141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | XCR | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | Trading has begun! on: August 20, 2014, 03:58:10 PM
I've been waiting for long to retrieve my Crypti from BTER. My trust on the Chinese is not very good.

Normally I'd tend to agree. But for those that aren't aware Bter seems to be very trustworthy. They admitted responsibility immediately after the Nxt theft. They were communicative on the nxt boards all throughout. Even now Bter is active on the nxt forums talking about the current fees and negotiating a deal with a Nxt whale to borrow 4 mill Nxt which they would then lower their withdrawal fee and payback in 6 months. Chances of Bter not following through with XCR escrow is about .01%

lin enabled nxt 2day.
SO he been back and not jetlag anymore.
whats excuse now, hu.....?
need another 48 hour? 3 days? 7 days? 10 days? 20? 30? 40? 50? ethereum datE? next year? Give time so unprofessional

NO FUD NO FUD AM HOLDER OF XCR. BUT PLZ, can u assure ur investors !!! each time i open thread i see postpone i just want HONEST answer when and not "ok in 48 hrs, ok, next 48, ok in 3 days, next week" just HONEST

It is not the devs' fault that you do not understand English. Clearly EVERYONE is telling you there is no date or time for estimated launch because we are waiting for Bter. The devs have no control over the actions of another human being. If Bter dev says they will get to it when they can what can we do? Can you give us a set time for when your mother is going to market? What if she decides there is enough cookies in the house so she can shop a few days later than planned? Is that your fault because you told all your friends that there will be plenty of Oreos for your Nintendo party?

Thanks for the links super3. I wasn't thinking.

So I have to consider buying some storjcoin too now? I would very much appreciate if one of the storj guys could give an honest description for the layman as to why storjcoin will have value and what is it? I already know the reasons why an investment in sianotes can potentially make a big return. Can someone at storj explain storjcoin's goal pretty please?

Thank you for the update and for providing them candidly. You guys have convinced me in the ginormous potential sia has. I am hypnotizing you right now. You are special. You will dominate cloud storage by solving problems others can not. You will make me millions thereby making yourself hundreds of millions. You will make sure Disney does not ruin Star Wars. The last one being the hardest to accomplish.

This is the best post on BTT today.  Trust me, I've read them all.

Thanks msin. This thread was derailing too much with sia development updates and discussions on the future of crypto cloud storage.

148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread on: July 28, 2014, 02:38:11 PM
So i have to wait 20 blocks to let the buyer pay the btcs? why the exchange allow people to put buy orders without bitcoin? i dont understand, very bad exchange it needs improvement, orders should be executed instantly or in this case waiting maximum 1 confirmation in the blockchain..

The devs are working to make it better and if anyone can offer realistic examples of improvements that can be implemented, let them know here or on Github.
Traditional exchanges are one of faster options for centralized XCP/BTC trading: https://www.counterparty.co/xcp/ has a list.

Counterparty is not a centralized exchange like Bter. Bter takes your bitcoin and escrows it to match orders quickly and all that but you are giving them your coins and trusting that they will never run away with it. Counterparty can do what Bter can do plus be 100% trustless if you use the native currency XCP or any Asset created in counterparty. When you trade XCP for ABC asset counterparty itself escrows everything and therefore you never have to worry about ANYBODY stealing them. Counterparty lives on top of bitcoin so it actually has the ability to trustlessly trade with bitcoin too. The problem is the user paying the bitcoin must do so manually (or allow auto btcpay but must be logged in when order matches) after an order match because Counterparty is not bitcoin. But the advantage of Counterparty is that you even have this ability to trade with bitcoin. Because every Counterparty address is also a bitcoin address. You can not do that with an alt coin.

In my official capacity as puny humans communicator I have no information to relay. I just hope he is okay. For anyone worried he abandoned the project I say there is less than .00004% chance he did. If he did I'll eat my hat. Imo he is probably acting like a mad scientist, unshaven and forgot what day it is. He'll log in after he remembers he hasn't eaten in 2 days.

Hi, I bought some XCP on BTER about a few hours ago. 81.4xxx XCP worth 0.34BTCto be precise. I transferred them to the Counterwallet about 7 hours ago from BTER and they still haven't arrived there yet. I used one of the addresses provided in the wallet - 1QHVjcE7o5zfK9MYcaM9oHUTjAQmYQjy56. Normally, how long do they take to arrive in the counterwallet Huh Should I be worried Huh Are my XCP lost Huh
It shows 'Array' in the transaction ID in BTER Huh

Withdrawals from BTER usually do take a while, so you shouldn't be worried yet. If your XCP don't arrive in the next few hours, however, you should contact BTER support.

Actually for me XCP withdrawals from Bter have always taken a few minutes to show up on blockchain.info. I withdrew 900 XCP today and after it didn't show up on the blockchain after 5 minutes I knew something was wrong. I went to the deposit/withdrawal page and XCP is not even listed. So you are not the only one. I initiated a support ticket 7 hours ago and have not heard back. I am thinking either problems with counterpartyd on their end or worse a hack and they froze XCP withdrawals and are sorting things out before they announce anything. I hate centralized exchanges.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Sia: Siacoin (scn) and Siastock (stk) on: July 05, 2014, 09:31:27 PM
So then maybe dumb question but does that mean the lawyers you've talked to say the money I'll be making from siastock is legal?

There aren't any clear regulations around this type of product. We sold you something that'll generate you income, except in many ways it feels like a financial instrument. The SEC for the most part has been playing nice with Bitcoin related tech. Some companies have gotten busted for illegally selling equity, but Sianotes are not equity and are thus protected against that specific case.

I wish that I could give you a definitive yes, but our lawyers said the best they could do is "it's probably not going to be a problem." There's no law that clear-cut makes it illegal, and there's no law that makes it seem likely to be illegal. But the laws are so complex and convoluted that if some regulator decided it needed to be illegal, they could likely find some wording in an existing law and use it to prosecute us. They don't think that will happen though.

If we do receive any sort of notification or attention from the SEC (which is the body that is most likely to want to regulate Sianotes), we'll let everyone know immediately.

I personally don't see it being a problem. I also know that the name 'Siastock' isn't going to stick around, because it's very much not stock in the traditional sense, and we don't want regulators making that mistake. I haven't figured out a good replacement name yet though.

That is the answer that should have been expected. Its kind of a reminder to us all that although your idea for siacoin is superb and sianotes sold like hotcakes this is still a risky investment with no guarantee of anything. That being said if you are successful I fully expect a huge return on investment. As for the new name to siastock I wouldn't even attempt at suggesting a proper name. I think you two can come up with something appropriate when the time comes. Commence obligatory members posting name suggestions.

Ok, puny humans, to help with the hosting situation a withdrawal fee of 0.5% + 0.0001 BTC will be introduced one week from this day.

On behalf of the puny humans against overlords alliance I approve this decision.

It is with great reluctance that I have agreed to this calling. I love democracy. I love the Republic. Once this crisis has abated, I will lay down the powers you have given me!

Nxtchg is more patient and loving of his people than I am. I would be like "Hey, I'm the genius around here and I don't have time to run this exchange anymore. I'm busy creating the best simple instant payment system for my future minions of earth to trade for trinkets and shiny baubles. If you don't like it too bad so sad."
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SIM] Simcoin - A Simple Coin on: July 04, 2014, 07:14:51 PM
Simxchg takes too much of your coding and thinking time. I never wanted it and I don't think it is needed any longer. Those who wanted to dump did so. Now is the time for overlord to put on his Reeboks and pump it up to show its serious time. Announce like a final 3 day sale for anyone who wants to dump or panic buy and let us wait for a finished mind blowing simcoin to emerge.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SIM] Simcoin - A Simple Coin on: June 26, 2014, 06:24:08 PM
why there is not sell orders yet? i can buy some stakes at NXT-AE.

2 guys bought all Nxtblg's Simcoin asset. There are no sells because they probably bought it to own some Simcoin not trade them on AE.

when we can launch on a good exchange

After simcoin is finished and released we will promote it to the reputable exchanges.

I like it when the people I've invested in tell me the bad news is some extra work to implement the really good news. I'm going to buy a happy meal now.

Announcement:

I no longer volunteer full-time with Counterparty, although I will still help out informally whenever I can.

My experience at Counterparty was fantastic. I learned a lot and was able to have a positive impact on a project that created the future of finance. Very cool.

My shift in focus will allow me to spend more time on my Counterparty-powered startup which will have an official announcement shortly.

I have no patience, I want to know what the heck it could be.

Poor you. Sitting on 60% of a 500.000$ market cap. Luckily you are the kind of Alien Overlord that doesn't settle for pocket change.

I'm the kind of investor that doesn't settle for pocket change either. BUY, minions, BUY!

This is for newbies who don't read page 1. The 60% that our dictator holds is to be distributed further down the road by giveaways, bounties and supporting the network. He is thinking of the best way to widely distribute via a giveaway. Rumor has it if you ever googled the search term "Britney Spears Nude" check your email for some simcoin.
