Excuse me, for this is a newb question, but I am a bit new to NXT.
With the current wallet client, you can type any passphrase in and it will basically open up.. what keeps someone from running through a shitload of different passphrases until he lands on something that has a decent balance? Password guessing without a username is the way I see it... there's got to be something I am missing.
Someone's already doing it. The only thing that keeps them from opening someone's account with a good balance is a difficult pass phrase. Make sure you use the pass phrase that the wallet client suggests, it's not crackable in any practical terms (billions of years, etc.). Failure to use a strong pass phrase will result in a loss of funds. A good pass phrase is the one with 128+ bit of entropy. The wallet offers a pass phrase of 128-256+ bit of entropy, so use it and you'll be safe. Most of the hacks of NXT wallets in the past were due to a weak pass phrase, when users made their own pass phrase, but it wasn't random enough, few characters, repeating patterns on characters, etc = bruteforceable. EDIT: you can combine what the wallet suggests with your own pass phrase to make it even safer EDIT: you can combine what the wallet suggests with your own pass phrase to make it even safer Yes, the wallet suggests a 12 word password. Add your name/username as 13th word. There is no way anyone in the world is cracking that. Check the entropy here for example: http://rumkin.com/tools/password/passchk.phpDon't type your real passord ! Change the words or letters you type but put the same number of characters to estimate. Over 128 bits is enough. The password MUST be random.Any password that is not random will be cracked through dictionary-attack. A dictionary-attack take for example all the sentences in the bible and try them one by one. Any account in the world using a sentence from the bible as a password will be hacked. Thank you all for the answers it all makes sense, I guess I was just a little awestruck that there's no username lol. Long and secure passphrases FTW

Yeah consistency is key here, and the problem with the re-branding is that nothing is consistent.
Who cares. Look at the coin. It sells itself. Buy now before the masses take notice. I agree, and I am but following the coin on twitter would be much easier if everyone used the same tags lol

Well, I think I know what is going on here. I'm thankful for tx42, the dev, all the people who have helped, and I will be staying far away from CCEX!!
Can't wait to see more detail/instruction on this app! I'd like to know more about it.

Can someone explain the TOKEN to a newb like me? Can TOKEN be sent to a standard NTX address? Thanks...
TOKEN is an asset on the NXT asset exchange which has partial ownership over several other assets (including VRC). It can be sent to a standard address. Thank you!

What if ssd can beat darkcoin and be worth 100k sat? hold and buy low!! Well lets be realistic... no anonymous coin has come close to darkcoin, but it should be an interesting ride once the app is released

I can imagine a situation where people donating about 100 VRC are holding as strong of a vote as someone who donated 100,000. You could get trolls coming out of no-where, getting together, and throwing 100 VRC each to swing votes in a direction that may not represent the community properly. I think weighted votes are the only way to do it.
Something like: 100VRC-1000VRC donated = 1 vote 1001VRC-10,000VRC = 2 votes 10,001VRC-30,000VRC = 2.5 votes 30,001VRC-50,000VRC = 3 votes
Just an example.. I'm sure it could be structured fairly, albeit I'm not the best to go for advice on this but it seems like a fair method to me...

The community is friendly, optimistic, and encouraging. Also, a strong development lead will help see this coin through the route of success. Welcome aboard, new members! I see quite a few buyers on the exchanges. Also as a side note, I love the name of this coin SSD is an easy acronym for people to recognize (with SSD HDD's etc) and I love the fun nature behind the full name.

I'm interested to see where this goes. The coin has huge potential... but such little exposure to the mainstream crypto enthusiasts. Time will tell, soon enough. So far, it looks very promising to be a top contender.
