1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Whats the best way to withdraw USD from BTC-E in the UK? on: February 13, 2014, 10:50:48 PM
Thanks for the advice Aquatic! I have just sent off my OkPay verification now so soon I can transfer some money soon and work out how much they might charge to convert USD to GBP. Does the OkPay method work for Depositing GBP to btc-e as well?

I have used Localbitcoins in the past with reasonable success and they seem to offer a good price for BTC, however I had 2 people a few days ago trying to scam by making fraudulent payments and in turn, locked me out of the account for hours! be warned!!!

May I ask why you would avoid places like Technocashier? do they take a hefty commission?

Thanks again!

Thanks, does anyone have any other suggestions? btc-e BTC withdrawl seems to be intermittent on btc-e at the moment. It seems it might not be possible to buy BTC on btc-e and send the coins to another exchange to sell. (this is very worrying)

Has anyone tried any other methods in UK? has anyone in the UK used OKPAY? any advice?

Hi guys,

Long time speculator here, first time posting!

I purchased bitcoin on localbitcoins.com and after seeing a downtrend recently I decided to quickly sell my coins on btc-e and get into fiat. Now I have USD sitting in btc-e that I would like to withdraw to a GBP UK bank account in the cheapest, fastest and most reliable way. Does anyone have experience doing this? MT.GOX withdrawal seems out of the question after recent press.....I would like to know:

Can I withdraw directly from btc-e to UK bank account? if so what are the costs?

Would I be better off buying BTC with USD on btc-e and then sending BTC to localbitcoins.com to sell for GBP there? (this seems risky with current market fluctuation as selling on Localbitcoins.com can take hours!)

Would I be better off buying BTC with USD on btc-e and sending to another exchange...eg Bitstamp? I have just setup and account but my verification is pending (how long does this currently take?)

Buying BTC with USD and sending to another exchange? any suggestions?

Also whats currently the best exchange for buying BTC in UK at the moment (depositing GBP fiat funds)

Many thanks! Much appreciation!
I use ONLY SEPA withdraws. Im in EU and withdraw euro.

Would I need to Buy EUR with my USD on btc-e  ----> then withdraw EUR via SEPA to UK bank ------> pay the commission my bank sets on exchanging EUR to GBP?

Thanks for the help  Smiley
