I would not like to let my coins to lie idle. I am a dice enthusiast and like playing dice during my free time. What I do is to transfer my coins from the wallet to a dice site and do a few bets. Once I gain 25% of my initial amount, I stop and withdraw back to my wallet.

I can't recall exactly, but I've lost about 0.7-0.8 BTC from my gambling experience, over a couple months. This is obviously a significant amount of money (enough to buy a modern-day console) but I feel like it was kind of worth it, in terms of entertainment value. I've had fun with bitcoin and gambling, and I think that although I used up a lot of money, that's essentially the same with any other expensive hobby. I just did it in the comfort of my bedroom.
