1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Future of GPU on: May 08, 2014, 11:57:34 PM
I'm sick of seeing people post some shitty companies website and claim they can mine this algo or that with an ASIC.

Unless it is RELEASED and IN SOMEONES HAND then do not compare it and do not post about it for fucks sake, you seem like hopeless idiots just waiting for the next best thing.  That, and your wasting your fucking money.

Personally, with the temps raising I switched to DRK over a month ago and forgot about my 3 rigs.  Some people think it's a shitty coin, but what I had nearly tripled in value one night and has held since then.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2015 the end of normal scrypt mining with GPU's? on: March 29, 2014, 02:53:37 PM
Scrypt will fade away, Litecoin will stay but the difficulty will just keep being pushed higher due to the sheer amount of ASICs (KNC and Gridseed are the only 2 I believe will actually/have made product.  I believe KNC is using any prototype(s) now while still very profitable).

People will scoop up DOGE by the boatload just because it still has some value, but not for long.

ASIC resistant coins are the way to go.  Bitcoin started with the techies, and ultimately will end with them.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [AUTO SWITCH] ScryptGuild (BTC Guild) Beta - Multipool Done Right on: March 27, 2014, 12:18:57 AM
Eleuthria, today i made 0,00609739 BTC/MH/Day with Scrypt-N after mining Vertcoin and exchanging it to BTC thru Cryptsy... is it possible to get Scrypt-N auto-switch pool? its more profitable and ASIC Scrypt resistance

Was this per vert MH?  or compared to regular scrypt MH?  Because essentially vert 1/2's your regular rate, so if you made that in vert mh, thats only 0.003048695 / regular MH.  Unless I read it wrong, just trying to get what you meant.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU confusion. Which one for a budget miner? on: March 25, 2014, 08:01:06 PM
If your using a 9800 GT, I would look into cudaminer.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167229.0  You'll get much better kh/s with this program and can do scrypt, scrypt-jane, vert, and keccak.  The dev seems to be adamant about keeping one mining program to handle all the algos.

I understand wanting to save some money and get hardware that is a little older, but the new GTX 750 Ti seems to be a great kh/$/w card now that cudaminer has been heavily updated.  Look at this article  http://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/gtx-750-ti-cudaminer/  6 cards do 1625 kh/s at only 432 W... and $139 a card.    These are the R9 270's of NVidia.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: thoughts on the new KNC scrypt miner & the effect it will have on scrypt mining on: March 24, 2014, 04:24:01 PM
Can I know the reason you actually invested in 2 of those? I've been running numbers and even when I'm optimistic, those miners, once they hit the market, will never see ROI.
If you hope LTC will jump in value than you should of just bought LTC.
So why on earth did you invest so much without doing basic homework? And if you did, can I see your numbers?

the people who get them first will be fine. it is the people who get them months late AND after the
asic companies mine the crap out of them.. will be in rough shape.

KNC will obviously mine the shit out of the chips before shipping.

It is a race to the bottom. I agree buying some cheap LTC would probably be smarter if you think it will go up.

If the Titan is real, I believe they are using it now.  And why would ASICs raise the price?  As more multipools join in right now the prices have been going down for almost every other coin, some becoming worthless and not included within a week of being adopted.  Even with tens of thousands of MH pushing shitcoin blocks through, the prices are STILL dropping.  ASICs will just make those running only scrypt worth even less.  LTC might be the only exception, but that is a far shot in my book.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is N-Scrypt.. really worth considering? looks full of flaws logically... on: March 24, 2014, 03:03:36 PM
I own both asic and gpu i spread my risk but i'm being as realistic and un bias as i can this shit needs to stop however you want to justify your statement about "this is just about asic owners justifying" "...bullshit, as if gpu miners arnt complacent and to comfortable that they don't like the idea of having to sell off their gear and scale up or morph into other projects that make money...good things don't last forever..none of them are helping anyone by trying to make a coin that suits there hardware because i guarantee i'm not buying anymore gpu! because frankly gpu mining has been the most pain in the ass and to me the biggest waste of time ive ever come across

GPU mining has already almost ROI for me, maybe you just suck at putting together computers.  It took maybe 2 hours to build and configure, been running 24/7 since.  Only recently moved a couple over to Vert, which took 20 minutes to change from regular scrypt.

I had an ASIC SHA256 miner, but sold it just 2 days before it dropped almost 50% in price and 30% in efficiency in one difficulty jump.

I also bought all of my rigs in late November-December full well planning on selling around May and re-evaluating mining as a whole.  Considering how fast SHA256 changed, how fast Scrypt is changing, I'm still sticking to it.  I've already gotten most of my investment back, and the rigs are still at 80-100% of what I bought them for, I'm still on track to double my money.

Good luck trying to sell Gridseeds for $200 / e even by the summer Roll Eyes

And the difference between 1 and 40 isn't much.  Your still looking at over 170 days before ROI, and that's with 0% difficulty, and cheap electric at 0.06 (which is what I pay), starting today.  1% difficulty your looking at near next year.  2% increase puts them into 2015 before your seeing a profit.  https://bitcoinwisdom.com/litecoin/calculator  Show me a calculator that says otherwise and I'll STFU.  Kiss

If you can get them for $100-$150 then I consider it good profit, and worth buying hardware that is essentially worthless outside this "space".
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is N-Scrypt.. really worth considering? looks full of flaws logically... on: March 24, 2014, 02:27:33 PM
This thread is pretty much full of Scrypt-ASIC orderer's who want to convince themselves that their purchase wasn't worthless, by telling everyone that ASIC-resistant coins will never happen or take hold.

How is it greed that the single rig operators want to still be able to make money off their hardware?  I think it's greed from the ASIC purchasers, telling the community to stop making or developing a coin that their preordered device can't mine!

I'm sure you Titan purchaser's are solely buying it to secure the blockchain and make the network more secure and the world a better place  Roll Eyes

BlissDevices is another company with fake images up.  None of those products exist in any real sense yet or outside of paper ideas.

Alpha T is a bust, people in that thread are scrambling to figure out where their money is and hoping to even get a refund.  BFL round 2.

Gridseeds are worthless tech that are dropping fast in price, and will never see a ROI unless you purchase 40+.  Then your stuck with specific hardware that can be resold for peanuts by the time it is close to breaking even...

AlcheMiner is another scam ASIC scrypt miner site trying to steal your money.

So go ahead, convince yourself that ASICs are key and you will be able to mine any and every coin out there, regardless of algorithm.  New companies are popping up everyday with preorders and photoshop devices, get on it!

If you think your ASIC can just "make a switch and change a setting" to do Scrypt-N, you are very wrong.  Read this and hopefully you will understand http://kolinevans.wordpress.com/2014/03/02/why-there-could-be-a-mini-revolution-occuring-in-crypto-currency/

I'm about to launch a $5000 500 MH/s Scrypt-ALL miner, it does Scrypt/-N/-Jane, x11, and heavy algos ALL AT THE SAME TIME.  Only 1 BTC to secure your unit!  1DXcJTGf88mLVtJGimYnMiiUmFih34UuHV

Anybody else bought shares in this?

Does seem kind of shady.  You don't even have a real exchange up yet...
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: March 23, 2014, 08:26:39 PM
Why not post the settings your trying to use?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yo El Dude on: March 23, 2014, 06:23:35 PM

have you become confused with dates or something?  doge has been at 300 down to 20 up to 300 again and now at 120 ish.

No I'm not confused with dates, what graphs are you reading?
Yes, it has fluctuated from ~300 down to nearly 10, and back up to ~300 again.  That was on January 22nd, lowest on the 27th, then the highest EVER on February 11th.
Like I said before, I had my best sale over 2 months ago.

Viewing it as a trading coin, yes it is capable of making great profits because of the range it covers.  That range just keeps getting smaller.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: does anyone know why vtc is so strong on: March 23, 2014, 04:54:21 PM
I seem to be thinking very childish and elementary on this, but couldn't you stop ASICs by making the algo REQUIRE a GPU or CPU?  Have some sort of hardware detection process, and if you don't run a certified AMD/NVIDIA GPU or Intel/AMD CPU then it won't give you work/shares.

I'm not sure if that is really possible in the realm of mining, just something I thought of the other night.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yo El Dude on: March 23, 2014, 04:49:41 PM
Whatever, you guys may not like El Dude but he is right on.  LTC is the only coin to have dropped in value and consistently come back up, and even over where it fell from.

The best sale I ever had from DOGE was 2 months ago, and has continued a downward trend week after week.  Sure, it has a "community" and people think it's funny.  It's not a serious coin though, or it would have come back to even 1/2 it's value in the past 2 months -.-
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is this a good deal? (7950s) on: March 23, 2014, 03:42:33 PM
ASICs will impact some coins, but there are ASIC & Multipool resistant coins as well.  If they take hold then GPUs can still compete well through 2014.  I just switched one rig over to Vertcoin, it does take some time to get the settings right for 0 HW errors.

Most of my hash power is directed at Scryptguild currently, because I hold onto LTC also.  I didn't see the option on Clevermining or Wafflepool to hold any altcoins at all.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin Settings/Configs (How To Mine VertCoin) on: March 23, 2014, 03:13:28 PM
Here's what I've gotten so far on a test rig, it's just 3 random cards (Sapphire 270x, Vapor 270x, AMD 7950) which usually does ~1.3 MH/s.

I can probably get a little more, but no HW errors makes me happy!  I'm glad I found this thread, I had WAAAYY too high TC's at first.  This is with 8193 TC on 2 cards and 22400 on the 7950. Seems like the 2 x 270x's are underperforming just a bit (they were ~470 e, I'd be happy with 200-210 vert mining)  Does anyone have recommendations for my setup?  Here's my config file

Why would you preorder for something that has no guarantee of actually showing up on time, or at all?

Setup GPU rigs, at least you can do that NOW and is not that hard.
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining Safety on: March 22, 2014, 03:31:27 PM
Do you really think the point in bitcoin mining to talk about safety has arrived? In my opinion there is absolutely nothing to worry about

I hope you plug all your miners into one circuit and the wiring catches fire then.
17  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Nearly burned down my home due to mining farm (tips on how to stay safe ) on: March 22, 2014, 03:22:56 PM
Sounds like you had bad wiring in your house, and once you put a constant 80%+ amp load on the circuit the wiring heated up and eventually caught.

Just because it ran for a week doesn't mean your OK, you need to make sure you don't exceed 70-80% of the circuit amperage.

I've seen many houses in my area catch on fire from electric heaters.  Those big ones pull 8A - 15A alone from the socket and easily overloads it.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is better, Dogecoin or Litecoin? on: March 22, 2014, 03:15:20 PM
I've been back on forth with holding DOGE.  Like many others have pointed out, it is a very "popular coin" and has a good chance of being more mainstream than LTC.

Also pointed out already but I have to reinforce, whatever coin takes hold of everyday use will be the winner.  Go into any city and ask 100 people what bitcoin is and I would be shocked if even 5 people could give you an explanation.  So far only one of my friends knew, but only heard it is a crypto-coin.  Beyond that, I have to explain where/how to get coins, why, how it is used, etc.  They are not technology people though, I get blank stares and "Oh, interesting..." and that's it once the explanation is over.

Yet, you can go on reddit and people that are f*ckin idiots think Dogecoin is fun, cool, and innovative.  That's why I think it will win in the long term.  Stupid people who know nothing about crypto in the first place like it the most.  I'm not saying all doge fans are idiots, just seems like more idiots are doge fans.

Personally, I only hold onto BTC, LTC, and DOGE, with the last being held only because I see possible real potential for common-use in society.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: R9 280x Tahiti only 120 bucks? on: March 22, 2014, 01:13:01 PM
I've ordered parts from aliexpress before like an iPod 30gb motherboard, but damn not recently.

Has anyone noticed the ridiculously low prices on phones too?  Supposedly 1:1 copies of Samsung SIV's (quad, 2g ram, 13 mp camera, 1920x1080 screen) WITH LOGOs all over them, for $150.  Galaxy Note 3's for the same.

If that is true then fuck mining.  I'm about to order one for myself.

tygarbyte, did that happen to you?  What did you order?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mazacoin >> PUMPTrain Vol 2 on: March 21, 2014, 07:39:30 PM
Stop making shit coins and turning alt-coins into a bigger joke.

People like you make cryptocurrency look like a scam.

Oh hey, remember those 3 piece of shit coins I made before that were artificially inflated and all turned out to be shams?  Well I got another for you...
