That was a hard fought win for Man United, I was worried for a minute with how Burnley started the game, It sure was looking like another day for frustrated efforts from Man United, but just one moment of an absolute brilliant pick out pass from Evans and even more an exquisite from Bruno Fernandes was enough to secure the 3 points for them.

Now I just need Chelsea and Arsenal to follow through as well, that'd be a 4th place finish for me and quite a fight to get back here to be honest, because I couldn't afford another loss, and need 3 straight rounds (excluding this one), while Casper the friend ghost (BGD) also just wouldn't slow down.

Btw, how are we doing regarding @Igebotz relegation battle, I'm rather too busy focusing securing the 4th place to play in the CL next season, so I'm unable to take even just a quick glance at the bottom dwellers  Tongue

I haven't yet downgraded my backline, but it's the best spot for anyone trying to improve any part of the offensive line. I have no hope of Onana and Areola keeping a clean sheet, but GK is the least important position to focus on right now. It's even better to have a backup GK at £3.0m and upgrade the offence with the move.

Areola is one of the best FPL goalkeepers because he makes up for his lack of clean sheets with lots of saves. He even saved a penalty once.

Only Leno is better IMO

And you get that for just 4m, I think I'd rate Areola over Leno, that's a personal choice though...

Quite a silent day and trouble in paradise for the expectation that was required of Brentford, you'd expect an easy day in the office for Mbuemo and Yoane Wissa, or at least them keeping it tidy defensively, but rather it was a cold day in hell for them.

Looking for a draw in the h2h question for the Giurassy - Kane duel. Worst possible thing now would be if Tuchel decides to give Kane a break, which is not unlikely right now. But Bayern is playing some good stuff there.

I am starting to like the DOTA questions more and more as I have done some research here and there and by now am quite familiar with some of the team stats. Got the Gaimin Gladiators really wrong here, but Team Spirit is on a good way.

Harry Kane have scored two goals already now, and luckily he's still on the pitch and there is still about 20 minutes to play for here, so he could still grab another, not that it matters to me anyways.

Team Spirit already secured first the map, so one more is all I need for now!

EDIT:

How about that from Harry Kane huh ? 3 goals and 2 assists!

Foden, Alvarez and Halaand Starts!! Time for trofo to feast. Who else has the 3 attackers.

Aye!

I've got 3 of them too, I ditched Saka, Foden looked like must have asset for the time being for me, and Saka points have not been huge haul too, but I'm sure I might not be long on him or Rashford for maybe Maddison or back to Saka, depending on how the trend goes.

You are right. However I think that Rodri is thinking about scoring goals much more this season. And I don't think it would be a surprise in case he reaches 7-8 goals.

Are you willing to take the risk of owning a player whose price is likely to fall and who may only score 3-4 goals this season? It isn't worth it.

I'm a little comfortable about this topic because of buying Bryan Mbeumo for only 6.5 million at the beginning of the season. However this isn't enough only by itself. I might need to give up on Ederson and Trippier as well.

If you wish to have Salah and Halaand at this rate, you must use your wildcard or risk burning -12 hits. Having both Salah and Halaand means you'll have to downgrade your defence or midfield to make room for both.

Edit

Took -12 hits to have a dream team! What's stopping this team from 80 points this weekend?

Looking at the season so far defenses have not been the best point earning mechanism so far, because even the teams haven't been consistently keeping clean sheets. So downgrading your defense for a better attacking prospect in the midfield or forward line isn't necessarily a bad move to be honest.

I've decided to call in my wildcard for some really strange moves and reasons, but then it's a risk reward and/or logic or aggressive or conservation whichever one it is, I believe each of this criteria is needed at some point in the season to get the maximum benefit at the end of the day.

Regarding Rodri, I’m sure you Guardiola well enough, Rodri isn’t what Rodri usually was in previous years, he’s being deployed in more forward center role now, he had 2 goals and 6 assist in the PL last season meanwhile, he’s already scored 3 goals and 2 assists in just 8 games in all tournament this season, the only counter argument imo is wouldn’t you rather another City player instead due to max 3 players per team, if it were more then Rodri would likely be on my team, he more like the new Gundogan for City, so imo it’s not about where we think he plays, that’s the same reason why almost no one have Walker on the team despite being wing back, because he’s less concerned with the attack according to Guardiola’s tactics.

Best part of that game was Dick Advocat half time talk for local sports channel when he said: I don't know why they even alow teams as bad as this to play in Europe  Grin
Something stinks bad about this game and I would not be surprised to hear some betting scandal later.
I am sure AZ Alkmar is going to win at home, but Zrinjski is not even that good in their domestic league.
Maybe I am totally wrong and there are no fixed matches at all  Grin

I really wouldn't call it a fixed match over that score and comeback, I mean we've seen worse situation playout before too, and look at how Brighton lost yesterday too after leveling twice in the game playing in front of their home crowd.

Would we say Barcelona losing to Liverpool and Roma back then in the champions league after a great first leg win, or Barcelona over PSG, I understand those are two legged fixtures, but we have the case of AC Milan vs Liverpool too from 2005, more so from a final.

I think the odd thing about this game was that Zrinjski Mostar wasn't having chances nonstop and therefore it was only a question of time until they score their first goal or maybe even their second goal. This was coming back from 0-3 with 28% ball possession, 66% passing accuracy and 5 shots on target. When you read those numbers it is really not easy to believe that they scored 4 goals! Add to that that they had a single corner in the whole game, which also kind of eliminates the lucky header theory after corners or something. I think these stats combined with the final result are extremely rare.

Yeah so does Brighton against AEK Athens, AEK had just 30% possesion and 5 shots on target, compared to Brighton being all over them, but still both of Brighton goals had to come from the 12 yards spot while AEK Athens were just the very clinical side and convert majority of the chances, so other than Brighton never being in the lead like AZ Alkmaar was, I still don't considered Brighton losing at home is such fashion to AEK Athens less of an upset than AZ Alkmaar's loss.

--------------------

BetBoom still keeping it tidy the for me in the lower brackets is something I relish so far, at at least until Team Spirit gets to the Grand finals, I'll need BB to stay in the competition for as long as possible.

Alvarez is trying to seal his place on the team and be very relevant and you can agree that his being doing just that perfectly. Either creating assists or scoring goals and you can agree that, his by far going to be futures more this season with the network his constantly building with E. Haaland on the pitch. We see that and Peps is leveraging it as only him could, a perfect game so far for his team.

I don't think Alvarez is still trying to secure his place in the Manchester City's squad he's already got his place already, and with Bernardo Silva out injured, Alvarez is probably Man City best chance creator, perhaps along side Rodri, and De Bruyne is out for the rest of the year, so aside Haaland, Rodri and Ederson, there is no one else with a guaranteed spot that Alvarez. It's just all about what Guardiola does so very often, which rotate his squad but he doesn't quite have that luxury for now btw.

The analysis that cryptofrka did forced me to check how the standings of the teams that are under me in the table and it's not looking good for me. I didn't check future events but currently three of them (vd309, mitchr4 and Slissy) are leading against their opponents and jayce is holding a draw against his opponent. I hope at least one of them will lose so I don't fall too much in this final round after being in the top half of the table almost entire season.

I’m the one playing against vd309, he’s currently a point ahead truly, but I have a very good edge in the Dota 2 question, while we’d have just one question left with different answers, I think we are going to likely end this in a draw, except of one this combination happens; Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, Only one of them losses while the other wins, one wins while the other two play draw or two wins, while the third team losses. Asides that, it’s very much likely to be a draw, meanwhile If Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool all win their fixtures, then I’m very probable to come out on top.

EDIT:

Gamin Gladiators have also being eliminated, that’s vd309’s second pick for Dota 2 along with Team Liquid, while I have Team Spirit and BetBoom who both are still in the competition with Team Spirit in the Bracket finals already, I’d win that question should either BetBoom or Team Spirt make the grand finals, I’d put chances of that happening to about around 75-80% at my most pessimistic guess. So, it will go down to the final question of the 3 EPL Teams.

~snip
What a comeback from Zrinjski after being down 0-3 at half-time against AZ Alkmaar and wins the match 4-3!
I had "No" on this question so that secured me another point! 😁

congrats on this point
luck has turned back on me in this round, first Bayern in 90+2, now Zrinjski with 4 pieces from 4 shots being up from 0:3 (didn't watch the game, but pretty much impossible to see they had 35% possession and scored 4 goals, what was AZ doing, they could just had the ball rolling)

congrats on being up two points, if this finish as my loss, and Harkorede does not lose, slackovic does not win, with current points, we could have similar table as in first season:
1 buwaytress instead of Slissy at top
2 jeremypwr (as in season 1)
3 CLS63 (as in season 1)
4 Harkorede (as in season 1)
5 casperBGD (as in season 1)

It is always a big honour for me to finish in top 3 among big sports fanatics like you. However I need to indicate that I'm quite unlucky this season as well. If Az Alkmaar were able to win the match in which they got 3-0 ahead I would have already started to sing championship songs.

It really is very weird looking at the table and the probability of it ending like season 1 to some extent, Ajax really messed me up with that their draw, I thought they've got the game already with a two goals lead, but blew that even before the half ended, and still got another lead during the second half and threw that off the window too, and with that vd309 has one point lead over me, I stand a better chance with the Dota 2 question, while we have just one different answer of all the remaining questions.

Yeah kinda expected PSV to score as well but I guess Arsenal was pretty good yesterday

I didn't see PSV scoring yesterday at all, since Arteta have came down back to his senses, it's been a solid chemistry defensively with Saliba and Gabriel pairing like most of last season, unlike having Ben White as CB and Thomas Partey as Right back.

PSV did have their own chances to so considering a goal might not have been because of any defensive frailties.

-------------------------------------

As usual, I started off the season in the middle of the pack for the first round, I didn't this much amount of draws, so It was mostly a win or loss pick for me, but it's still a bit of play here.

Ohw i don't see the rules clearly and i don't know that there is 10 points max for each rounds?

That’s quite evident that you probably didn’t read the rules or didn’t understand it properly, there might be other people with one mistake or the other too, I didn’t check for every participant, I just happened to have been on the right row and/or column at the time to have noticed both issues that I made mention of.

Hey guys, am I the only who noticed some discrepancies in POT B spreadsheet, I mean some players used more than 10 points, e.g: @Entebah, spent around 50 points or thereabout, I wasn’t calculating properly and @Omikifuse for instance made a mistake by not allocating their points appropriately, he had 8 points on 1 game and for the 2nd game they didn’t put in any stake points, but since the max is 10 we can easily presume that’s 2 stake points for that, however according to the rules that states that users can decide not use all their points even though unused points can’t be brought forward, it could also be counter argued that he didn’t stake on that game right, since this is just like a sportsbook you selecting the right team and not placing the bet with a particular amount wouldn’t get you paid.

We can choose to be very lenient since this is the first round, I didn’t check mine to see if I didn’t make mistake too, but I remember before submitting I had to triple check manually so as not to exceed the 10 points max, incase there is no auto point limitation, especially due to the fact that I had pick a lot of teams to stake on.

The purpose of this post is ask if there be a way to ensure users can’t submit if their total points used is more the allowed, and a warning post informing them of the total used point if they didn’t use up to 10 points, that unused point are not being carried forward, so as to prevent these errors going forward, because we are very all aware of our delicate this pool can be being an odds based / risk-reward pool.

what is happening in Lisbon, two penalties for Salzburg, and red-card for Benfica, and we are in 20 minutes since start
can't say that it is happening to often

Real was lucky, they were better side, but Union was holding to almost last minutes
Bayern still in 0:0, Inter already down in San Sebastian

I thought why is Benfica having difficulties to handle this game, they are with one man down.Still they are playing much better than Salzburg although I doubt they will be able to turn things around, sure they have the power to do so and Salzburg is trying to defend more than to attack, they need to score as soon as possible otherwise things will get complicated and they risk their first Champions League lost game after 8 games of never failing to win at their home turf during such stage.

Real I thought got me down all the tickets, yet now I have 2 with Benfica and one with Inter draw, both are screwing me anyway,I knew after one day of good results like yesterday surprises should be the norm during the night now.

All I have left for today is 1 point on Salzburg @ 7.8 and 4 points on Napoli @ 1.9...

I really feel unsettled with Napoli having just a one goal lead over Braga at Portugal, although I'd prefer Napoli being up that lone goal right now, than still have the game at stalemate, Salzburg on the other hand look pretty much like wrapped game with 2 goals lead and a man advantage, although I'd agree that Benfica were the better side even while being a goal and man down.

1. is maybe a 60-40 bet, but I wouldn't even take equal odds here - I don't bet on friendlies.
2. hahah, nice try. If Kane plays, he'll probably score 1 or 2. I'll take the bet if it's irrelevant how many minutes he'll play Grin

Haha,

I was just going with fact these questions were a game of probability and yeah, Trofo was actually spot on about it being friendlies, however a player like Ben Shelton could really use that on his resume.

2. Exactly my point too, I leaning towards that he would play because Bayern Munich doesn't look like a team that have found their rhythm yet, and still putting their pieces together, while Tuchel isn't Guardiola, and would like to convince the Bayern Munich's fans and board at large of what his team is all about and made of. I just needed an insurance policy knowing that Harry Kane could get injured or pick up a knock today, lol.

You know, it seems logical to see the full-strength lineup last night but I made my picks strictly based on how I felt Pep's always approached games. He likes to tinker, he likes to rest players, and he likes to rotate. How many times in seasons past have we felt how frustrating he's been not using players playing well and seemingly having favourites?

So I'm down a point, and because I thought I knew Pep too well.

That Bald tinker is something else entirely, my decision on both to start was simply because they're short on firepower De Bruyne, Grealish, Kovacic and Stones, just like some have already pointed out too.

Looking at Gvardiol on my FPL every week and knowing I'm getting any worthy returns from him is a huge pain, and I'd have tripled on Man City if not for that, but having to get Gvardiol out for a -4 point and another minus -4 point to bring in a City player in another position is not seeming a like risk worthy decision rn knowing I could bringing Alvarez now and then Guardiola does his thing again, besides we are probably 3 or thereabout game weeks before another international break, so I'm just looking to navigate through with the least negative impact possible.

I'm proud of 2 questions in this round - the Kane vs Guirassy one (Kane is playing today, Bayern's got an early kickoff game on Saturday so I don't expect him to play at all) and the tennis one - Europe has the better ranked players but team World has got more surface specialists.

1. The team world have only about two players I can consider to be an actual threat, If Rune had not withdrawn, now Tsitsipas too is the latest withdrawal news, I would have taken you on side bet by going for Team Europe. Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul are the only players, I think I can vouch for on team World's lineup, meanwhile team Europe players are just plagued with injuries very recently too, especially ADF and Gael Monfils, but for a 1:2 to Odds, I'll take you on a sidebet for this, my 1 mBTC for your 2 mBTC...

2. Bayern Munich have quite a different rotation policy compared to Tottenham, however, if it's regarding fatigue and players tiredness I don't think such workload is something new to Harry Kane, and He's probably played more minutes than Bayern top two CF choices combined each year since Lewandowski left (that's not a fact I checked though, it's just, my presumption knowing Kane plays 90 minute every time he's available at Tottenham), so I'd still take a 1:1 sidebet on this for 1 mBTC, with only a clause that provided Kane plays at least 45 minutes, otherwise the bet is void  Cheesy

So relieved to see my team get off to a flying start. Like LTU_btc said, I was worried because they performed weak last season against lower quality teams. I still have my feelings about Joao Felix after how he fell out with former boss but maybe Xavi is a different kind of kingmaker.

I really don't have any mixed feelings towards him in as much as keeps putting in the work, I think he's partially egotistical perhaps not in bad, he's just one those young lads who literally know they're good but it does get into their too, I remember Lionel Messi being the first big figure he had to disrespect after a game between Barca and Atletico Madrid when he just arrived.

A player of his style and characteristic shouldn't have been seen anywhere around a team like Atletico Madrid, with his style of play and he's always looked out of place at Atletico Madrid, he would have been more impact with Real Madrid than Atletico, I really was surprised by the move, but I believed at his age and the way the transfer market was then, a much hyped player like him would just move to anywhere in as much as it bring him a high level of recognition.

I see him just like a little version of Mbappe, he's got the skill set, however being able to keep is emotions in check, when things aren't going his way is a necessity I believe that he would really need to work on, he's still got a whole career ahead of him, and Barcelona could be the last chance saloon for him (I mean in terms of big a club in Europe).

fuck man, what can i say, i put the mayority of my points in Atletico Madrid, and it was a good choice until...... PROVEDEL the goalkeeper score in the last second of the game, unbelievable. Also Atletico before the tie miss some goals saved by Provedel.

They were just point-blank awful to say the least, I thought Atletico Madrid would at least make a strong statement in this game, as a retribution for their 3-0 humbling loss over the weekend against when they visited Valencia.

However, to be honest I really do think the point Lazio got off match today was pretty much well deserved, because they really could and should have won the game. Atletico Madrid got totally outclassed by Lazio, and I didn't expect less after Diego Simone decide to setup a 5 man defense (5-3-2), I knew Lazio would eventually find a way to breach that wall the coach decided go with in an opening fixture, since a goal was all the wanted capitalize on from a little over midway into the first half, lol, I just never expected it happening under such a circumstance.

Not picking Haaland as my captain has bitten me in the butt twice this season, I think that could be a big differential if done right and with lots of luck. On the other hand if you do it at the wrong time you will be left behind, all the way to the back. Which leaves me quite undecided, do I go with the majority and find other differentials or take some risks here and there and get paid off big?

That was my biggest mistake last season, I could say that literally cost not ending up on one of the winners list because, I was so hell bent on having Mo Salah for majority the beginning of the season, especially when Liverpool were having supposedly easier fixture, but Salah just was inconsistent, even though he provided a lot of points and one of the most in his position, my decision of captaining him, while having TAA cost me the ability to have a more valuable midfield options due budget.

I'm playing the game of non loyalty this time around, I won't wait around too long for a player who wouldn't stay consistent, Haaland have been anywhere near his performance of last season, the but number of goals he could have scored, just shows it takes Haaland just one or two games, and he'd eclipse the entire captaincy points amassed by a captain selection of 2-3 weeks.
