281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Undergraduate Paper Help on: March 31, 2014, 08:03:03 PM
How is giving him topic ideas the same as cheating?

I assume he's going to do the research himself once he's focused on one particular thing.

Bitcoin is a broad concept. I wouldn't know where to start either.
282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Family just bought Bitcoins! Finally! on: March 31, 2014, 03:31:13 PM
You bought Bitcoin and then you sold it.

So how exactly did it change your life?

Do you mean the FIAT you got out of Bitcoin transformed your life?

You have to be honest here.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is becoming obsolete. on: March 31, 2014, 03:28:43 PM
Bitcoin will never become obsolete.

Maybe you mean the technology behind Bitcoin will never become obsolete.

And even that is debatable. Sataoshi Nakamoto was a brilliant man but he is no longer involved.
There are other brilliant minds in the world who are working on similar technologies. Now and in the future.

The best is yet to come.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When does Bitcoin become your property? on: March 30, 2014, 03:18:04 PM
You don't own the keys to a wallet... Nobody owns anything.

We control the Bitcoins that we have access to. All is good and well until someone else gains access to the same Bitcoins.

If you can't sleep well at night having this knowledge, Bitcoin is not for you.
285  Other / Off-topic / Re: All-Star List Sharing - Let's help eachother out on: March 28, 2014, 07:46:42 PM
Whats the point of this?

Circle of mutual adoration.
It may even go deeper than that...  Shocked
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reddit Founder is not optimistic about Crypto-currency on: March 28, 2014, 12:45:23 AM
WOw, I couldn't have said it better myself.

The Bitcoin community is infested with lunatics, nut-jobs, anarchists, propagandists,
people who continuously bitch about the government but don't have any balls to take action, etc.

Good job, you've killed the best thing to come along in ages.

Bitcoin is not your propaganda tool, fuck off.
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is hardly "doomed" because of the IRS ruling on: March 27, 2014, 05:32:42 PM
why would anyone choose to use bitcoin now.

Because it's best use cases have nothing to do with using it as daily spending money.

What are the best use cases?

How often does Grandma send money overseas?

If you want mass adoption, you need to cater to the needs of the masses.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zerocoin - has it's time come? on: March 27, 2014, 04:54:52 PM
Coins do not need the government or its approval to succeed.

If there's a demand for Zerocoin, it will succeed.
289  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Is Property Not Currency on: March 26, 2014, 01:17:48 PM

290  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is this Blockchain, or a Dummy Website? on: March 24, 2014, 04:19:10 PM
If you were unsure if that was real I will save you the time and let you know not to buy this "laptop" either.

I mean honestly guy, that was the worst phishing attempt ever.  No legit website is EVER going to have an ip address in front.  EVER.  You can write that down on a post it note and stick it on your monitor as cyber security rule #0.

Chromebook... eeew
291  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2014 World Fiat Collapse? on: March 20, 2014, 04:34:08 PM
And what would FIAT be replaced with in 5 years??
292  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UK Banks - HMRC have the power to empty your account on: March 20, 2014, 02:42:16 PM
Hm you just need to make sure you own the private key to your account, because if you don't control the private key you don't own ...

UH, ONE MOMENT.

HOLD ON ...

SHIT.

BITCOIN USERS NOT AFFECTED  Cheesy

Anyone knowing the private key can come and empty your "wallet". And that's perfectly legal.

I think you mean Bitcoin users are VERY affected.
293  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many in U.S.A. believe that Bitcoin is the one world money in the End Days? on: March 17, 2014, 02:15:39 PM
I get dumber ever day by visiting this forum...
294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitoin could worth more than half a million dollars each on: March 17, 2014, 12:07:07 PM
It could very well be worth half a dollar each.

There's just no way to tell.
295  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: New Auction Site Beta Now Open! Try Free! on: March 12, 2014, 01:58:24 AM
Looks like Ebay. Does it steal Bitcoins, too?
296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donate to Wikipedia founder to motivate him accept BTC on: March 11, 2014, 08:15:48 PM
This guy has no shame to solicit BTC donations like that...

There are plenty of worthwhile charities around and this is who you send your Bitcoins to?...
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I draft Andreas Antonopoulos to sit with Jimmy Wales of Wikipedia. on: March 11, 2014, 08:12:58 PM
Bitcoin 100 is on record in stating that a $1,000 USD via BTC will be donated to Wikipedia once it starts accepting donations via bitcoins.

Jimmy already got bought... I mean he already solicited some donations.

We got him in the back pocket.
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox database leak: why you should always mix your coins. on: March 11, 2014, 04:45:33 PM
I don't see how mixing coins is supposed to protect my identity.

What is the argument?
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia founder asking for help to learn Bitcoin on: March 11, 2014, 12:40:52 PM
The account already has 18 BTC.

Keep sending him more, fools... I'm sure the guy is dying of starvation.
300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we please stop saying that it is improbable to generate an inuse key? on: March 10, 2014, 06:13:44 PM
I don't think you fully understand how large 2^256 is:

I don't think you fully understand how insignificant this is to my algorithm.
Oh boy...  Cheesy
