Heh I have some Casascius 2012 and 2013 and was thinking to grade them. The thing is I am from Argentina. is there any specific grading company I should consider for mu coins or finding a local one would be suitable?

Bitcoin se inventó por primera vez en el año 2035 por un conocido criptógrafo, pero al año ya habían encarcelado a su inventor. 20 años después un millonario de BTC crea una máquina del tiempo y viaja al 2030 para crear Bitcoin por 2da vez.
Esta vez lo hace desde el anonimato para no cometer el mismo error del anterior, pero a los 2 años lo descubren por sus rastros digitales y lo encarcelan. 16 años después, otro millonario de BTC crea una máquina del tiempo y viaja al 2025 para crear por tercera vez el Bitcoin.
Ahora sin nombre y con más cuidado de sus rastros, pero éste termina usando sus btc minados al principio y lo descubren a los 6 años. Asi que, 14 años después, ooootro BTC millonario inventa una máquina del tiempo y viaja al 2008 para publicar una 4ta versión, ya con anonimato, sin rastros y sin usar los primeros BTC. Este 4to personaje se llama Satoshi Nakamoto.
Por ahora viene zafando bien parece, pero debo decirles una cosa... yo estoy a pocos días de terminar mi máquina del tiempo.

Basta de chamánico, yo traigo la Posta. Yo hago lectura de Bolas. Mi gato vomitó tres bolas de pelo, primera con cara de Trump, la segunda con cara de Buffet y la tercera con cara de Elon Misk. Yo interpreto que la prinera será que se viene una pared mentirosa que va a asustar a muy pocos, la segunda que algú dinosaurio va a salir a criticar para tirarlo abajo, y la tercera que Bitcoin no va a llevar a Marte!

Thanks for linking to old auctions and raising my attention about the website’s bidding unaccuracy. I don’t see that many around anyway so for sure it’s scarse and a beautiful piece to have. I didn’t say a price for my piece, nor have heard anyone’s price either. I understand 7.4 BTC was a price for one and 16 BTC for other on this forum. But when there’s no run to sell there’s just a price to ring the bell. And that’s what happens with colectibels they just get nicer and more valuable with time. 😘

I would love to know the total amount of these out in the wild that people know about... has to be around 10-20? Damn I wish I could be able to afford this thing, but I know this will be out of my price range since you know who is watching ^^^   Less than 10 known. Most offered above 1mm. |

I still have several unopened Casascius Coins form 2012 and 2013 and never even thought about grading them. I even have the original emails for each purchase set and Mike’s wallet list included in each pack. They are in mint conditions.
So what for should I grade them? I been selling them in Argentina with no issue. But... Who does this grading? Can it be done in every country? How do they do so, meaning based on what?
Also, what are market prices today for 2012 and 2013 coins, being them brass?
I'm not sharing pictures as said, they are several and this is more a general question.

As some of you know, I authored: bustapay (bip79) and published a reference implementation of it along with onboarded a major service. I believe that bustapay itself has the most potential to further the goal of "practical bitcoin privacy", where even the smallest penetration of bustapay payments results in outsized privacy gains for both participants and the bitcoin system at large. Unfortunately bustapay itself suffers from a pretty big "chicken and egg" problem: No one wants to implement support for receiving bustapayments when wallets don't support it. Wallets don't want to support it when no one supports receiving it. I also believe that the best way to incentivize development is offering by offering concrete rewards for concrete work. So I propose (some of) the coinjoin bounty fund is used to offer compensation to a bunch of wallets for implementing support. Something like offering 2 or 3 bitcoin to each "major" wallet that implements full support. (And to be clear, I'm not requesting/wanting/needing any of the bounty for myself.) I support this demand too. Bustapay is a good effort to help in the privacy aspect and I think that not using the funds is worst than using them to provide willingness to participate. I think Maxwell Theymos and Pieter still have access to the funds as they moved them for consolidation but it would be great to have some confirmation. |
