To all the rude people here: ChartBuddy has feelings too!

+1 Although he's a bot... Bots have feelings too Smiley
42  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What wallets, if any are already out that allow a full untraceable and annon way on: March 14, 2015, 11:55:19 PM
All transactions are recorded on the blockchain, you can't avoid that.

If you want though you can do a transaction face to face with another person with a paper wallet. But if you're looking for a wallet client then there's none.
43  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A PROFITABLE TRADE OR INVESTMENT JOURNEY, BUT HOW? on: March 14, 2015, 11:47:20 PM
As a newbie & due to my lack of knowledge about crypto market I lost my first 10 days collection of bitcoins in mid January/2015. When I saw the advertisement of a site, said that they would make 1 btc from 0.01 btc in 24 hours. I deposited the coins but they all gone.
After this I lost few doges last month to coinsdouble. Again this month lost to BTC-PROFIT. After these I started to read the topics of this forum very carefully. Hope this will help me to recognize the gold.
Now I'm more careful. But still in dilemma of how to get more coins? Really there is no genuine trader to help me to make my journey to this world profitable?

I suggest you try arbing, altcoins aren't very secure just as Hazir suggested.

Also I think the site you deposited in is probably a ponzi scheme, watch out for those stupid types of scams Wink

To win a lot of money, it is good not to loose often.

It might be a good idea to risk your money if you can really afford to lose it. But don't join after a few weeks.

Sometimes he come back and make his work.

What??!!! All candidates are political activists?
Thread in Russian section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990069.0

There is no one good candidate. Trust me: I'm anonymous and don't have any reason to lie.

Well.. A moderator should be active at least once a week otherwise there would be no use for one. That's only my opinion though.

Also, I don't understand Russian.
45  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: March 14, 2015, 11:42:41 PM
So when verifying, do I copy the whole thing into the verifier, or do I copy them one by one?
46  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sites that can generate vanity addresses for free? on: March 14, 2015, 11:41:11 PM
I'm pretty sure that you can use it offline although if someone phishes your computer they probably can gain access to your private key.
The application itself should be good enough although you have to look out for viruses on your computer.

If I leave out one of the "-"s in the message, will that signed message be considered invalid?

e.g.

Russian section is good. Yep, can be better, but good enough now.

We don't need new moderator, existing moderator make work sometimes. It is ok

NOTE THAT: ALL CANDIDATES ARE POLITICAL ACTIVISTS.

DON'T RAISE THIS QUESTION AGAIN!

49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: International bitcoin survey launched - 1btc split 16 ways up for grabs on: March 14, 2015, 11:27:13 PM
Nice survey.

How can we get the prize though?

I want to create this type of dress too, My name has 3 character, it will be so easy I think Smiley

Which program can I use for this?

OSX or Windows 8.

I don't know about OSX since I recently just switched to it and was wondering about this as well.

Vanitygen worked pretty well for me on windows 7. See here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Vanitygen

Cheers for the link but before i click and see, I am cautious i don't want to lose any coins just because of a bit of vanity but i do want one and have done for quite some time i just have not trusted nor got around to getting one but if all is legit i don't see no reason not to..

Hmm... I don't really get what you were saying.

This application should be trusted enough, if I'm not mistaken you can run it offline as well as online, so no one will steal your info(Not the normal hacker, anyways).
51  Economy / Services / Re: Any skilled pixel artists here? on: March 14, 2015, 11:22:20 PM
I need a custom pixel shaded art. I will use escrow but only trusted ones listed here on the forum

I don't know what is pixel shaded art since I'm not an artist Sad

Anyways try this guy, pretty trusted: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=715634.0

54  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I am out of the mining game :( on: March 14, 2015, 11:16:20 PM
The very big chinese Mining Farms - the big Player of this World. Very simple Wink The little private Miner with a lot of Terrahash will never reach the ROI and will stop the miningprocess.

You're suggesting we join a pool? I don't think that's still profitable either.

We should all immigrate to a place that has cheap electricity  Grin
55  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sites that can generate vanity addresses for free? on: March 14, 2015, 11:15:01 PM
I looked into it a bit further and found this on reddit about funds being stolen from vanity addresses generated online. The warning looks like its for a different site, but it sounds a bit risky.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/21foj9/funds_currently_being_stolen_from_vanity/

Ouch, that's harsh.

I have never used the bitcoinvanitygen service and cannot vouch for it, but the website says it's free. If you try it I'm interested in hearing how good it is.

http://bitcoinvanitygen.com/

I'm trying it out. I'm currently on the queue.

Though the limits are pretty low. Only 5 letters vanity and 6 for no case sensitive.

The limits are always low except if you put some money or hardware into it. Be careful who you trust for creating your vanity address.

How can I put hardware into it?  Cheesy
56  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: btcjam.com How do we know the interest we are paid on: March 14, 2015, 11:13:50 PM
I don't recommend you going on btcjam and loaning other people.

Btcjam is probably the worst place you can loan, this forum is much better(The interest is very low and the loan terms are like a year or something, and people create fake profiles). But anyways it's your choice.
Other way around. Default rate is MUCH higher at bitcointalk because it isn't tied to any real information and it is more of an official site. Also most loans here are for gamblers..

Hmm... That's not 100% true. But I have to say that return always come with risks. You might have risks on bitcointalk loaning to people, but your return is much higher.

If you make smart choices on who to loan and who not to loan I don't see why there's a higher default rate here than btcjam.
I agree that the interest rates are higher here, but that's cause they are more unstable and people don't have to tie their personal information to the account. On btcjam also there are ALWAYS loans whereas here I have to wait for people to ask for loans from me in my thread.
Loaning here is much more fun though

Well, if you go on btcjam there's tons of loans that are 1 year, 6 months etc. whilst on the forum it's only a few days, maximum usually is a month.

And, there's plenty of loaners on this forum, although I have to agree with you some newbie scammers provide us quality entertainment Wink

If you take the right safety precautions loaning to people on this forum and promote it elsewhere(social media?) then I'm sure this forum would be a much better place to lend than btcjam.

its pretty resource intensive to generate anything higher than that you could just install vanity gen on your computer which is a simple program to use and that would tell you the same thing 5-6 is the sweet spot.

Yeah. Ok, just got a vanity address from that site, sent to my email and was pretty fast.

Although if you deposit bitcoins in there no one can guarantee the generator site won't steal your coins from you, so that's a concern.

I'm using mac with OSX, is it possible to use vanitygen?
58  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 14, 2015, 11:08:26 PM
...

Bots are just stupid. Who need the price to be displayed here. Welcome in my ignore list.

Yeah. I have to agree with you, Chartbuddy is a bit annoying as well.

Though bitcoin going up is good news Wink Hoping it can hit $300 next week.

Chartbuddy is ignored by so many people here. i have the price displayed all the time on my phone (bitcoin checker) and my computers (bitcoinwisdom), i really don't need to read it here.

Very true. That troll bot is my only ignore.

Sshhhh! He's here!

Anyways I don't really ignore him because I like to see the price updates. Although I can easily go to another website, I spend most of my time posting here so he is at least helpful(well, a bit).

Chart buddy performs a service of time stamping this thread with market prices and movements. When catching up on the thread, seeing the hourly charts helps to give context to the posts.

(Also provides the service of constantly bumping the thread to the top, but that's just a happy coincidence, I'm sure  Wink

Uh, yeah Wink

Maybe in the new forum software we should have a price ticker somewhere on the site?

60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How/where to earn bitcoins? (not faucets) on: March 14, 2015, 11:03:34 PM
try giveaway section

The giveaway section, faucets for altcoins that just launched, or giveaways of services that just launched.

The altcoin subforums used to be full of giveaways, then they stopped it. Is the giveaways section as good as it used to be?

It's usually gambling websites promoting their services now. (It's located in the gambling section anyways, so yeah) That means you'll probably have to wager your BTC after you receive them.

Worth a try though, OP. Although you probably don't get a chance to win the giveaways.
