481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is way down today on: July 11, 2019, 02:09:46 PM
Do you know how to protect your cryptocurrency from whale ‘rinse and repeat’ trades?

You don't need to track too much. It will turn up again. You just enjoy yourself.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Need help finding average returns on: July 10, 2019, 12:23:02 PM
If a person had bought only $ 10 BTC each month in the last 10 years, he would have made millions of dollars today.
I think this explanation is enough for your average returns Wink
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Cafe on: July 09, 2019, 08:36:16 AM
I have never seen something take this long to be honest.
This was because of the stupid people controlling the Finance Ministry. I have watched an interview where someone from the ministry of finance had talked about bitcoin. To be honest, they have zero knowledge on this. Most of them are still in the believe that bitcoin is a payment system for illegal product. Here, we don't have perfect person in responsibility.

This thing is totally relative. This is something that will change according to what will happen to cryptocurrencies in the future.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Cafe on: July 09, 2019, 07:12:13 AM
It's good to see this topic. Can you tell us what kind of ban does the state impose? So BTC cannot restrict ownership, because through decentralization it is impossible for them to know who owns and how much BTC owns.
I guess you can restrict your use only for trading purposes.
485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serious question about Bitcoin. Is it a reliable and stable investment? on: July 08, 2019, 08:04:37 PM
Hi guys. I have a friend who's parents are looking for alternatives and want to invest money into something other than their IRA account. They have a fixed IRA with about $100K, but they are unsatisfied with the miserable amount of interest they're getting. I mentioned to them that bitcoin is a possible alternative and one they can look into. Do you agree? Do you guys consider bitcoin a reliable and stable investment for long term holding(5-10yrs)? Is it safe to assume the only direction(barring a few dips here and there) bitcoin will eventually go from here is up? Do you foresee it going below $10K, or even $9K ever again? Is it even possible to see the lows we saw a few months ago(ie $3500) ever again?

Please give me your thoughts. IRA or Bitcoin for the long term?

If you ( or they) looking for reliable investment, Bitcoin would be the greatest choice for the long term. I think Bitcoin is the most potential way of earning money now. But you're looking or stability at the same time. Sorry Bitcoin investment doesn't offer this to you. You may look at Bitcoin/USDT price charts. Its price constantly goes up&down.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: U.S President Donald Trump’s ‘Direct Order to Buy Bitcoin’ on: July 07, 2019, 08:43:15 PM
They're just rumors. If Trump issued such an order and it was heard, Bitcoin had already crossed the 20K limit. I think it is completely gossip.

BTW if Trump says buy, we should think about sell!
487  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Paper wallets best practices on: July 06, 2019, 04:14:54 PM

The best practices for paper wallets IMO would be:
1. Put the paper in a fireproof safe if your bitcoins are worth enough for them to be protected (this can also be helpful for dumping the airgapped laptop also so no one tries to check their social media through it)...
2. Air gapped computers are extremely secure on their own (with a password) and are probably better than a paper wallet. But if you're wanting to use a paper wallet (i.e to not put all your eggs in one basket) then air gapping the computer and the printer is the best option.
If you can avoid printing entirely, then try writing out the address or using a QR code (you should encrypt the information you are printing anyway).
A better alternative to writing down your key or printing it off is to use some software like electrum which generates seeds for you to use and these are 12-24 words depending on the security you are after and are much easier to write down and store as you don't have to question "if that's a 5 or an S?".
3. Try finding a way to verify that what you have downloaded to make a seed has given you an accurate address and private keys by putting it into two devices not connected to the internet (or the same device with different operating systems).

Some alternatives to paper wallets:
1. Buy a cheap android phone/tablet for a maximum of $100 (preferably an old one that's still sold) and install electrum on it. Then take it completely offline and put it in a safe and secure place.
2. If you can go a bit higher, you can buy a phone and a trezor (or another hardware wallet) and try using that to store your funds (or use the hardware with a computer instead of a phone, this can also be done in an airgapped way once all firmware is installed).

Actually, I totally agree with your main idea. But it doesn't sound wise for me to save all the information on a $ 100 device. I guess you didn't follow the latest developments about Electrum wallets. Unfortunately, there are many problems with the Electrum wallet. I have doubts about trusting such devices and apps.

In fact the best option might be the paper wallet. As you said, taking extra security measures for those who have invested a significant amount.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Media Is All Praises For Bitcoin on: July 04, 2019, 04:19:00 PM
Prominent Chinese media houses love Bitcoin and believe that the number one cryptocurrency is a safe haven asset given rising tensions in the socio-political relations among global economic powerhouses....read more

There are big problems. We read dozens of news every day. Some of this news says it will ban China's cryptocurrencies. It will support the other part ... I think we need a very reliable crypto-news platform anymore.

SHIToken! (Stupendously high income tax) token. With an inital supply of 4,200,069.1337 SHIT and a burn rate of 12.5%. Much like in real life, with SHIT Token you pay a stupid amount of "taxes" while using the cryptocurrency. You wont want to miss this one!  The Discord: https://discord.gg/Rpr5ejP

492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the prediction of tezos coin? on: June 29, 2019, 12:45:51 PM
Tezos coin is one of the most promising Altcoin in the cryptocurrency market, According to popular crypto expert john macaffee altcoin price will gain 10*.

several crypto experts predict that the tezos price prediction the price will reach high in the upcoming years.

What's your point of view on this, let me know?

Tezos was one of the unlucky projects. They appeared exactly in the last period of the bull. And during the big correction of Bitcoin, they couldn't use the surprise of entry. It's not easy at the moment. Because competition is bigger now.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin connecting PayPal? on: June 29, 2019, 12:38:23 PM
Bitcoin and PayPal are two different types of platforms. There are many similarities to the two platform. Especially the transaction. So they're one but not one. Easy to connect them but not for a moment. You see Etherium like a bitcoin. But do not connect Etherium with Bitcoin. So do not connect Bitcoin with Paypal. Only the exchanger is connected to them.

Actually Bitcoin is not a platform Smiley Bitcoin's Blockchain networks can be accepted as a platform.

And there are no similarities between these two things. Paypal uses basically USD (which belong FED), Bitcoin is money itself. Paypal can be called some type of bank account, but Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency. And it backed by blockchain. Has an algorithm. Paypal has nothing but record. All this record keeping by Paypal company.

And I think you couldn't tell what you think to us. I can't understand what are you really mean.
494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Netflix is gonna film documentary about crypto on: June 29, 2019, 09:29:34 AM
First of all, I think it will be a great educational video that can explain much for newbies and secondly, this movie can push bitcoin's and altcoin's price reach the sky (don't perceive it literally). What do u think?

the source: https://thebitplex.com/?p=198

In late 2017, Bitcoin and crypto asset market awareness was increasing rapidly. The most important factor in this was the rise in the price of Bitcoin.

Then, despite the price drop, Bitcoin awareness continued to increase. But by the end of 2018 people slowly lost hope. This Netflix documentary can remind people of Bitcoin and Blockchain again. Since I am a strict Netflix user, I know that Netflix often reminds me of Bitcoin. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are mentioned in many Netflix series and movies. For this documentary to be useful, it must include constructive language and telling the truth. It's not just the good stuff. It must explain the advantages and disadvantages at the same time.

And yes, the wind is now blowing in the same direction as Bitcoin. This documentary can increase the speed of the wind in this direction.
495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: wallet Satoshi or not? on: June 29, 2019, 09:14:34 AM
why no one discusses this address? 18tCaHs7XwyJnctsCWDLaPX2GyEsNetuP4
this is one of Satoshi purses or not?

because the balance was leaked

18tCaHs7XwyJnctsCWDLaPX2GyEsNetuP4
Anybody can own this wallet. I guess nobody would know that except Coinbase. Because the BTCs sent by Coinbase to this wallet.

Who leaked this info? Have you any source?
496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin connecting PayPal? on: June 29, 2019, 09:10:07 AM
Is it possible that in future Bitcoin will connect to PayPal?
PP is not that much regulated by government, all they care about is profit so I personally think it may happen.
That'd be huge revolution, PayPal would introduce Bitcoin to the world.

What you think about it?

BTCBTCBTC

No way. Bitcoin is decentralized. So no one can control it. But if Paypal wants to integrate with BTC, it may happen. But there will be no connection between them.

Actually I don't agree with you. If your idea were true, everything went bad. This would hurt Bitcoin so much.

498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unconfirmed Bitcoin Transactions for 48 hours already!!! on: June 28, 2019, 10:15:56 AM

You just got unlucky!
Really really unlucky!!

You've sent your transaction when the mempool was quite empty and normally the tx would be accepted but just then a wave of transactions hit the chain, see the red circle.
~snip
Thanks for the graph, I want to ask some questions about what will happen those unconfirmed transactions around 1-6 satoshi/byte or more than that area, that is still unconfirmed?

Are those transactions will get confirm or will be back to every wallet of the sender? Like the transaction will fail since the transaction fees are too low. Is something like that? or they will wait until the transaction fees will drop around 1-6 satoshi per byte?

Under normal circumstances, there is no chance of any transaction returning. But there are examples of rollbacks applied before. The transactions will be completed after a certain period of time.
499  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Investment better or saving? on: June 28, 2019, 10:11:30 AM
The traditional norms made us believe that savings are a safe option to store your wealth.
But is it true now?
With inflation, we all know that the prices of the wealth we have kept in our savings account will decrease. What is the use of saving when ultimately we are not even able to enjoy what we have been saving for years?
The smarter option?
Investment! Investment is not gambling if done rightly. Very often we see people not putting too much effort into learning and jumping into FOMO. They don’t have enough guidance that will help them to invest better.

Actually, this is all about timing. At the right time, you can achieve better conditions as long as you can do the right thing. However, in the general economic development period, it may make more sense to prefer investment and saving during economic contraction periods. This is all my idea. You need to reach maturity to make your own decisions about your investments. Or you may need support from a licensed person.

Especially Bitcoin investment was a profitable from last summer. Because in long term, Bitcoin has a big potential still.
500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrency soon be an alternate payment option? on: June 28, 2019, 10:04:10 AM
With the  popularity that cryptocurrency is growing there is no doubt that it will soon be among other payment methods. Especially for the international payments, with its ridiculously low fee and time taken for inter-border transfers it is surely the favorite among the traders.

It already is. Sadly I still can't use crypto for one of my jobs. They still require my bank details and charge me around $4 for every transfer that I made (not to mention the services fees). If it's possible I'd rather accept payment in crypto and if it was needed I'll cash out immediately, rather than 'giving away' +$5 for fees.

It is currently accepted as a payment method in some small companies. But of course it will take a while for it to spread.

I don't think the credit card has become available worldwide in just a few years. It took time ... In my childhood a lot of local shops did not want to use credit cards. They was just pressuring people to shop for cash. In fact, there are still small shops of this type.

Moreover, the use of credit cards can be a bit problematic for foreign travels due to exchange rate differences. Bitcoin and other crypto coins have no problem with this type.
