241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 5700 xt or radeon vii to mine with? on: November 30, 2019, 10:56:03 PM
I have both and wouldn't buy either.  The Radeon VII are good card when they don't burn up.  I had 8 Radon VIIs and I had to RMA 5, when I put the 5 back to mining one burned up so I sold the rest.  Its a common problem lots of failures.  The RX 5700 are great for eth only, they have very fewer miners work with them and they are only efficient at mining eth.

Hashrate: 22G
Power:1020W

Nervos CKB has been launched on mainnet on November 16, and several exchanges already support CKB transactions.

From the current mining difficulty and market enthusiasm, CKB's mining daily earnings can reach $15-$20.

The CKB bitstream will be released soon.

scam lol
Well Hashaltcoin is definitely not a scam, I have an F1+ myself. I think they're the best known fpga miner there is right now. Not sure why you're saying scam except for the roi speculation which of course will drop like a sack of bricks.

They are shady as hell.  When they release a new algo their hosted F1s and F1+s are taken offline.  All the f1+s are down until the 25th.  So the earnings look great while they pump the latest algo.  Look at the difficulty for DGB odo, it fell off a cliff when they shut down the miners a few days ago.  Its a shame because they are decent miners and the charge for hosting is a good deal.  I would buy 10 hosted miners if they were more honest.

If your going to buy one wait until the 25th - 26th so you can see the real earnings.

On the 25th earnings will dive.  By pure coincidence they turned off the hostel f1+s until the 25th, lol.  In 4 days earnings will get crushed.  This happens every time a new algo is released, hosted miners all of sudden go down.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Blackminer Supports Nervos CKB Mining on: November 19, 2019, 06:17:08 PM
I have hosted miners with them and whenever a new profitable bit-stream is released the hosted miners go offline.  Hosted miners are down until the 25th, lol.  Profits look great on the calculator because they took down most of the hash.

Anyone using ryzen 9 3900x to mine?

i built three rigs.

gear seems pretty good.

yes, two rigs getting around 10kh on Loki.  Not really profitable on loki, about 35 cents a day.  I haven't done any memory tweaks yet.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Ryzen hashrate? on: November 12, 2019, 01:00:08 AM
i got 3 3900x rigs and 1 3700x

i got some of the noctua coolers the huge sink dual fans at 1.3v or higer they cannot handle the heat to get above 13000h/s so i think you are right u need water cooling. anyone know of a good water cooler for my next build?

Evga two fan.    120mm 65c

Corsair two fan 140mm 58c

Look for sales .

The Corsair is impressive.

I use ram clocked to 2666 it does 3000 stock

Both builds use 32gb ram.

More RAM better performance?  I'm running two 9 3900xs with 8GB getting around 10,000 kH.

No you just need dual channel. Its all about timinings...hitting 13.5k with customs timings on shitty ram, and over 14k with decent ram, with total system power around 130 watts at the wall and 65c CPU temps.

How do you do that, how do you know what timings to use?  I should say I'm hitting 10k on Random XL loki.

Any idea on profits?  I set up one randomX rig and its mining loki, making .47 cents a day, I hope xmr is more.
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is FPGA mining still worth it these days? on: October 30, 2019, 03:10:52 AM
With the advent of ASICs, CPU and FPGA mining has been a thing of the past. Most crypto enthusiasts mine altcoins with their GPUs, while others mine Bitcoin with ASICs. Every year, we see new ASIC hardware with more powerful hashrate and lower energy consumption. On the other hand, GPUs are becoming better over time, making them relevant in the crypto mining industry.

As for FPGAs, I haven't heard much about them (in the Blockchain industry) ever since ASICs took over crypto land. I've seen new FPGAs on sale across the web, but I'm not sure if it's still worth mining crypto with an FPGA these days. Because if you could still make money mining with an FPGA, then I believe that it's a great alternative to existing ASICs and GPUs.

Any thoughts? Smiley

I have a couple F1+s and they are not worth the money.  At this rate its going to take years to ROI.  Only way the F1s will pan out is a huge bull run or more algos developed.  For me from now on its GPUs, ASICs and CPUs.

251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MONERO adopts a new POW Algorithm to fight ASIC on: October 17, 2019, 06:16:58 PM
keep your all eth coin trolls, the moment asics are banned from mining eth then eth price will be back to $ 1400 or higher maybe around $3000.

When will eth switch algos?
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Small Miners, how much do you make ? on: October 07, 2019, 11:53:48 PM
Right now small miners are kinda out of option if they use video rigs , even if they have powerful ones as the mining difficulty grows and the electricity bills remain the same so they need to make further upgrades or move to asics or dedicated hashing clouds which in my opinion are not profitable.
If you have more than 150+ gpus with nice hashing power then you can talk about some nice incomes monthly but the costs to buy a gpu for mining is kinda big and if you buy them from amazon they probable have been used on the same thing as buying new gpus can lead to expensive costs and the return of the investment takes a little longer now due to markets being down.

90% of my GPUs are 2.5 years old.  Buying new ones now is a big gamble.  It would take me 500 days to break even on a Rx 5700.  I don’t see anything good right now to invest in for mining, I’m buying coin until something decent comes along.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Small Miners, how much do you make ? on: October 06, 2019, 09:28:49 PM
I have around 100 gpus and 1 ASIC, earn around 750 a month after electricity and I have .04 kwh power.  I'm using 1070s, 1060s and AMD RX cards and being mining over 2 years with the cards, all paid off long ago.  Everything blows right now but I hedge my mining by selling btc short when things are bad.  I'll keep going until I'm not profitable.   Right now mining eth and Z-Coin,

I bought 3 open box xts, hoping that when miners are developed other algos might be faster on an xt.  A gamble buy we will see.

RX 5700 support also!

At this point why would anybody buy a rx 5700XT over a regular 5700 if they almost produce the same hashrate?

Only reason would be if the RX can mine other coins, might be a better at other algos.  The XT can get 77 on vert coin.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH network hashrate going to the moon!!!! on: September 19, 2019, 03:04:53 PM
Innosilicon just released a 500 mhs miner at 750 watts, no sure who is buying a it with progpow algo change.

Yes its pretty crazy how unfair the mining game is towards the ASICs. Basically most of my old RX series rigs were all RX 470 GPUs. And each rig used about 750 Watts, give or take. However each GPU peaked at 30MH/s, usually a little less. So my total hashrate was 180MH/s or so.

So if you compare it to the ASIC, its basically almost 3 times more efficient per watt than a GPU. Now this is why something like ProgPOW is important. Because if it had the same efficientcy then it would be fair and I wouldn't complain. However just like with BTC, the efficiencies will always increase and before we know it there will be ASICs which are 10 times more efficient, then 100 times, then 1000 times and eventually GPU miners will be completely out. This is pretty much to what happened with Bitcoin in 2012.

The RX 5700 can get 60mh at 100 watts, that is close to the new asic in efficiency and cost.

Did anyone;s Radeon VII die already? I have a Powercolor with Hynix HBM2 which just died (drivers always crashes in Windows, and would not run any OpenCL job in Linux).

Yes 6 out of 9.
Mine also died yesterday. It is from XFX. Anyone has experience doing waranty with them?
Did you try the store from where you bought it?

RMA, past the return period.
Did manufacturer send you a new GPU or send you 5700?

new GPU
