People really need the money it seems.

This game will get beyond a joke eventually.

I wont be sad enough to constantly bump it.
1182  Economy / Economics / Re: Five economic lessons from Sweden, the rock star of the recovery on: June 27, 2011, 11:20:20 PM
"Growth" is usually measured in nominal GDP per capita right?

Well all governments need to do is print loads of money and see the GDP rise loads and the economy get worse.

Of-course that is never the only variable.

Part 2: Hitler sells his house, buys bitcoins and then it crashes.
1184  Economy / Economics / Re: Ayn Rand quote on: June 27, 2011, 04:23:41 PM
If you are forced to pay taxes then claiming some money back is only rational. The problem starts with taxation.

I agree that Ayn Rand was quite hypocritical as it seems to me.

Does the article take stocks from the stock exchanges in each country or the companies in each country wherever they are listed?
1186  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Plants Have (Now) Been Grown In Space! on: June 27, 2011, 01:05:25 PM
Why is this good news? It just shows that no real progress is being made because it isn't as if growing plants is a major breakthrough.

Yes, there has to be a way to stop people abusing the system because it's bound to happen.
1188  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where were you on the day of 9/11? on: June 26, 2011, 11:20:10 PM
At a safari zoo in Spain.
1189  Other / Off-topic / Re: What music do you listen to while programming? on: June 26, 2011, 11:17:45 PM
I don't listen to music specifically to program but I usually happen to listen to my spotify playlist if I do -> http://open.spotify.com/user/god0fgod/playlist/43aLhX8Rfrc4sGLlePag6U

I don't know why the OP thinks that stock market prices, apparently adjusted for inflation, that have increased the most means a lot to something that person wants or to the point that the person is trying to make.

It may be possible to get rid of money if technology advances far enough, but I doubt it. Mises and the problems of economic calculation have convinced me.

Star Trek was fictitious.
1192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Camp BX Platform in Beta: Margin Trading, Short Selling, and Advanced Orders on: June 22, 2011, 11:37:07 PM
Why doesn't it follow or emulate bitcoin conditions. Isn't this worthless without doing so as a testing platform? Can't really test it out properly otherwise.
1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TradeHill - PLEASE fix your ticker ASAP on: June 22, 2011, 10:12:29 PM
I was using their data to test the algorithm I am making. MtGox is down. What do I test my algorithm with now?

I suppose I'll have to use old data (I like to try out the new data).

So this only works in the US?

Why does the price chart on the homepage show 500usd for 1btc?

Sweet!  It's on my iPad now.  I sent you a small BTC donation to show my support and appreciation.  The world's first libertarian app?

I never got anything through after running bitcoin for a few hours.  Huh
1197  Economy / Economics / Re: Save the Coin - Kill Speculators on: June 20, 2011, 12:27:38 AM

How does the govt. fix the value for its currency.

They just print as much as they want. Or rather increase a number on a computer.

Speculators can help markets if they just buy low and sell high. Basically speculators help, providing they make money.

Thanks, I'll finally get to see that transaction if bitcoin starts updating some time or another.

I know Cato have done their own app.

I'll get the second version up some time soon with more feeds.

Libertarians that use the iPad? Are you kidding?

I think people exaggerate things a little bit.

To anyone that calls themselves a communist or socialist: Did the Soviet Union prove anything?
