You need to only short slot number 5.  Then don't use slot number 4 as it deactivates.  Use slots 1,2,3,5,6,7  1x risers must be used on all slots.

It works!

Linux sees now 6 GPU, but when I install Multiminer, it can see only one GPU ;c
242  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 6 GPUs on mobo MSI Z77A-G45 on: February 03, 2014, 06:24:40 PM
Hi everyone,

I can't connect 6 GPUs (Asus r9 290) to my motherboard MSI Z77A-G45.

I read these posts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?PHPSESSID=nbigpv5ko1uc856pi2et7jjpj1&topic=102547.msg1124000#msg1124000 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=142241.msg1515460#msg1515460
and I know that it is possible to run 6 GPUs on that mobo.

Linux (ubuntu) can see max 5x cards when I short two middle x1 slots (http://pl.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2qn48ip&s=8),  PCI-E pins like that https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fblog.zorinaq.com%2Fimages%2Fpcie-short-schematic.png&t=536&c=8DJ_1hJYAKw0Ag

Hardware:
6gb DDR3
Intel G1610
3x PSU Corsair 750 W 80+gold

Could you help me to solve the problem?

Thank you in advance

Thank you for your reply! I added:

--temp-overheat 85,85,85 --temp-cutoff 93,93,93

Is it ok?

Edit: nothing happenes when one of cards reaches 86-88 degrees.

Check the Process Log window - it shows the arguments passed to bfgminer. Can you copy & paste those here? Note that they will include worker passwords you may want to clean up first.

Everything is ok now. I had  to wait  a moment Smiley

Thank you for your help! Smiley

I use Multiminer with my r9 290s on win7.

Should I add something like --temp overheat -- to my Scrypt or Multiminer will do it without my help when my cards are overheated?

You need to add these arguments under Settings > Advanced miner settings. Anything that you would normally use with bfgminer you can place there.

You can also use external tools such as Afterburner from MSI.

247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Question about PSU -> Templarius 1150W on: January 02, 2014, 07:26:16 PM
Hi everyone,

could anyone tell me if Templarius 1150W (80+ gold) is enough for 3x r9 290 (msi 4gd5)? (win 7, 4gb ram, intel g1610) or not?
I'd like to get about 870-875 kH/s per card.

Thank you in advance,
tsg

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with MultiMiner on two computers.

Hardware:
-Templarius 1150W
-MSI Z77A-G45
-3x MSI R9 290 4gb gddr5 (4gd5)
-RAM Kingston 4gb
-Processor Intel Celeron G1610 2,6 GHz

Software:
-Windows 7 64bit
-Multiminer 2.2.8 + bfgminer 3.9.0 (When I installed 2.3.0 or higher it blue screens when pressing stop button everytime). Good_shepherd had similar problem - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=248173.msg4213417#msg4213417
-Drivers (Catalyst Software Suite from http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%207%20-%2064 (so I have .net framework 4.5 installed too)
-LAN drivers
-Teamviewer
-AMD APP SDK (Do I have to install SDK? )

I also added commands: setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 and setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 . I did not installed anything else.

Then I opened MultiMiner and started to configure it and I clicked START button.

It works but I can see 3-10 BSODs every day. Details: http://i44.tinypic.com/bgv0w5.jpg

// edit:
I have just seen Blue Sreen on the second device -  http://i43.tinypic.com/ri6wef.jpg

Ja kopę alty na kilku koparkach GPU, jak wszystko (nie daj Boże!) pierdyknie, to się chociaż sprzęt sprzeda za 70% ceny. A koparek do bitcoinów nikt nie kupi.
