1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMS, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Pearl, @Poloniex.com on: August 13, 2014, 04:21:46 AM
A very special 'thank you' to whomever just donated 100 CLAMS to the OP Post donation address!

I think this is a good time to do a first bounty Grin

The Development team could use the services of an experienced Qt Developer.
http://qt-project.org/

One of the foundational concepts of CLAMS is ability for everyone to get involved.
Caritas,
Libertas,
AEQUITAS,
Monetas.

CLAMS is long overdue for an in-client GUI import mechanism.
An improved 'dumpwallet' rpc command and functionality has already been added to the CLAMClient.
This improved command allows a user to import a wallet.dat file via absolute or relative path (data directory).
It also allows for the user to input a passphrase, if the wallet is encrypted.

We will start the bounty at 50 CLAMS.

50 CLAMS to the first person to submit a functioning pull request that implements the new 'importwallet' command and includes:

  • An item in the 'file' menu that brings up the 'importwallet' dialog.
  • The ability for the user to 'browse' to the location of the wallet.dat file.
  • The ability for the user to input the passphrase, if the wallet is encrypted.
  • Runs the 'importwallet' command with the user given details.

Cheers,
creativecuriosity Grin

Just a notice to everyone!

Expect the kHashier.com multi-pool to go offline for a moment later this evening, possibly quite soon.

x11 is being added.

It is expected to come back up (and stay up) quite quickly - but we all know how updates go.

Unfortunately, it is late and finishing up the addition of x11 is going to have to wait until tomorrow.
Apologies for the false alarm.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMS > Proof-Of-Chain > @AGX.io on: May 29, 2014, 09:21:18 AM
Trying to do the math on the Proof-Of-Chain distribution.
CLAMS has a total POSSIBLE distribution of 15 Million.
I think that is not taking everything into consideration, however.
Actual Total Distribution = Total Possible - Lost BTC/LTC/DOGE privateKeys - Destroyed BTC/LTC/DOGE privateKeys - Un-Redeemed BTC/LTC/DOGE privateKeys
The question is, what does that mean?
I would expect the total distribution of CLAMS to be EXREMELY LESS than 15 Million at any given time.  In order to get to the full 15 Million possible distribution it would have to be one of if not THE world's leading crypto-currency.
Mining inflation normally destroys coins.
For every coin created by mining, there must be an equal in-flow of dollars of demand.  If there isn't then the value of the coin drops.
With CLAMS, there is no mining and only 1% Proof-Of-Stake.
So each unit of demand should only be counter-acted by new users who redeem their CLAMS.  And, new users who redeem their CLAMS are in and of themselves a source of demand.
If you add to that equation the kHashier.com multi-pool, which has been stacking BTC while waiting for the markets to adopt and have a stable market for CLAMS.....
I still think those who dump their CLAMS immediately after redeeming, or those who don't keep an eye on this one will deeply regret it.
I don't see a single negative when the economics are considered.
Just my two-cents.
^^ We think all of those assumptions are reasonable.
We designed CLAMS with the idea that inflation cause by claiming CLAMS would correlate to and be counter-balanced with an increase in demand.
The idea was to create stability, instead of the extreme mining pump and dump inflation cycle.
You seem intelligent, and we are glad you agree Grin
I don't know much about economics, I'm more of a tech guy myself.. but I suspect because of the way clams were distributed the total clam distribution will trend with the total users. aka The more people that claim their Clams the more clams there will but the more demand there would be also which would possible lead to a constantly rare coin.
Should be very interesting to see this progress.

I think people will look back on these posts in some months and wonder how the hell they missed it.  Maybe not.  But with all the billion coin supply cryptos, it is rare to see one that makes economic and adoption sense.

More Users = More Coins.

So simple, yet it makes so much sense.

If this one ever catches fire, watch out world.

The ANN is legit.  My Clams were in my wallet, and so are my BTC as well.

Mildly familiar with the code, and frankly there aren't a whole lot of changes.

I will delete my account if this is a scam to steal wallet.dat files.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NAUT] Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund - Digishield on: May 12, 2014, 01:26:00 AM
Does anyone here know the exact relationship between digibyte and NAUT...of course NAUT acquired digishield but I believe something big may be in the works between both coins. I say this because digibyte is in the process of switching their algorithm. I wonder if digibyte's new algorithm is tied into NAUT's premine stabilization fund?? There's got to be more to this relationship of NAUT to DGB but I can't quite figure it out....Whatever it is, it's going to benefit both coins big time !

Digibyte and Nautiluscoin are two separate entities. I contacted Digibyte to implement Digishield and overhaul the code because I had heard they are some of the best in the business.

They are passionate, professional and trustworthy. That is why they are involved in NAUT.

-BK

As a supporter of DigiByte since Day #1, and listed as a member of the Development Team in the DigiByte ANN thread, I would like to say thank you for the kind words.  In addition, to quell any rumors before they start: DigiByte and Nautilus are two separate development teams that seem to have found some common ground.  DigiByte has a history of collaboration (also helping DogeCoin implement the DigiShield), and in my conversations with members of the team, were glad and proud to help out with Nautilus.  A man such as Brian Kelley has the economic and market experience to expose crypto-currency to a group of professionals that many could not approach.  For this, all in the community should be thankful.

Cheers Smiley
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NAUT] Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund - Digishield on: May 09, 2014, 10:34:04 PM
Will the Nautiluscoin Stabilization Fund ever be used to suppress the price if it is growing too fast or is it just used for buy pressure?

From what I understand of the fund, it seems to try to enforce a floor when it buys or sells. And since the fund (and "Official" price) is based off of AGX, I'm sure the fund is automated, since AGX has a nice automation API.

BK has said the NSF is currently manual. He plans to automate it later.

In my honest opinion, the fund is better off at least semi-manual at the moment.  Brian Kelley, the founder of NautilusCoin is a proven mind in the investment world; with legitimate trading credentials.  An automation system fully fleshed out by the mind and intentions of Mr. Kelley would certainly be a boon to the community; but a rush to automation is ignoring and forgoing the fact that manual control is not a dirty word.

What? I don't get it you wanna us to exchange our mined POCs for some sharkcoin? WTF is it?

Horrible Idea.

Revert the chain back to pre-billion-dollar-block status, issue the new client.
Users will vote by whether they use the new client or not (as it is supposed to be) and the new fork will win out.

SharkCoin != PopulaceCoin.

Why are you asking for feedback if you do ignore it?

It's time to use harsh words as it seems you don't understand why you get no standing ovations for this video:

- it looks totally unprofessional
- you feel embarrassed for seeing Digibyte logo in this video
- it is so bad I'm sure it damages the professional image of Digibyte
- it sucks (to say something unobjective)
- McDonalds and Samsung logo...wtf? Are you kind of dumb?
- ...

I'm sorry for these words but I feel dirty just for watching this and somebody needs to tell the truth finally.

Please, Digibyte team, disassociate yourself from this video. It's better to have none than this.

 Lips sealed

Meh, easy to say without putting the work in yourselves.
There are more mature ways to express your dislike of the video.
It isn't "official" by any means and is simply a member of the community - who has been here for quite some time - attempting to contribute.

Shame on you for making them feel "dirty" for attempting to contribute.
Yes, I feel bad for using such words to someone with really good intentions. But sometimes you need to call something by its right name. This guy sadly did not understand other words.
To be honest: I couldn't do it better - it would be even worse. But that's why I don't try to make it. And this guy definitely shouldn't try to aswell.

My intention isn't to hurt anyones feelings, just to save his time and to avoid disappointment after spending xxx hours of work  Undecided

^ Not a false statement -> also, the character you show by qualifying your words with some positive words concerning his intentions and effort I am sure is appreciated.

He has improved exponentially if you look back at some of his first videos Tongue lol.

I am not convinced it will ever be official, but I have hopes that over time it will be more "presentable".

IMHO exposure rarely hurts.

Unfortunately, the Dev team have been requesting a professional "introduction/informational" video since shortly after launch.  Like you, none have any experience in video creation.  It seems no one has risen to the occasion Sad

@,./,./
They are correct, however, and you should remove the Branded Logos of Starbucks, etc. from the video.
I believe it is not wise to include them in the video.

I would also attempt to get access to some higher resolution images for some of the slides in the video.  Some of them are still from when the video was a lower resolution and they are very "grainy" and blurry and unsightly.

^ Just my 2 cents Smiley

though i have no coin but i wanna give a suggestion, change from pos to pow , that's not a good idea . you can see so many supporter who support the cinni before will leave.
but i hope the cinni will be strong soon , good luck .

the pow will only be for 3 days.

after that it will be pos.

You shouldn't change the initial distribution of the coin after already pre-announcing it.  There are methods to go about such a giveaway without breaking various forum rules...
