I see they have taken my original idea for a community based crypto currency, original post I posted in 2014: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=434306.0

....but instead of improving on my initial ideas, they have whored it out. Not cool.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] A Professional Cryptocurrency ✈ Android Wallet, CoinedUp ✔ on: February 10, 2014, 10:06:55 PM
I think real value in DigiByte will appear if instead of seeking out merchants, they create their own resources to use DigiByte in.

Examples of this would be creating an eSports Betting site, where individuals could bet on big eSports competitions in Online Video Games (Dota 2, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Starcraft 2 etc). They would bet with DigiBytes.

Another would be creating their own marketplace. A site similar to Amazon, where merchants could sign up, post their goods and the whole thing would be exchanged in DigiBytes.

Just some ideas, I have plenty more if the devs are interested.
if you know how to use the tools you might use it becouse we trust in Digibyte sooner or later we'll improve this coin even more, i myself made my fate becouse i'm a miner since 2009 when BTC was first released but the idea behind it was uncomensurable to the closed mind! that's what make a good business man... FATE!

I have to disagree, we are not bound by our own fate, you make your own choices in life. In the spiritual sense, if you believe in that, maybe it could all be pre-determined, but we'll never know. We just have the tools we were given in life, our mind and body - the capability to be self conscious and perceive a reality. What makes a good business man is seizing the right opportunities at the right time. Timing and decision making.

Edit: and No I do not possess the ability to program websites as the ones I described, only design them. If someone that knows how to program wants to create these with me for DigiByte then I'm all for it. Until then, I will just leave it as an idea for the Devs to sponge up.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] OneRareCoin - Apology - Official Apology on: February 10, 2014, 02:00:22 AM
I said some things on the OP of OneRareCoin and threads related to OneRareCoin that may have offended people. I'm sorry for my actions and just wanted everyone to see the true innovation behind this coin and how it was groundbreaking I wanted you all to be apart it of but it's my fault and I take the blame.

My official Apology video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rH8q-zLiXSM

You are a disgrace to humans.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] OneRareCoin - will see x100 growth at launch and heres why on: February 10, 2014, 01:43:56 AM
How can you reward the whales who hold large amounts of the coin... if all of the coin is pre-mined and sold... and the miners get the transaction fees? ... Logically that makes no sense... There is no "extra coin" to reward the whales with  Roll Eyes

You just don't understand Proof Of Rarity (POR) protocol it's very complex and not imbecile friendly. Like I said the code and technical details of (POR) will be released soon and what you typed in your response was not 100% true.

Man, sorry but you sound like a dick just wanting to get peoples money. Not supporting this at all.

We could technically get the Digiman 3D printed for giveaways. But, ya I see what some people are saying about the "angry" look. I might soften the eyes up a bit, but putting a smile on him would look kinda stupid in my opinion considering I designed him to have no mouth.

In terms of being a bridge between new users and the crypto world I think doge has nailed that perfectly. It may be better to push for DGB as a more serious currency. just my 2 dgb

Seniors that want to store their money, currently put it into gold or silver. If they enter crypto at some point, it won't be with doge, that's for sure.

We have a DigiByte article in there for you guys!

Feedback is always welcome, we are aware this is far from perfect, but it's a learning process Smiley

Very well composed, thank you!

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would bullion backed crypto work? on: January 30, 2014, 05:59:49 PM
Most likely, but who would be able to afford the amount of gold/silver to create this? It would be a lot of money. Simply stating it is backed would be a detriment to the crypto world, and you would be just as bad as financial institutes who say their ETF is backed by Gold when they have none on hand.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] - What should we name the new DigiByte exchange? on: January 29, 2014, 07:09:58 PM
My vote is for www.Digi-Pay.com. The ".com" does make it more professional.

I voted this as well.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] - ₩orldo -The World Currency. on: January 29, 2014, 02:09:18 AM
Trust me I can tell you this coin has no future, #1 dumb name, Waldo, Worldo?? Dumb. Second there is already Worldcoin, you can't compete with them, third, there is Earthcoin, and they can barely stay afloat. Just close up shop on this coin, no one will mine it and it is taking up space.

Our real thinking was that we would not call it ****coin. 99% of the cryptocurrencies follow this trend and really, no one outside of this forum know they exist apart from bitcoin. Go tell Jackson Palmer to close up Dogecoin because it has a dumb name :p

Peso -> Euro -> Worldo

Tell me your great six letter memorable name that makes sense, can be easily remembered, can't be misspelled, doesn't appear in a google search and has a .com/.org domain available AND DOESN'T END IN COIN.....

Let me guess, you're a Worldcoin miner :p

Pm'd

If you could ensure every wallet belongs to only one person by requiring something like a credit card verification or identity number during creation, could you then limit the amount of coin that any one wallet could mine(they may own more by buying or selling something for coin), thereby giving the whole community an equal chance?

Or you could give the coin away to everyone part of the community xxxcoin per wallet, and make it an requirement to keep your cpu/card available for mining a certain number of hours per month to stay part of the coin community? So the solving of the blocks are done not for reward, but as a responsibility/requirement to be part of the coin community. Once again you would need to make sure that only one wallet per person is possible, so that becomes the difficult problem if government is not involved.

Maybe a solution would be to require a fingerprint/voiceprint/retinascan per wallet? Software would then be required to tell fake fingerprints/voiceprints/scans from real ones???

Someone cleverer than me would have to do that bit... Undecided

I understand your train of thought, but it really depends what we are going for. In my original plan, I did not formulate an idea of changing the structure of society as a whole. Limiting the amount of coins per wallet somewhat goes against the idea of capitalism, as it limits potential. However, the concept of this could be beneficial as well, as coins would be more evenly distributed amongst everyone on Earth. It's a real catch 22.

The only solution I can think of to this would be to put a high limit of lets say 30-50 million. No one should need more than this amount ever in life. Anything mined or earned after the 30-50 million limit would go straight into a charity or fundraiser.

Your idea of limiting wallet addresses based on a security feature such as fingerprints/voice/retina scan might be of an issue to the current block chain infrastructure. Also some businesses, stores, couples, charities or financial institutes might want joint accounts.

What are yours and everyone's thoughts on this?

Let me share some of my thoughts with you, i am closely watching digibyte and usde, two new promising coins from last days.
In 25.1. DGB difficulty was 23, USDe was 19, DGB price was 270 satoshi, USDe 500.
Then some bad things happened, coinmarket.io (only solid exchange backing up both coins) went down and both coins suffered from this. When coinmarket.io came back up two days later DGB price dropped to 220 and USDe to 330. DGB diff dropped to 17 and USDe to 13.
On top of that DGB web sites and also luckyminers pool got attacked and went offline. Those were some serious hits for DGB ecosystem.
Despite all this facts DGB price dropped only 19%, whereas USDe price dropped 34%.
Those are simple facts, which give me the impression, that dgb community is much more mature and stable than USDe (not selling at first sight of trouble) and i want to thank you all for this.
Long Live The DigiByte !

Great observations grynca!

I am not a developer, but very savvy in the business and marketing end of things. I'd be happy to donate funds and time to getting this off the ground.

Thank you chrisnippz, that's great! Very kind of you to offer up your services, and I will notify you when we are at that stage in production. Currently, I am looking for programmers to get this off the ground. Hopefully some will come forward soon.

Will a seed node have a set amount? (Will a seed always have, for example, 100 closest people even if the closest person to you is 100 miles away?)

I'm just curious on how that portion of it will work, because if it's just anyone within a certain distance, I can see it going great for people who live near LA, Chicago, NY, Seattle, etc. but not so great for people who live in small towns.

In terms of hashrate, a seed node will have a set limit to prevent 51% attacks. IF ever a seed node reaches 48% of network hash it will split to create a new one. The network will be built to handle this. In terms of bandwidth, it will also adjust. This will be done by a calculation between the ping and the saturation of the seed nodes. The network will never allow large groupings of bandwidth or hashrate, as it will monitor saturation levels of the seed nodes. Upon connecting, it will take this into consideration along with the ping. There will always be a fair distribution of bandwidth and hashrate, no matter where you live in the world.
