Many experts have predicted Bitcoin to hit $50k before the end of this year. Even though this will be welcomed development, I am reluctant to imagine the possibility of it being true. My best expectation is $15k this year but in the future am confident it will rise above $100k.

#1 - If it's just a post in the bounty thread, it is of little consequence to the forum. No one cares about those reporting posts as they are confined to the bounty thread. #2 - I'm guessing this has something to do with Bounties again. So in the grand scheme of things doesn't matter to the average forum user. Not going to lie when it comes to bounties, the only thing I care about is that it isn't for some scam ICO. These users are generally just fouling up twitter and Facebook. My only issue is when these users decide to go one further and start wearing a SIG and spewing low quality garbage everywhere. 3. What happens when a user have up to 500 activities but no merit as he is stocked in Jr. Memeber? Do you consider this encouraging? Because I understand irrelevant post are always deleted by the moderators of the various sections and for someone to have up to 500 activities, it means all the posts are not irrelevants.
This user would be a prime example of the system working. Anyone who can get 500 activity without a single merit, deserves to be stuck at Jr. Member level. Not all irrelevant posts are deleted by moderators, most of the time they need to be reported before they get dealt with. Even then there is a line between being deserving of moderation and contributing in some way to the conversation. Not every post that isn't deleted or deemed relevant is deserving of merit, it still has to bring something extra to the conversation in some way. #4 Is simple, merit is not moderated by the forum. Some DT may be tagging merit abusers in an attempt to keep the system functioning as intended. Others are documenting cases in the reputation thread for gross abuse, as for a while it was tied into the account hacks going on. The nice thing about that is that DT can tag people based on their personal preference, such as people begging for merit. The problem with merit abuse is there are guidelines for giving it out but it is up to peoples personal preference; so it's not always a clear case. There are many instances that can make a user have 500 activities without a merit. I highlighted proof of authentication and bounty reporting... users who have huge appetite for airdrops and bounties, especially social media bounties, can have 500 activities without a merit and do not deserve a punishment. Secondly, judging by your response, it is evident that people with many activities without corresponding merits might be punished for that as higher ranked members will naturally assume they will not be able to post meaningful post... and this is another challenge the forum might face IMO. |

These bounty platforms have 0 trasparence, there is no way to know and verify for sure how many people are participating.
I am struggling to understand what you mean by transparency on this as everything on those platforms are automated... for instance, if you like and share a facebook post, it is recorded automatically and you don't have to post report in the forum. So I will appreciate if you can throw more light on what you mean by transparency. |

Hello all, I am relatively new in this systems and have therefore devoted most of my time reading through posts in this forum to be better equipped with the does and don'ts and how to contribute and also benefit from this forum. I thank the moderators for developing the merit system that have curbed spam and other negative tendencies in this forum as evident in the numerous testimonies of improved quality of posts in different sections of this forum. I know this is a work in progress and I believe the leadership of the house know what is best for this forum on the long run. However, I will need more clarifications in certain concerns that I have which include but not limited to the followin questions: 1. Is anything being done to encourage bounty managers to adopt automated bounty reporting techniques as can be seen in https://www.bountysquad.com/ and https://bountyplatform.io/ as a way of reducing unecessary and substandard posts like bounty reporting? 2. Does the proof of authentication pattern introduced to checkmate cheating also constitute substandard posts? 3. What happens when a user have up to 500 activities but no merit as he is stocked in Jr. Memeber? Do you consider this encouraging? Because I understand irrelevant post are always deleted by the moderators of the various sections and for someone to have up to 500 activities, it means all the posts are not irrelevants. 4. Is anything being done to check abuse of this new system because every new system will always have its weakness? I look forward to getting good and unambiguos answers to these questions. |

Should we hold on to altcoins which we have invested and see the price dropping every moment or it will be better to sell them or hold.
Selling below ICO price is a very bad habit. If you have to invest in a project, it has to be a project you believe in and the product should be realistic. In this case, you don't have to worry about price drop as this will always correct. |

I just have a question. i am just new in this venture. I have this new myetherwallet account and put some particular eth coin. i was not able to open the account for 1-2weeks due to some reasons. I opened it yesterday and my eth went down. i understand that the equivalent price for an eth is dynamic, but not the eth itself. does my own eth also move in response to the market movement even if you dont do anything on it yet? thank you for the help.
ETH is going through a difficult time unlike BTC. I don't know what the reason might be. It is very surprising that ETH who has a high use case will be the worst hit in this bear market. Well, am confident, it will recover because the product behind it is good. |

It is becoming really difficult to believe that this is the much awaited bull run. This is not the first time we are experiencing price appreciation. So the market is still filled with so much uncertainties.

There is no best time for altcoins as one can not know this for certain. The market is too volatile and this is making it difficult to predict the market.

The people who I know made huge money in crypto are the people who held for a long time. Short term traders can make a few thousands of dollars but on the long run, people who held for long term will make multiple of that.

It is hard to ascertain that what we are seeing is a systematic growth. The market have been dancing around some limits without a actual growth. However it will be great to see the market on the side of growth.

In the past few months, people have lost their enthusiasm for the decline in bitcoin prices.more and more people have already sold their own currency.the bear market has also arrived.

bitcoin is too popular now a days of crypto currency. and bitcoin popular all around the world. you have got bitcoin you just hold it for few days and wait for growth it. and altcoin not sure when it will be grow up but anytime pump bitcoin. altcoin is too risky. you can hold bitcoin one day it would be grow up.
I agree with you that Bitcoin is already establish and grows with time but don't forget that there are some altcoins that are growing faster than Bitcoin. Example is Tether and Verge. An investment in these coins would have yielded fortune by now. Personally I like diversifying. |

It requires a lot of courage to hold Bitcoin considering the lingered bear market. However, true believers like me will always remain resolute with Bitcoin. I will personally have a large chunk of it come December, 2018.

The SEC’s decision to delay their ruling on a Bitcoin ETF has understandably made news headlines as cryptocurrency traders and investors alike await the verdict in anticipation.
It has been stated that this recent drop in BTC price is attributed to this decision but it is our view that it was going to happen anyway.
Back in July the $8,400 could not hold and since then, we have been in a steady decline. This is what happens in markets of all types.
As stated in my previous post, $7,129 could not hold and we are still expecting price to go lower, possibly hitting the $6,770 level, although BTC is currently flirting with $6,840 and is meeting some resistance there. It was at this price point which triggered the recent BTC bounce.
Frankly speaking, crypto market is largely controlled by fundamental analysis and not technical. One single news can send the price to the peak and vice versa. This is the problem crypto have to contend with. However, I have a strong believe that crypto will triumph at the end. We should expect some bull run soon IMHO. |
