here is their document including projected time lines. apparently site should still be up.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PUs2inw65GUNVmRabBjbtumo0aepdKygWfKPbmht-CE/edit

here is their recent tweet saying logins will be down. at this point the site was still up, but login was impossible

582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QUIT] Quit Dough, Real Products (e-cigs) +Multi-Vendor Vape Site on: April 28, 2015, 05:12:12 AM

ah the wallet actually updated pretty quickly. only required one restart when it got stuck. a bootstrap probably isnt that necessary Smiley
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QUIT] Quit Dough, Real Products (e-cigs) +Multi-Vendor Vape Site on: April 28, 2015, 05:01:34 AM
ah i see the link now. it's not clear where to look in the OP so i generally rely on doing a text search for "git".
maybe you could either change the "release dates" to include "source" or add the link to the "downloads" section.

edit : oh and i see you have the link with the config file too. lol i should have done a text search for "source"

..
also i just updated and had to delete my blockchain and reload as my wallet followed the wrong fork. perhaps you could put up a bootstrap ?

it's actually very simple. you just copy blk0001.dat from the folder where your wallet is.
then rename it to bootstrap.dat, upload to mega and bob's yr uncle.

"difficulty" : {
        "proof-of-work" : 0.59347436,
        "proof-of-stake" : 1877482.14814334
},

lolz..
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QUIT] Quit Dough, Real Products (e-cigs) +Multi-Vendor Vape Site on: April 28, 2015, 03:59:34 AM

could you add teh link to the source in the OP ? i had a small amount of annoyance tracking it down Smiley

https://github.com/beefsteaks/QuitDough-Release
i believe is the correct one.

the beefsteaks git is also a tad messy. 4 folders. 2 empty. 1 with old source. 1 with new source.

i think it good to represent connection between two distances, such as implied by ying/yang also by the circles around the globe.

this suggests a variation on the globe version by Vaxa with the use of the N vectors to delineate yin/yang similarish to some on number 1.

i also personally like the effort on top right number 5. (b. but upside down- like in the upside down version of #5)
also 1.f

Maybe something like this? Just a sketch.

yes this one with a bit more. it reminds me of telephone or $$ exchange graphics, showing the ease of movement across the entire sphere.

mayhaps the globe can become more earth like . at least representationally to signify the the whole.

the N maybe expanded up on by perhaps using the three vectors of N  to represent movement around the globe. with the N being the then nexus of those vectors.

otherwise, the N as is suggest a spiral to me, if you continued on from the ends of the N as is you'd end up spiralling around .. spirals are cool Smiley
it also suggests a spring. both are indicative of movement to me - which is good.

good luck.
pimpcash was always going to have an amusing facet to it that okcash will never have.

not that i think pimpcash was a bad name, but the amount of tightly wound buttocks in the "business" world was always going to make a problem Smiley
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CONTEST - ArtsyCoin Coin Icon Design challenge with PRIZES! on: April 19, 2015, 09:14:59 AM

so what's the current situation? i've been out of touch for a bit. so i missed all the hubbub . lol .

if none of the current entries are good enough, just re-open the competition. don't get caught in a mess because of lack of quality entries Cheesy

tbh i see some promising ideas. i dont see any problems with getting any ones of interest developed further ..
594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CannabisCoin [CANN][X11][Official][2] Developments & Discussions on: March 27, 2015, 01:23:59 PM
http://www.grahamhancock.com/forum/ZapolinM1.php

interesting presentation on the potential of cannabis..

"In this article, Mike Zappy transcribes the contents of a talk on cannabis and how it's going to change 'life as we know it' that he had intended to deliver at a Tedx event in Boca Raton. The text was approved by the organizers and Zappy was scheduled into the event but a few days later he received an email from the same organizers cancelling his talk. They said that 'Boca Raton was not ready for a talk about cannabis'.

Zappy wants to take a stand against what he believes is the hypocrisy of Tedx, an event that is supposed to break barriers, and is publishing his talk in full here."
595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][SOONR or L8R] SOONER or LATER COIN .. coming soon™ // bounties added on: March 23, 2015, 12:26:21 PM

to allay any further confusion between our soon to be released crypto 2.5 coin and the already released SOON.
we are re-branding as SOONR or L8R.

we understand that the long drawn out process of revolutionising crypto currencies has resulted in a rival team using our previously decided upon name and ticker.
unlike the reality of 5 different panda coins, we will move with a jaunty step towards a new future with a new name.

no more as SOON but now as SOONR or L8R

we are not bitter
we are not mad
we are crypto
we are SOONR or L8R

or at least we will be ...

596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Exclusive Coin - Cryptsy/Bittrex, Escrowed Market Incoming, Multipool on: March 14, 2015, 02:01:05 AM

POW/POS with a very low POW emission reward is a risk of attack, all POS Blocks can be shunted so that it can be POW only and then double spent, this attack was performed on MintCoin march of last year.

yah, low rewards with low value means low difficulty.
low difficulty means increased risk of attack.

one use for dev fund/premine is PoS security.
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QUIT] Quit Dough, Real Products (e-cigs) +Multi-Vendor Vape Site on: March 12, 2015, 07:48:26 AM
i guess PoS rewards should be based on desired coin count vs security. ( not to forget the awesome divisibility of crypto, enabling even 5million QUIT to have a much larger $$ value )

larger PoS% earlier on may encourage users to stake, but it will also encourage smaller distribution of coins. this may give rise to some volatility should QUIT gain some value as larger holders dump.
potentially giving large holders a chance of price/product manipulation.

another thing to consider is keeping a healthy proportion of pre-mine for using as network security in the early days.
i cant remember the coin that was succesfully attacked because a large % of coins were held on exchanges, so only a small % were needed to create a 51%

ppc is soon to be introducing cold wallet coin minting. which will help with wallet security as the necessary privkeys for moving the coins will not be exposed whilst making them available for minting.
598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BANKSYCOIN (SOON TO BE ARTSYCOIN) - ORIGINAL OFFICIAL THREAD on: March 12, 2015, 07:38:31 AM
thanks for the info regarding coin supply.
can we get some more precise info ? as in which addresses are those 60million stored in.

also more urgently.
ALLCRYPT IS GOING OFFLINE FOR AN UNDISCLOSED LENGTH OF TIME.

https://www.allcrypt.com/blog/2015/03/allcrypt-com-will-be-going-offline-for-a-while/

they suggest it will not be permanent. and no coins will be lost as balances will be restored upon re-opening.
however, if you want yr coinz handy then withdrawl is a good option
599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CONTEST - ArtsyCoin Coin Icon Design challenge with PRIZES! on: March 08, 2015, 01:13:07 PM
this comes from your target group "the artists":

so far i have seen only entries of hobby designers.

fair enough but not exiting.

lol. i agree somewhat.
it would be nice for some real art Cheesy

i'm pretty noob at this. haha. my particular aesthetic is generally fairly simplistic or overly complicated, and as a non-graphical artist simple is easier.
i'm just throwing ideas in hopefully to stimulate something interesting.

So I just downloaded the 1.4 client, imported my wallet, synced, but My balance is only 358 BSY... It should be over 50,000! Any ideas?

The transaction log shows lots of incoming transactions from mining as well as the 50,000 free ones...

did you use the old wallet ? if so try and reload using that.

check the address for the 50k on the block explorer and see if the funds are there. http://blockexperts.com/bsy

..

keeping teh wallet.dat safe. you could delete everything in the /roaming/Banksycoin folder and try again.

http://blockexperts.com/bsy/address/B9sJA2wp1FL3jbsNFmbhWhMj4XmKRmrepS

They're still there...

have you tried reloading the chain or resyncing yr wallet ?

a quick and dirty way would be to get into yr %appdata%\Banksycoin folder (assuming windows)
and rename blk0001.dat to bootstrap.dat
and restart Banksycoin

that'll make it reload the chain from the bootstrap rather than downloading it
