1  Economy / Services / Re: Free BTC for testing out new trading bot on: February 02, 2014, 02:10:15 AM
hi - bitcointalk won't let me send any more personal messages (sent 5 in one hour, that's the limit for new people apparently). Hope you get this. Nothing has shown up in the wallet yet, but I would like to wait and see if it still does. I'll send a message in an hour or two then we can complete this. No worries if you have to go out. Thanks!

Just saw this, sounds good.  PM me I get the messages on my phone.

The funds are turned into the troop when delivered.  However, to be honest, I will not accept orders without payment for the cookies (the shipping can be paid when shipped), because should someone place an order, then disappear, we would hold the bag for the orders not paid for.

I am not trying to make a profit or anything, simply helping her increase her sales.  Totally understandable if no one wants to buy, was just a thought while working to list.

Actually, some places do not require preordering, but they are the minority I believe.

From the Girl Scout Website:

I've moved, and now I have to pre-order my cookies. Why is selling and buying cookies different from one community to the next?

Each Girl Scout council determines its precise method of helping local Girl Scouts sell cookies to local customers. Cookies can generally be purchased through the following types of sales technique, or hybrid thereof:

Pre-order: Girl Scout councils provide participating girls with an order card to collect orders from their potential customers. Girls turn in their order cards, the council orders the cookies, and then girls go back to the customer to deliver them a few weeks later.

Direct sale: Girl Scout councils avoid the order-card process and provide girls with cookies to sell directly to customers.

Booth sales: Girl Scout councils allow girls to sell cookies at booths set up inside and outside various retail establishments. Booth sales usually occur during the last month or so of cookie season.

Online and mobile sales: In 2014, two Girl Scout councils—in Houston, Texas, and Minneapolis, Minnesota—will offer girls the ability to sell cookies online and from mobile handheld devices. This new sales channel is only available to selected girls and troops within the jurisdiction of the participating councils. Girl Scouts of the USA hopes to expand online and mobile offerings to more Girl Scouts and consumers in future cookie seasons.

Girl Scouts participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program may only sell cookies according to their Girl Scout council's policies and procedures, and within the council's published sales timeframe.

why do we have to preorder? thats like a month away.

That's how all Girl Scout troops do it.  They sell, then submit their order and the company sends the cookies to each troop.  They only send the amount of boxes that are ordered.  Some troops will order extra to sell at stands, etc, during this ordering phase.

In my experience, the cookies usually arrive sooner than expected, but it is not guaranteed until beginning to mid March.

Daughter selling Girl Scout Cookies.  Boxes cost 4.00 each (no markup).  Flat rate shipping is 3.99, regardless of number of boxes ordered.

She has all varieties available, and orders come in to her troop in beginning of March.

If local to Belleville, IL, can pick up in person.

Orders must be turned in Friday afternoon to her troop.  Payment in BTC if interested.
