An update from the developer of the sports betting platform and online casino, so he informs that the online casino code is finished and testing is due today, after which the beta version of the online casino will probably be released, and the blockchainbets.club UI will be significantly redesigned.

402  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: solomining probability calculator on: January 30, 2023, 08:07:46 AM
The mention of the difficulty of the network is confusing because in the final case, the probability of finding a block in solo is calculated based on the speed of the miner and the total hashrate of the bitcoin network or is the difficulty of the network still used in the calculation?
For example NiceHash does not take into account the current difficulty of the bitcoin network https://www.nicehash.com/blog/post/how-is-solo-mining-probability-calculated?lang=en
403  Other / Meta / Re: New bitcointalk rank? 🔥 on: January 30, 2023, 07:40:40 AM
I remember that day, when the merits become a thing in the forum. Since I was a Legendary user at that point I get instant 1000 merits, and when I realize other users have to get those 1000 merits to become a legendary user I really feel bad for them.

It has been a long time, this week was the 5th birthday of the merits system as we can see in this thread ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0 ). And a lot of people have worked hard to become legendary user in the forum. So, I was thinking...

Let's rest 1000 merits to all the legendary users from those who get 1000 merits and make a new raking for those who haven't hit the 1000 merits. For example, if you have 1990 merits, then you will be 10 merits away from legendary, but you will have the new rank until then.

What would be a good name for this new rank?

That's called power creeping.

Quote
A certain flaw in game balance design, where content released later tends to get more powerful as time goes. This can be seen in multiplayer games that have regular expansions or balance patches.

The merit system was created because people were creating account farms and it was too easy to do it. Merits didn't stop the farmers but slowed them down. Maybe the old farmers got away with it because they already had an army but it did stop the newbies from creating new farms.

I don't think we need more of this thing. Getting to legendary is already hard enough. No need to turn this forum into an RPG where you upgrade items and ranks.

Reading the topic, too, in my head all the time, I did not leave the thought of turning the ranking by the gradation of the rarity of heroes into an RPG, it remains only to add the divine rank and there will be complete completeness. Smiley
404  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 30, 2023, 07:00:09 AM
In addition to activity, everyone now has a merit score, and you need both a certain activity level and a certain merit score in order to reach higher member ranks. The required scores are:

RankRequired activityRequired merit
Brand new00
Newbie10
Jr Member301
Member6010
Full Member120100
Sr. Member240250
Hero Member480500
LegendaryRandom in the range 775-10301000
I started as a new user when I had no good ideas. and I was in the band New Posting. Since then I started discussing in this forum and later my activity increased. and at this present time I Jr. member I am at rank. However, I did not know the rank of the member in how many posts. at this moment, I was able to read the rank requirements post. I think this post is very important post for all new forum users.

This often happens when a person does not attach importance to merits and ranks, if he registers here just to get acquainted with individual topics that interest him, not everyone has intentions for promotion and so, for example, I lost several years just reading the forum and not participating in the discussion Smiley, you can also read the FAQ on ranks and merit are here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0

Now when you click on the link provided by the OP, you can see that slots.the video is for sale for $299.99, so I hope no one here has transferred funds to support the so-called project, stay away from such investment offers.

406  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin mining at home on: January 29, 2023, 10:50:18 AM
If you are in favorable conditions in terms of obtaining energy from solar panels and have the financial ability to install solar panels, then you can significantly reduce the cost of paying for electricity for mining, but again this requires an initial significant investment. Smiley

409  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Core Scientific Mining Company is headed for bankruptcy on: January 29, 2023, 09:04:09 AM
I don't think they intend to go bankrupt yet, judging by their updated data that relate to the end of last year, everything looks quite optimistic so in November there were 243,000 in operation and in December 234,000 owned by both Core Scientific itself and jointly hosted ASICs (November-91,000 and December-80,500) so here's the drop mainly due to the reduction of Asics hosted by customers. In November, Core Scientific mined 1,356 BTC and 1,435 BTC in December, as well as 795 BTC and 931 BTC for customers in November and December.

410  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Buy new mining equipment, don't be penny wise pound foolish! on: January 29, 2023, 08:33:47 AM
Yes, the reason new ASIC comes off it because of the hardware efficiency but I do believe the huge mining farm not gonna replace all of it when the new hardware is out. Instead they are gonna using it till not profitable again or only do a slight profit then they will sell it.

Back a couple years ago I buy some used ASIC but Im doing it for fun only  Grin. If you have cheaper electricity or even free electricity buying a used one is always be a better option.

Well, if the mining farm is really huge, then it does not change all the miners at the same time, all this happens in stages and as new equipment is released, there is a consistent replacement of outdated and failed miners. In addition, if you have a bunch of devices, then you have the opportunity to replace certain elements, the same Bitmain sells components.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Arbitrage betting (Surebets) on: January 29, 2023, 07:59:49 AM
It seems to me that arbitrage betting can make a profit if you are a really advanced player and know how to make such bets so as not to be caught, for the rest it can bring only a small amount while you risk being limited by the bookmaker, it's worth it, I think not.
412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin limitation (self challenge) on: January 28, 2023, 05:19:34 AM
A good solar power setup is much better than buying a generator in the long run. Generator needs diesel or gasoline to run, which will cost you a lot, while solar power needs only bright lights from the sun. If you're going to use your solar power efficiently, it could help you to learn more about Bitcoin and earn Bitcoin. It's very hard in your current situation because of so many things you don't have. There's a saying that "where there's a will, there's a way", which is very true.

Of course, the presence of solar panels would be an ideal solution for the OP, but this requires additional funds in which, judging by his story, he is limited. But just the fact that a person striving to study bitcoin, including, has solved to some extent his problem with power outages, already inspires hope that he will persistently go further.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Genesis Bankrupt, Impact on BTC? on: January 28, 2023, 05:11:17 AM
it may have a lil bit of impact but if other positive news will come out, this negative news will be masked by good ones. and so the market may just move on. unless, they will be dumping a lot of btc in the market, but they are not. i guess, it is only their time to file for bankruptcy. i have used genesis mining services before. with all the troubles they have encountered in the previous years, i believe, they are indeed going into this bankruptcy state
They are not going bankrupt, they are already and have filed for bankruptcy. When Three Arrows Capital, Alameda Research and ftx all collapsed, it was sure that Genesis would too because it was exposed to all of these companies that bit the dust. I don't think there have been any impact of Genesis' collapse on BTC's price, Genesis have filed for bankruptcy and BTC is still in its mini recovery phase, just one negative news cannot have too much impact on BTC's price, it is usually a combination of many events that affects the price of BTC, and i think it is time for people to stop spreading fear because of Genesis' file for bankruptcy.

So far, it can be affirmed that the collapse of genesis has not had any effect on the market, the market is doing well even when this news comes out. But also have to add one thing genesis is not as big as FTX or Luna, so it may not affect the market, or information about the bankruptcy of genesis does not seem too difficult to predict because the news about them has been going on for many months.

Well, so far the collapse of Genesis as such has not happened and it seems to me too early to talk about the consequences and they are not willing to say who is in their debt, although the list of creditors is described in great detail, whether Genesis will pull DCG will be seen soon.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Power Slap League on: January 28, 2023, 04:48:59 AM
I also can't understand how bets can be placed on this and how the decision is made by the judges in favor of one or another participant, as far as I understand, a strong neck and a high pain threshold are of great importance here, since the force of the blow is about the same.
415  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: NiceHash is paying 6% more than mining Bitcoin traditionally on: January 28, 2023, 04:29:11 AM
@willi9974 organizes mining in a fold by organizing mining lotto by renting power from NiceHash and then solo mining on the pool solo.ckpool.org and since 2015, we have managed to find 9 blocks, so it's better to do it together. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5364375.0
416  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LOPTOP MIMING on: January 28, 2023, 04:07:51 AM
IS IT POSSIBLE TO MINE BITCOIN IN LOPTOP PLZ TELL ME THE PROCESS?PLEASE TELL ME THE PROCESS.

It's too late for you to ask such a question, besides, the mining function was in early versions of the Bitcoin Core wallet, now it's not there because it doesn't make sense. These times have passed.
417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have 1 bitcoin? on: January 27, 2023, 11:20:38 AM
Currently I think there are many people who are holding on to more than 1 bitcoin. They hold Bitcoin for their future. At least in this market no one is willing to sell Bitcoin as investors know that Bitcoin will continue to grow higher in the near future. But I don't have that much money to invest right now but with the amount of money I have I have collected some amount of bitcoins from the current market. My future plan is to hold Bitcoin for the long term.

People keep bitcoin for various reasons, but still the majority for profit, but there are also those who are forced by life circumstances to sell despite the state of the market, of course if you sold in bullish 2021, then in a year you would have four times more bitcoins, but this is not the lot of many.
418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FTX drama stressing people for no reason | How to stay neutral on: January 27, 2023, 11:08:38 AM
FTX drama seems to melt down from people's minds now and we are seeing good recovery signs in the market [ in the long term ].

What negative do you think is coming about bitcoin next?

Bitcoin itself is unlikely to be threatened by anything and its prospects are bright, but the community has always reacted and will always do so, statements and pressure from regulators and their actions will have an impact, well, the excessive dominance of CEX will also have an impact.
419  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is it wrong to try your luck with Solo on: January 27, 2023, 10:54:47 AM
Is 110TH enough to gamble with Bitcoin solo mining? If you can solve a Bitcoin block in 4-7 years do you think it's worth the hassle? What can 110TB do to make this possible? I have free electricity I just want to embark on this try-your-luck journey, do you think it's worth it? I am not in haste and I am ready to just plug the ASIC miner and move on, I have other business that fetches me good money so..

Well, in fact, taking into account the growth of the hashrate of the bitcoin network, which has already reached 314.6 EH/s, your Asic has 1/2860000 of the total hashrate of the bitcoin network, therefore your miner has a chance the miner has a 0.000035% chance of finding a block that he will statistically catch one block out of every 2860000 blocks or 19,861 days, which is 54.4 years, this is without taking into account your luck, of course.
420  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Amazing Gambling-DeFi System on: January 27, 2023, 10:24:50 AM
A strange gaming platform claiming in paragraph #23 of its TaC that they are regulated in accordance with the laws of Curacao, but there is no Curacao license, it seems to me that this is just a set of non-binding terms.

23. Governing law: These terms and conditions will be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Curaçao.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they may have borrowed their terms and conditions from another website without fully adapting them to their own. This could indicate that the site was put together hastily and and without proper attention to detail, and could also be an indication that the site may not have the best intentions. Of course, this is just my gut feeling and could be proven wrong.

You are right on this they did not omit this, they do not a have license and they are a DeFi project, so it's unlikely that Curacao terms are applicable to their platform, it's good that the owner create a video so first time visitor will easily understand how these things works since this is a Binance chain platform it should be in the altcoin service section, but we never game like this that formatted in a Bitcoin will be accepted will come out in the future, casino players are more likely to support casino platform that accepts Bitcoin.

I don't think that using Defi in an online casino can be a problem for obtaining a license in Curacao, it all depends on the developer team and their availability of funds, because the license implies a profit tax of 2% plus you need to pay for filing an application, an annual fee for the license itself and pay monthly for the domain, maybe something has changed in licensing conditions
