1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][UBQ] Ubiq - Smart Contracts For An Automated World on: June 27, 2019, 08:09:32 PM
I’ve been mining, buying, and supporting  $UBQ for a year and a half now. Since joining their discord in April of 2018 I’ve literally learned most all I know from their devs, moderators, and overall community. When I came to the space I fell upon Ubiq for its integrity and honest project. I wanted to invest and be a part of a team that was legit, no-prime, no-ICO, and that had a real use case (enterprise / business stable alternative to Ethereum).

All that are in this space know finding a legit team that is going around through the future is massively important.  Standing through all the regulation that is coming in the short / long term is critical and Ubiq is set up for this. While many seek to find overnight “get rich” schemes, I know that this project will stand the test of time as they have stood through the test of the bear market. All through the big bear the dev team has been working. They’ve continued with all their ESCH governance token airdrops and have continued to innovate as they explore the possibilities of staking their ESCH governance token to run within the Cosmos Hub.

I know there can be a lot of critics in crypto - but I’m simply a normal business guy who was alien to crypto until a year and a half ago. I could not be more happy to be apart of the Ubiq community; learning from them all.

Excited for the future of what this team and project is capable of...
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EthOs Support - Rig AMD Rx 480 Six GPUs - Command Start Dont Run On EthOs. on: May 14, 2018, 02:02:29 AM
Did you get your issue solved? What coin are you trying to mine?

I mine Ubiq on ethOS and love it...but I was confused at first by the set up. I'm not an expert at it but was able to get going with some help from the team at the Maxhash pool where I mine Ubiq. They are really awesome and extremely helpful.

I can share my local confs settings if that helps you. For me, it was simply that the program 1.3.1 came as default "stratumproxy miner" and it needed changed to "stratumproxy enabled" That got me going pretty easy. Also, I put in "globalminer claymore" to get claymore mining which seems to work best in ethOS for hashrate.

Anyway, let me know some more details and I'll try and help. I love ethOS now that I understand how to use it better. It works amazingly well.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is this setup safe ? (Molex to Pcie adapter and satas...) on: May 14, 2018, 01:55:22 AM
I'm relatively new to mining (1 month in) so take my advice as you may...

I've read to never power more than 2 gpu's on 1 power cable and I've read to never use a molex to sata adapter connection (power conversion can get funky and overheat as molex draws more than sata and sata has a hard time converting). For my first 6 gpu rig set up I used 6 pin to sata adapters off my risers to the my 1200w Corsair PSU.

After more reading I ordered another 850w Corsair PSU and ordered more molex connectors (no adapters) to power my risers straight into my 2 PSU's (3 risers per). I now don't have any GPU's powered by more than 1 cable or any more than 1 riser powered by 1 molex cable. Now I've read that powering 2 GPU's one 1 molex power cable is fine but never with any adapters. Also 2 gpu's with 6 pin to sata adapters should be ok but never 3 on the same cable. My first set up I had to power risers on 1 sata cable because I didn't have enough ports on the 1200w corsair. It ran fine and never had any issues.

Anyway, ordering another PSU so I could go 1 cable for my GPU's and one cable for each riser is probably overkill but I wanted to ensure it was safe.

I had some reliable help from the guys at maxhash where I mine that helped me out with this.

Best of luck to you. Hope I could help add value in some way.

UBIQ is a really great project, but I think there are many other projects like ubiq with greater popularity.
In terms of mining - there are a lot of cryptonight-heavy coins, which are insanely profitable to be mined and RX580s are top-notch cards for this algorithm. If you are an ETH believer, you can always mine other coins and buy ETH afterwards. It should yield you 2-3$ more.
That's at least what I'm doing Cheesy

Correct on Ubiq not having as much popularity. They are a project with a focus on stability for businesses and enterprises that can use their fully vetted platform without the fear of bugs or issues since they are meticulous in testing for stability before adopting new features. Sometimes this hurts them in the near term as there isn't much news but I feel the careful and tactful approach will benefit them in the future.

Of course anyone would have to make their own opinion and do their own research but I do think in the coming years they are going to continue to gain relevance.

A side note is their Escher drops they are awarding for Ubiq holdings which will allow for voting and governance through their community.

Cleary I'm a believer in Ubiq but as previous post said, their are plenty of great options to chose from. Chose one that you think you will most benefit from or want to be involved in.

I mine Ubiq as I believe in the project long term. I had a lot of AMEX points built up over the years so decided to use the points to buy the rig. Spent around $3k (in point value not actual cash) to get a 6 GPU rig set up. Being new I literally had zero knowledge about mining but had been reading up on crypto and mining since January of 2018. But I knew I wanted to find away to get involved and invested into something that might likely see a high return in the future.

Anyway I purchased 6 Diamond rx580's 8gb GPU's off amazon along with 2 PSU's and a Asrock Pro BTC H81 with a cheap intel processor. (I know..."Diamond" --- seems no ones heard of them but I promise these GPU's do exist). I've been mining Ubiq for about a month now and while I'm still tweaking my rig I get between 3.5 - 4.5 Ubiq per day. On around 175 Mh/s average in the pool. I pay about .0571 kw per hour where I live so I think that's about average in the U.S. And since I didn't really spend anything for the rig; I wanted to get involved in a "mine & hold" coin that I think has a real future. Lastly I'm pulling about 850 watts from the wall.

Hope these are some facts to help you make a decision.

Also, I love Maxhash and mine Ubiq in their pool. They are great, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. They do jackpot giveaways weekly and only charge a fee if the pool produces.
