Are you running the 280x with g1 or g2?
g1.. can't get anywhere with g2 Run this with -g 2, should be getting 362 Kh/s with a 280x: "intensity" : "13", "worksize" : "256", "lookup-gap" : "2", "thread-concurrency" : "8192", "gpu-engine" : "1000", "gpu-fan" : "20-100", "auto-fan" : true, "gpu-memclock" : "1500", "gpu-powertune" : "50", "temp-cutoff" : "95", "temp-overheat" : "90", "temp-target" : "70", "expiry" : "30", "log" : "5", "queue" : "0", "scan-time" : "1", "scrypt-vert" : true } Yep I'm using the same config on the 280xs, except powertune = 0. You shouldn't run it that high man. I'm getting 356 kh/s

You're really thinking BTC will dip that low? I have a hard time seeing that despite what current trends suggest. With so many missing already (lost in inaccessible wallets), the amount in circulation is less than mined which affects supply and demand protocols. Furthermore, the cost to mine is increasing, along with the global acceptance rates---ATM's are sprouting up in droves. I think it will begin to rebound once these more robust, compliant exchanges come into fruition. This will allow the average, non technical user to get involved and allow much more efficient trading. I can certainly see the volatility decreasing but as for the price, well, it really could go in either direction. Who knows.
I think btc at 100$ is purely sci-fi. Truth is there's little to no reason for the price decline we're witnessing, except for FUD. Looks to me like manipulation.

In the title to this thread, it says this coin is low energy.. so why is my 290 running hot (82C - normally I keep it under 75C) with the fan maxed out (Normally at around 70% with other coins)??
I am getting approx 440KH/s on a single card - is this about right?
CAI is more energy eficient than most scrypt coins, but compared to x11 algo coins it's not. This is not the best summer mining coin but that also mens noting in coin success. Lol.. seems to be worked much harder than any other coin I have mined so far! Can't imagine that it is that energy efficient.. Not worried about my electric as I get it free, but I am worried that the fan on my GPU will burn out in a few weeks! You probably have wrong settings in your .conf. Scrypt-vert is cooler and less power hungry than scrypt so certainly your statement about it "seems to be worked much harder than any other coin I have mined so far" is outright wrong. Maybe, if you're not just a x11 groupie, post your .conf/.bat and we can try to help you out.

I think he means "the whole market is in a downtrend". Which is totally true. Out of 200+ coins on coinmarket cap, only 10 are green in the last 24h.. so I think it's a fair statement.
When did all the alt go boom? When btc price went boom. When do all the alts go down? When btc goes does.
Alts follow btc. A very fair statement about alts would be that they are basically leverage against btc. The rewards is exponential but the risk also. In crypto where you have very limited ways to leverage, alts are great for that.
And what better than to choose the likely new home of GPU miners.
Indeed. Saying "not true cuz some alts r goin up" is the same as saying "cigarettes aren't harmful cuz my grandad was a smoker and died at 97 years old"

Most people who aren't watching this closely seem to be under the impression that the 51% attack was successful, which is creating a lot of FUD around.
The consensus now is that the coin is fine, and people need to be made aware of that (the bitcoinexpress guy even backed off his claims in the other thread). If the coin can gain just a little bit of its value back, the hashrate will go up and it's security will be ensured. People need to be made aware that the coin is in fact, not dead right now. There are also a few people on cryptsy that have been picking up a ton of cheap coins/making sure the value doesn't fall any lower. It may be the perfect time to invest now - "Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful" - but people need to be aware that the coin is up and running without issue at the moment or it may never regain confidence.
coin is up = 1 AUR = 0.004 - 0.005!!? Man would you stop infesting this thread? Nobody told you to hold all your AUR. Nobody told you to mine AUR for months. Even if you really did those things, you had been warned endless times about price going down approaching airdrop day. You could have sold/mined something else, you only have to blame yourself. Nevermind that the ridicolous price AUR got was ONLY due to manipulation and never part of the dev's plan.
