1  Bitcoin / Wallet software / BitcoinJS pushing transactions to the network on: September 10, 2014, 09:17:15 PM
Hi Guys so i'm just looking some of the javascript implementations of the bitcoin network mainly bitcoinJS and bitcore. I remember looking at BitcoinJS a few months ago before the v1 release and they had these inforgraphs, showing how the bitcoinJS-lib hooked up to bitcoinJS-server and web wallet. Since the V1 release of bitcoinJS-Lib it seems like the idea of the bitcoin nodejs server is forgotten about as the code hasn't been updated in 3/4 years.

So my question is (since there is no proper documentation) if bitcoinJS is just javascript implementation of the bitcoin functions and your not running a full node. How are the transactions relayed to the BTC network, would you still need to run bitcoind or btcd and send the fully qualified raw transaction via RPC to sendrawtransaction to push the tx out to the public ledger?

Maybe this helps:

We have conducted an internal investigation and can confirm, that from the 25th to 27th of September,
the GHash.IO pool was mining on the address: 1MA7CKbWMyKdPkmsbnwmfeLh1hYy5A3gy8
to which we do not have any access or connection.
...
Source: http://www.hotstockmarket.com/t/276680/bitcoin-miners-being-urged-to-leave-ghash-io-as-it-nears-51

lool from that post it seems a former ghash employee switched the mining address and got some free funds for several days

the last transaction on that address was 2013-09-30 10:00:03 nearly a year ago, looks like the op copied and pasted the wrong address and will be luky to get these back

Late reply, We are still mining on p2pool but decided to take down our public pool offering, we may re-open this soon but it will be after we put online our new UK node
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshin@gmx.com is compromised on: September 10, 2014, 01:04:15 PM
Theymos should be the one to do it and forward that email he got

I'm probably not going to do that. Responding to a clearly fake threat with violence (via police/government) strikes me as wrong and excessive, especially when it's just some stupid kid.

He hasn't caused much harm as of yet. He didn't steal any bitcoins or release any sensitive info. (The screenshots didn't contain any useful info.) The worst he's done is convince some people to send him a little money. I advise restraint, especially since we don't know for sure whether this kid actually is the hacker. I haven't seen much evidence of that.

Basically Theymos doesn't want the feds on his door with all the dogy shit he's linked to
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshin@gmx.com is compromised on: September 10, 2014, 12:43:48 AM
You guys ever think about leaving this kid alone?  Because if I was him at this point with everyone knowing me I think I would sign a $10-25k deal with Newsweek to Dox Satoshi to just be even more of a dick.

You leave the kid alone he might end up leaving Satoshi alone if he does have his info.

obviously this is the dumbass kids mate piping in while he cuddles the accused sad kid crying in his bedroom.

If Ross Ulbricht is being charged with planning to kill someone via a hitman surly this kid should be aswell for the threats made against Thymos
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshin@gmx.com is compromised on: September 10, 2014, 12:14:19 AM
I think the question remains. How he get access to the Satoshi's email account?

have you read this thread? its pretty much established that satoshis email password reset question was his birthday which was brute forced.

So is anyone in the USA going to step up to the plate and phone this into the police? The BTC community went SJW crazy last time someone tried to expose Satoshi, we should now and again in the future especially when its a dumb kid. At least it was only a dumb kid, who didnt truly appreciate what he could of done to BTC, as someone posted earlier they could of easily started rumours that they were about to dump their million coins and sent the market into a panic

where is groupbitcoins actual DC because EC1V 4PW is a mail forwarding address no way would a central london address offer a justifiable price for a dc location
9  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: dealing with un-educated neighbours on: August 26, 2014, 06:46:19 PM
In my country there would be one of 2 issues here (or both):

A Disturbing Noise is objective – a scientifically measurable noise level and generally compared to the existing ambient noise level.
A Noise Nuisance is a subjective measure and is defined as any noise that “disturbs or impairs or may disturb or impair the convenience or peace of any person.

So looks like it would be Noise Nuisance and have no idea what this entails in the UK, since you are saying that the disturbing noise is below the threshold (10db) which deals with the disturbing noise levels.

You are more than likely dealing with someone who normally gets their way by saying she will call the council.

Good luck

The only thing close i believe would be the "Environmental Protection Act 1990" 79(1)(g)

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1990/43/section/79

Quote
(g)noise emitted from premises so as to be prejudicial to health or a nuisance;

But they would have to specifically prove 5 bitcoin miners are causing them ill health, since i have a letter written from the neighbours stating their problem was "they couldn't enjoy their garden"

To prove it was a nuisance i would iterate the fact they also live next to a bus stop and 2 student accommodations as well as living under a known flight path
10  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Educate me about p2pool please! on: August 26, 2014, 04:30:13 PM
the most accurate way to find p2pools speed is to run p2pool and see that stats from the screen output
11  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: dealing with un-educated neighbours on: August 26, 2014, 04:23:58 PM
Tell her to go F her self?

since she was unable to listen to reason thats how the conversation was left, after i laughed in her face when she adamantly described distributed computing projects were illegal and "YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO DO IT IN PRIVATE DWELLINGS" guess she doesn't help on the SETI then Cheesy
'
closing the window makes the room too hot, since its a cold day ive managed to close one and keep the heat at a reasonable level.

i've read through "The Noise Act 1996" which is what they/ the council would use as legislation to decide if there is an issue here

http://archive.defra.gov.uk/environment/quality/noise/legislation/documents/noiseact-directions-approval2008.pdf

and it says

Quote
The permitted level
3. The permitted level of noise which may be emitted during night hours from an offending
dwelling or from offending premises shall be—
(a) where the underlying level of noise does not exceed 24 dB, 34 dB;
(b) where the underlying level of noise exceeds 24 dB, 10 dB in excess of that underlying
level of noise.

ive tested the noise with a few decible meter apps and on different devices even though its not approved equipment it managed to give me a ball park figure.
the environmental noise level without the miners running is 50db with the miners in my garden it hits 55db, since she lives two doors up im sure the levels will be even lower.

haha decimation was a miss spell defamation of character was what i was after, as im not running a mary-jew-aner grow op (any more Cheesy)

just a note, this isn't the biggest bitcoin mine in the UK  Cheesy
13  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Eduacate me about p2pool please! on: August 26, 2014, 11:20:12 AM
think of p2pool similar to bit torrent decentralised peer-to-peer.

p2pool that has different nodes you can connect to that make up the entire p2pool, you can either create your own node or join someone eleses, the fee paid depends on the pool you connect to.

to see the total power you can go to

or

14  Bitcoin / Mining / dealing with un-educated neighbours on: August 26, 2014, 10:52:11 AM
I live in a residential area in central/south london, underneath a heathrow flight path, with a bunch of hoodlums who hang around our street screaming and shouting as well as a Jamaican family who constantly blast out reggae and dance hall music, yet some old woman 2 doors up has been compiling to me for running a few miners in a spare room in my house, stating "she cant enjoy her garden in peace" yet she's never complained about any of the other distractions mentioned

She insits and decided to tell everyone on the street that we are operating a cannabis factory from our house. When confronted i didnt mention bitcoin but simply said i was running a distributed computing project and it was perfectly legal, but if she continued making slanderous remarks about me i will sue her for decimation and any loss of income if the police come round.

She now insists that you cant run distributed computing projects from private dwellings and that "she will be informing the council" which i really couldn't give a f*ck about  since im moving out in a few weeks.

Has anyone else had to deal with un-educated neighbours?
15  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dont buy miners from lketc.com Locked out SSH root to user, Stealing your hashes on: July 06, 2014, 08:41:28 AM

i do not want some slinty eyed chinese person having full ssh control over my farm and £100sK pounds worth of equipment.

You racist piece of shit! lost all my interest right there. I could have helped if you were being scammed but now i hope you are

i didnt ask for your help and even if i did you wouldnt have been able to especially since we spoke to their biggest official resellers who requested the ssh password for themselves and lketc still wouldnt release up the pass so some small fry on a forums not going to get it either unless you know some jedi mind tricks.
16  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dont buy miners from lketc.com Locked out SSH root to user, Stealing your hashes on: July 06, 2014, 02:51:40 AM
Never ever buy any products from China, buy US made poducts instead.
It is your own GREED,  that you made the decision to buy from Chinese.
Don't buy Bjorn Borg underwear from China, it will made your Dick grow smaller. Grin

lol both butterfly labs and hashfast have both been proven to be scam hardware suppliers so get off your high horse please, while the Chinese might be sneaky at least we get our products rather than waiting around for months and months while the owners go out and buy ferrari's with our money

Could you please be a bit more specific? I'll like to make sure my units aren't infected.

paranoia indeed

We found the machines are sending back encrypted packets back to a Chinese IP address, the packets are encrypted so we are not sure weather its sending back hashes or somethig more sinister.

We have re-wrote the lketc dragon miner software our self and found the units to be hashing 10% more, so likely stealing hashes from our power.

i will release more proof and our clean dragon miner software after more tests.

Hello bitcoin talk community, can anyone recommend any reliable ASIC PCB board manufactures in china?

much obliged!

You cursed all the Chinese people and stated you don't  want to buy from Chinky anymore, but now you are asking for pcb manufacturers from CHINA.
Your greed doesn't know any bondaries, I bet you will sell your soul again to buy from Chinese and then fuck them over.
Rinse and repeat.
Why not just buy from the US, no headache anymore?
Oh I forgot, you want everything cheap.

i slated lketc not the entire Chinese population you racist and if you read my threads properly i clearly state there are several Chinese supplier i buy from regularly and recommend/trust such as lightning asic or semtong.
