous crypto sadly, as can be evidenced by "founders reward"

Zerocoin protocol is a holy grail of anon... Both zcoin and zcash are better than XMR.

We are doing well guys!  Butthurt monero trolls showing up Cheesy Enjoying the aftermath of the exit pump much?
694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin - The Zerocoin cryptocurrency, guaranteeing financial privacy on: October 11, 2016, 05:47:03 PM
Good job devs. Why not just hop on to the zcash hype train right? And getting %20 of the rewards just like them must be very satisfying. I'm wondering if you even started to liquidate your coins since there are people with some buy orders. Broken algo, broken code. And no one cares about it. A lot of botnets also ruining the network.

Zerocoin has been hyped well before zerocash ever was...

It's a legitimate competitor, with many things it does better than zcash, and many it does worse.  They both have pros and cons.

Read about zerocoin protocol.  It's been considered a holy grail of anon for years.
695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin - The Zerocoin cryptocurrency, guaranteeing financial privacy on: October 11, 2016, 04:31:09 PM
Price now is low. should be at least 0.01 to be profitable...not talking about 1 usd @ day.  Wink

I agree. mining this coin is now not enough to supply in the market . no premined , No ICO , and the volumn of Zcoin is not much
so the price will rise in next time . I think it will be second ETH instead

Developer subsidy is pretty hefty. 10 coins per block...

"The Founders Reward will be given to early investors, developers, and Zcoin community members. We also have bounties for various tasks, such as Zcoin core development, web development, graphic design, marketing, ect. If you'd like to help out, please email or message us on Slack."

It's still hefty...  Is most of this going to Ver?

Hey, Zcoin evangelizers!
What you think about CredaCash?

Not on coinmarketcap or any exchange so... I don't think much of it.

0.03KH/s with an i7-6700K at 4.2Ghz. is it even possible to get higher hashrates? refuses to start mining on a FX-8150.

.2-.3 KH/s on fx-9590

Im trying to feed the noonce loop into an opencl kernel so we can finally GPU mine this coin however upon looking at the code its messed up.

LYRA2 is a matrix, usually of 2 or 4. However for this coin the matrix = height; so with every new block the matrix gets bigger and bigger and it will get harder and harder to solve. Pretty much like the difficulty bomb with ETHEREUM.

Yikes.  Thanks for sharing.
