1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 11, 2016, 01:28:26 PM
The S9 has been sold out for a while, any news on new batches?

Its only been sold out for 2 days. They released a new batch 2 days ago https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1493601.msg16810866#msg16810866 and they sold out in a couple of hours.

Oh wow. Missed that one, thanks anyway.

Well I've seen a few good posts/video's about genesis-mining.com but I'm always a bit skeptical with those cloud mining solutions.

I know this question has been asked some time already but since then the price & opinions kept changing and I'm not sure what to think at this point.

Is it still worth investing in cloud mining/genesis-mining? If I take a look at the pricing for Scrypt it will cost $339 USD for 20 Mh/s, then if I look at a random profit calculator like whattomine.com for example and looking at, euh, Feathercoin with the current difficulty/award. It shows me the profit is about $2.72 a day, meaning i'll have my investment back in 124 days. This would be somewhat off so even if I put the reward at $2.0 a day it would take proximately half a year to make it back?

Feathercoin just as an example, but... Am I missing something here, or is this about right?

The compiled Windows is working fine here, however my virtual Ubuntu box is getting like twice the hashrate ;/ Sticking with that for now..

Stratum pool and solo capable miner! Our pool is up and running.

https://github.com/noncepool/m7m-cpuminer

edit: algo  is

Code:
-a m7mhash

Great work! Compiled it under Ubuntu and working like a charm.

I got an error on Ubuntu 14
Code:
./ubuntu_14_amd64_magi-qt_v1.0.0.1: error while loading shared libraries: libdb_cxx-5.1.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

sudo apt-get install libdb5.1++-dev

Any news on the stratum supported miner?

So... no pool miner?
What fail.

we are hosting it on our site, but there is no cpuminer yet that can connect to pools.

when someone develops "pugin cpuminer" with m7m algo, then you can connect to my pool.

Or you can make your pool accept http connections instead of stratum, then we can use the existing standalone miner.

I agree, by the time the updated cpuminer comes out you can always switch to stratum

Cooooooooooooool go go

Which is the best miner for windows ?

Wondering the same thing, the miner in the wallet or the standalone minerd?

So, at 5 we have to change the magicoin.conf to what? Could you post the definite conf.file?
And we can use the same magicoin-qt as the test right? Only different config

I agree with IMJim, some clear instruction won't harm anyone Tongue

Could you please plus 2 hours, it will be the good time for people around the world.

Thanks.

think that could be too later for Europe?

This is already a tad late for people in Europe, seeing it's Monday most of them have work/school the next day and don't want to wait till night to start mining.

Is there a miner binary available somewhere? Or do I have to compile it myself? It would be nice to have a working binary on the time it releases Tongue

Hey guys, question.. I have used 0 to 800000 plots for Drive 1 (just for testing) and plots 800000 to 1600000 for Drive 2, is it possible to expand the plots on Drive 1? If so, can i just adjust the batch file to start at 1600000?

That is exactly how to do it. Start the next plot where you left off in the previous file

Thanks Smiley

Does someone know how to stop the Error messages? I have finished making plots but I still get the error reading file errors...

Because you overlapped your plot files. Should really be a major issue. The first number is the starting point for the plot and the second number is the number of plots to create. How big/size is the drives?

Should or shouldn't Tongue? Because I'm still getting a pretty decent amount of shares still. Anyway one drive is about 1TB and one 500GB. But I think they're overlapping because i paused the plotting process once and started it over again at the point it stopped. Well guess I'd start over again then...
Does the "plot number order" really matter that much? I mean does it matter if i start at like 500000 and end at 900000 instead of 0?

Do I need to have 1 BURST to set the recipient address in order to mine on the pool?

Keeps giving an error:

{"errorCode":5,"errorDescription":"Unknown account"}

Yes I had the same problem, you need 1 BURST or else you'll get that message.
