1  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 5 GekkoScience Newpacs & GekkoScience Hub on: April 21, 2022, 12:44:42 AM
I am looking to sell my GekkoScience Hub & 5 Newpac miners to explore a different mining venture. These sticks work great and have achieved ~100 GH/s each with a 120mm fan that I can throw in. I can also throw in a PSU that I got from my butterfly labs miner. (Yes I know they are a risky PSU haha) I also have the hub from GekkoScience that I will include in the sale. I have run these off a raspberry pi for the past couple of months with no issue. I am located in the USA. If you are interested send me a PM with a reasonable offer and we can talk. Escrow accepted! Thanks!

4  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS][FEELER] Antminer S9 with One Burnt Hashing Board & PSU Working on: September 08, 2021, 07:51:35 PM
After selling a lot of these kinds of units on eBay, here's what I would suggest:

Remove the damaged hashboard and list it.
Looks like they go for $30-$100.

Then sell the S9 with or without the PSU as 2/3 Hashboards.
Should be able to get around 300-400 for it.

Good luck!
Thanks! I'll go with prices around that and try to sell the damaged one on ebay.

Update: Let's change this to looking to sell instead of feeler. If someone has an offer feel free to send it. If I get no offers then I'll suck it up and sell it on eBay. The worst I can say is no. Let's make a deal!
6  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS][FEELER] Antminer S9 with One Burnt Hashing Board & PSU Working on: June 02, 2021, 11:30:53 PM
I am looking at selling my antminer S9. Two of the hashing boards work great. One of the hashing boards burnt up as you can see in the pictures. This will also include the power supply. I don't really have a price in mind, so please send offers via PM. Also, please no low ball offers. I understand prices are higher on ebay, but if your price is drastically different I might as well deal with ebay. This will be shipped from the east coast of the USA. I can include the hashing board/ or recycle it. It will be up to the buyer. Also will utilize escrow if buyer requests, and will only deal on site.

Do you have users past the pop-ups? That's all I've seen. Luckily I was on a virtual machine trying.

My personal taste is a medium roast coffee. I have been drinking it black recently, and it is honestly the best thing to acquire a taste for. It's so much easier to order a back coffee than to have to say how many sugars and creamer you want to add. It didn't take too much to acquire the taste for it. I don't enjoy a dark roast though black. As for brand anything goes for me.

A hobby I have is coding in python using raspberry pi. It opened up a lot of opportunities for me with learning coding, as well as just getting to play around with making code move components. It causes great satisfaction when I get a problem solved. I learned C and Java before, and learning python has added to my abilities of programming. Next I want to start learning about ham radio 😊

Got this user's service. Seems great so far. The user was very responsive. I will update if the drive stops working in the short term, but as of now, it seems to be great.

I just ran raspian and install cgminer like the post on the first page says. It was a very simple process. I however have the gekkohub also. I wouldn't plug the miner directly into the raspberry pi.

Model 4 with 4gb ram, honestly seems overkill. It consumes hardly any ram.

Has Newpac been tested on raspi 4 yet @sidehack ?

I currently have 5 of them running on one. Grin

I believe CK said Iran is blocked from the pool. That could likely be your problem  Grin
No, I'm not blocking anything at all.
Sorry, I meant Iran blocks connections to the server you said. Not you

This might have been said before, but I don't feel like going through all 82 pages. Is there a way to find the temperature of the mining chips on the newpac? I am currently running them at 450 freq with no issue, but I want to check to make sure the temperatures are ok. Just touching them the are cool, but I am wondering if there is a more in-depth way.

Also is this in its on .sh file? or are you typing it in to a terminal everytime?

I am just typing it into the terminal every time.

First, can you confirm you have some active cooling? above 100Mhz, newpacs get very hot and will jump into thermal runaway and shutdown/burn out very fast.

What exactly is happening when you try to overclock? Is it throwing an error or just not allowing you to set it above 100Mhz?

Yes, I have 2 120mm fans cooling them atm. When I try to overclock them for a split second they show 200 Mhz, then they all reset back down to 100 Mhz. No errors or anything is getting thrown.

Also make sure there's not a config file overriding your command line settings.

Currently, I don't see a config file titled cgminer.conf. Is this what you are referring to?

I got them to work. I ended up scrapping my ubuntu install and just downloaded raspbarian. They ended up going to 200 Mhz. Thanks everyone!

So I am currently trying to set up my 5 newpacs on a raspberry pi 4 using Linux. Everything works fine at freq 100, but I am unable to increase the freq. Could some please correct me if I am wrong on my approach? I am using the command

Code:
sudo ./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 12ojXdVSLUbvNSTXkXEhrcFrtmwbHJhkfq --gekko-newpac-freq 200 -p x

I am sure it's not the hub because I am using the Gekko science hub, and have a 10A power supply at 12 V.

Should I try each Newpac individual or does something look wrong? Thank you.
