1  Bitcoin / Project Development / CENTRALIZED EXCHANGES VS DECENTRALIZED EXCHANGES for BITCOIN - A MIDDLE-GROUND? on: May 25, 2018, 11:32:16 PM
Perhaps the fix for the many challenges people face when trading cryptocurrencies isn’t decentralized exchanges (DEXs). Although there are some die-hard believers out there, the fact of the matter is, DEXs aren’t yet sufficiently developed in a way to encourage mass adoption (e.g. mining is too slow, there are liquidity challenges, trading is manual, single orders can be expensive, front-running is a problem, etc…)

So then, why not explore ways to make centralized exchanges better? We’ve identified three areas that we believe need improvement:

1. Lack of accountability. 2. Poor UX 3. Hidden fees.

Here’s one solution under development: A centralized cryptocurrency wallet & exchange that allows account-optional trading and adds Proof-of-Integrity to the trading process, through Personal Blockchains, to ensure transparency in any transaction -- all in an intuitive and conversational user interface designed with the customer in mind. Add to that full transparency on fees, and there’s a compelling case to switch platforms today.

Personal Blockchains could bring the speed and privacy of centralized systems with the fairness of decentralized processes.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] A better crypto exchange experience! on: May 11, 2018, 01:28:48 AM
We are working on launching a wallet and exchange based out of Vancouver, Canada. We are calling it Symetria.

This wallet and exchange incorporates Personal Blockchains. These are a published consensus of rules governing interactions between a centralized system and each of its users, to allow for proof-of-integrity between the two parties and to any concerned observer.

This allows for increased transparency during the transaction process. Basically, we provide immutable cryptographic receipts that can be published to prove everything Symetria does during a transaction. Similarly, as an exchange, we can prove the facts in the event of any false allegations or erroneous claims. We want to make the transaction process honest again, by making ourselves, as a service provider, accountable.

If we do something wrong, you, the user, can prove it. We care about our reputation, so it is up to us to make it right every single time.

Add to this an intuitive, easy to use platform that will include a several features (e.g. account-optional trading, dust collection, ability to invest in ICOs directly, and more) and you have an exchange that is better than anything else out there right now. We'll give you the speed and privacy of centralized systems and the fairness of decentralized processes.

We're in user registration mode for a planned ERC-20 token that is redeemable in return for a waive on exchange fees using our platform.

A few things to note: 1. we are fully funded. 2. these utility tokens are only usable on our exchange, but aren't "access tokens" - the exchange is available to everyone. 3. We won't launch the token until we have the wallet ready. 4. The exchange goes live the moment the token generation event ends.

Here is our landing page where you can read the Personal Blockchains white paper and register your interest: https://symetria.io.

Here is a blog post that explains Personal Blockchains in simple terms https://medium.com/symetria-hq/personal-blockchains-a-disruptive-technology-for-centralized-cryptocurrency-exchanges-a440b685b9b2, and here is another that outlines our design-centric philosophy: https://medium.com/symetria-hq/why-design-will-take-blockchain-to-the-next-level-49caf95aba69

We want to know what you think - so please check us out, and reach out to us with suggestions/feedback, and if you are sold on this project, please sign up for updates or join our Telegram channel: https://t.me/symetria.

Thanks!!
