I haven't seen it. I just close the tab if necessary.  Smiley

So if some dingaling had access to your computer briefly the could open a browser, enter 1 see what IP's come up, click and wreak havoc?

Someone please tell me where in the UI I can log out of the miner? I cannot seem to find that button.

I took a shot at cornering the paperclip jumper market not too long ago. Some interesting Q's and A's in there if you have a second. Took a page straight out of the High Def HDMI Cable market.

He was saying just add the paperclip to the modular connector that houses the PS_ON wire and ground, that way you do not need the large 24 pin cable at all.

I personally find that hideous to look at so I make small jumpers (switched and non depending on layout) with the correct female connectors for all my modular PSUs.  It is much more zen for me.  Smiley

What do you find hideous to look at? And remind me not to invite you over!

I've had these running just a couple days as they are, PSU didn't show till Saturday afternoon. Wanted to get the height right for the air intake. Later this week the third amigo arrives, re-introduce a CX750M, then do some cable management and use some zip ties here and there... will be fun to look at soon.

I'm so happy with how quiet they are.. I'm just happy.
110  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: March 02, 2015, 08:32:53 PM
Its a better solution than paper clip!
image of the antminer clip-on

I have and prefer this method, looks much cleaner!
I have a lot of dully-modular supplies. The EVGA can be paperclipped directly at the back of the PSU and you wont have a fat 24pin cable getting in the way at all

I hate to ask... as I've got a number of these Antminer kill switches / paperclip replacements... but how do you paperclip the evga 1300 G2 "at" the PSU? Because honestly unplugging that huge 24pin cable and putting it back in the box would clean things up that much more.

Then again... arranging, re-arranging my miners is as much fun as mining itself. I had a rack of S1's and went through a few summertime setups trying to get rid of the heat. Absolute insanity hearing 5x PSU's running AND the A/C unit running non-stop. Anyway, here is basically the reverse of what I've got going now.

Just boxed up Corsair CX750M's and pulled the stock fans out of the S5's. Replaced those with Corsair SP120 fans. Replaced PSU's with an evga 1300G2 Supernova.

Right now window cracked open - running cold air intake mode! Once I figure how they will rest will secure them then get on that red cable management. What a mess.

Couldn't be happier with the new fans or the new power. Love these machines, especially now that they are liveable and silent compared to stock.

Maybe I should dig out my block erupted too!  Cheesy

It's probably unintentional, but I really like that you used the past-tense.

Selling VINTAGE COLLECTIBLE HIGHLY-SOUGHT-AFTER beautiful BFL Jalapeno 10GH/s miner. As these are discontinued and for serious collectors only, letting this piece go for $1700.00

113  Bitcoin / Mining support / Let's Overclock My S5's Today! on: February 27, 2015, 06:45:11 PM
Have a pair of S5's running on Corsair 750's. Today the miners are getting upgraded...

Adding SP120 Corsair Fans
Have a setup now that allows for plenty of cool/cold air
Adding evga 1300G2 Supernova

My temps at stock are routinely under 50 degrees. Once I get them setup and on the new power... what settings?

thanks!
114  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Cheap Intro Miner on: February 27, 2015, 05:59:48 PM
Anything cheap I just want to learn more and I currently am lucky enough to have a no electricity setup and really just want to play around with stuff.

I don't know much, but maybe a

Antminer S1
Rockbox
Many USB miners?

I want something(s) that combine to equal around 160-180gh/s to play with, so perhaps recommend something.

"currently am lucky enough to have a no electricity setup"

find out the maximum amount of free electricity setup you have, then spend as much as possible on as much hashing as possible and mine for free.
115  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Cheap Intro Miner on: February 27, 2015, 12:40:57 AM
Looks like he's wanting at least $70 apiece for the S3s, and probably $40-50 for a PSU that'd run both of them. That'd get you about 880GH for a little over $200 shipped within the US. He's got 4x S3 and two PSUs here.

Would he split that to 100 even? for one of them ?

Not a damn bit of my business, but if you can swing $100 try to swing $200 and pickup that deal. Close to 900GH/s turn key to your door (with relevant miners) is not bad at all. If you want to really learn mining you may want to go a different route. I say this because I am a moron and managed to get 12x S1's running without breaking anything or screaming or crying or really any mistakes. I had my S5's unboxed up and running in 5 minutes. Bitmain products are awesome like that.

If you wanted to dick around some more get some miners that need cgminer or similar and raspberry pi. If you are an enthusiast/geek you'll likely have more fun going that route.

(list to others over my advice)
116  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Sick of BTCGuild - Where? Help me point my miners! on: February 27, 2015, 12:25:07 AM
So... Antpool you get one....

Right. So after explaining the problems with large, badly coded centralized pools with virtually zero support - you choose probably the worst one of all to mine at.

All is lost  Roll Eyes

Wait, didn't I choose the worst two? Which are the worst two, because the point of the thread was identifying those so I could mine there!

I've decided Antpool eats a dick. I still can't get over batch process. And as stated, I don't want to login to Bitmain to mine.

BTCGuild, you old whore, I'm coming home again until your next 12 hour abyss drives me to insanity, again.

117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Upgrade Antminer s5 fan for cooling? on: February 26, 2015, 11:01:49 PM
Just to chime in with what I've learned as I've been searching and planning to do the same thing. Came here for some advice as tomorrow gonna be fun!

From Dogie and others, high static pressure is what is really important with these fans, more so than CFM. Fan write ups SP120 High Static Pressure echo the recommendation that the static pressure is most important for radiator/heat sink type applications. Another thought would be to get a 80mm to 120mm shroud, put in an 80mm jet fan and see what happens.

Tomorrow have a 1300G2 Supernova and 2x Corsair SP120 High Static Pressure fans coming. Can't wait.
118  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Sick of BTCGuild - Where? Help me point my miners! on: February 26, 2015, 10:52:58 PM
I keep saying that I think when the block reward halves again that we'll see a decrease in the network hashing power as large farms are turned off since they won't be able to maintain the same profit margins as today, hopefully opening the door back up for the "home miners".

Hmm.  Sounds vaguely familiar.  Hope you don't mind if I don't hold my breath Smiley

PLEASE... I'm not saying anything bad should happen, but isn't this why we have agencies and special forces and such? Maybe some tax dollars could be used to make those damn commie bitcoin factories... less... hash-worthy? Could be a job for the A-Team - if anyone can find them (they'll find us if they want the job).

I have my upcoming hack to make home mining profitable. It is gonna be totally sweet!

Back to pools... I can't believe Antpool uses batch process! Really? That and an apparent inability to see blocks solved / payments / just waste time staring at miners stink. So... Antpool you get one, BTCGuild you get the other. I do feel like ghash in particular is up to tomfoolery and possibly even hijinks. Every just get that feeling? And the pool ops see their loot shrinking the temptation to skim must grow.

Bah... who knows. I am keeping track and will see which pool is performing best over 12/24 hour periods.

(we could build a mining convent / homestead with a waterfall and watermill to power our 2x USB stick mining farm)
