On a philosophical side note, we are as a micro-nation currently evolving from a democraticly run virtual-kingdom ( me dah King! ) to a democratic republic by virtue of the new technology which Martin is spearheading the development of. I intend to oversee this transition smoothly as powers are devolved away from my grasp and into the machine code. I've enjoyed holding the reigns of power, but I see this as neccesary and positive step forwards in our on going evolution.

If you don't understand how much of an achievement that is, I suggest starting your own crypto and thinking hard about the ramifications of your actions for a year or two!

Ok a couple of things to talk about in the proceeding comments;

1) Someone said it would be hard to compete with big competitors... yeah sure, but embedded in that sentiment is the same old typical bias that pervades the entire crypto-culture... everything has to be the biggest, the best, the most competitive it's incredible how much megalomania dominates the way people think around here. Touriva is not here to try and take over the world, we are not attempting to out do booking.com or Travala.com (although a Touriva location on Mars would be sweet!!!), as I've said at the start and many times since; we at Touriva believe in a future which will have millions of blockchains, small and large enterprise alike will utilise the power of deflationary economics to grow their businesses and we are simply looking to get ahead of the curve by setting up to do business now the way we envision it will be common place to be done in 10 or so years from now. Touriva is a small business in the pre-startup phase being worked on by a bunch of guys who are having a good time doing so. If this doesn't excite you, that's not our problem! If we get to a point where we are booking 100 guests a day in locations run by partners we will be making ourselves a nice little normal guy level of income that will likely mean we don't have to work full time anymore and can work on getting to 1000 guests a day, at which point you will most likely find us on a beach somewhere in the Mediteranian.

2) People's impatience for results will not effect how fast we proceed in building our business plans. Things will be ready when they are ready. If that means you feel we are too much of an adhoc and unprofessional outfit to invest in, then that's fine.... we don't care... Touriva is a self-funded business endeavour and it's a lot of fun to be part of. You should pick some slick well funded project with beautiful graphics and plans of how they are going to dominate the entire industry to do your crypto-gambling on.

Of course you can feel free to come and actually join in and talk to us on our discord, we are usually online everyday and you don't need to own any Touriva coins to receive our hospitality at that level.

Watchdog expired is not a problem, your MN is still running and will recieve rewards as normal.

As for lack of rewards, we occasionally experience chain stalls if someone with a large amount of hashpower disconnects. It's most likely to be the cause of any periods with no rewards. This stalling is always a temporary situation and service resumes as normal as soon as the remaining miners find the next block. We have plans in place and a wallet dev working on converting our chain to Equihash_192 in the hope that it will smooth out the problem because it's not supported by big-rig rental places like nicehash. The problem should also vanish when Touriva has matured further as a project and has a larger number of miners operating. With a bigger mining pool the disconnection of a single large miner will have less of an effect.

Yes the world has gone crazy!!

This is not a show stopper for Touriva, the world will recover from this virus and Travel and Tourism will exist again in the future. We hope to be ready for that when the time comes!

1, I'd say most projects of any type don't take off. Either because they are scams to start with or because they are being created by young entrepeneurs who have no real dedication to the long term task it really is to do something like this.

2. We are developing it slowly yes, we all have full time jobs and busy lives! I've always made it clear to all involved that this is a long term project and we will be slowly and deliberately rolling out functionality and developing the business over the long haul. We have built a tight-knit core team who are all regularly checking in at our discord HQ and discussing the project and ideas to move forwards.

3. Certainly the more the merrier, the value of this enterprise is absolutely connected to the volume of trade we eventually hope to be doing.

The price you see there is for renting the entire building, but he's quite willing to do it on a per room basis for around $100 per night.

Prices for accomations will always be listed in USD, part of the plan is for the majority of tourists to never know or care that the system is using crypto-currency under the hood. They pay in USD and the system handles the rest. This way sales of TOUR coins can be made to people who don't care at all about the spot price, only the service. This means the spot price can end up arbitrarily high depending on the amount of traffic the system is eventually processing. Owners of TOUR can obviously pay direct using their TOURs, but until we reach sufficient volume their choices on the system will have to be limited to location providers who are happy to accept TOUR and don't want to convert to USD through our system ( otherwise we would need a large reserve of USD ). These location providers may convert at their leisure on the exchanges, or they can hod'l or spend them to fund their own adventures.

It's all relative.

I've seen far too many coins come out, issue hundreds of millions of tokens and have those tokens to head straight for 1 satoshi or less because the market is just completely flooded and each individual holder has hundreds of thousands of tokens each on average.

We wanted Touriva to be scarce and difficult to obtain through any means other than sharing accomodation services through the app, and a low coincap makes it easy for myself and other supporters of the project to maintain a value above zero. Actually at time of writing the mast majority of Touriva on the market are above or well above $1, with significantly less than $1000 worth available below that threshold.

Another aspect is that the smaller the coin cap, the more volatile the pricing. This is a key part of the business plan for Touriva because ultimately the plan calls for selling tokens to tourists who will not care one dot about the actual spot price as they are likely by design to be completely unaware that the project uses crypto under the hood. This is achieved through the app and marketing; the plan is to market the vacation options in a similar way to a traditional vacations company. For instance : https://www.holiday-factory.com/ which is based here in the UAE. A typical tourist will find the app from our marketing, look at the prices in dollars ( or AED ) and if they make a booking the system will internally convert their payment to Touriva tokens, depending on the location providers settings;

1) Instant cash-out : any tokens the location provider earns will be sold for $$$ immediately for the best available price.

2) Balanced cash-out : their tokens will placed on sale for an amount which is equal to their listing price and they wait until the system completes their order.

3) Investment mode : their tokens can either be withdrawn for them to hold personally or placed on sale at a price they specify. Again they will need to wait until the price reaches their goal before they get their $$$.


The more tourists we accomodate, the more throughput the system will have in delivering rewards to anyone who is holding coins or collaborating as a miner or location operator. With a very low cap, the price will be able to spike skywards very fast with only a small number of tourists using it. Some people will use such spikes as an opportunity to dump and be gone and that's fine it's inevitable and if this works it will be their loss! Others will be able to use the spikes to expand their location offerings by saving up coins whilst the price is low and then selling when it gets high in order to fund opening new, bigger and better locations.

Again the key to it all is getting actual tourists in beds. It's the beating heart of the plan, and I would consider this a rip-roaring success if it reaches a point where we have say 100 tourists sleeping in various locations on an average night paying say $50 / night each, giving a daily turn over of $5000 annual of $1,825,000

We don't need to be the size of AirBnB for this to work, even matching the output of a small classic tourism agency company will result in a working throughput which will drive profits for all involved. It would be nice to reach the stated endgame of having Touriva branded luxury resorts around the world, but realistically if that happens it won't be for at least 15 to 20 years from now unless this really takes off in a huge way in the coming few years.

Booking platform and the rest of the ecosystem is under development by me. I originally built a bunch of the planned functionality out quickly in PHP, but someone found an exploit in the internal exchange, I believe it was a mysql injection attack. That forced me to step back and rethink my strategy, and since then I've been taking a lot more time to work on a far more robust and secure replacement using NodeJS and QuasarJS (https://quasar.dev) for the frontend. I've been detoured for the last couple of months doing freelance work for another startup called Zovento (https://zovento.com) which is not in the crypto-space and was founded by a colleague of mine at my fulltime job here in Dubai. The Zovento App is built using the same stack that I am going to deploy Touriva using. The difference is a matter of details and UX design.  Zovento was launched just prior to the lockdown and I'm still finishing up some of it's functions, but when I'm done with that I will be turning my attention back to Touriva and swapping out various bits of the stack to create the Touriva App.

That's exactly the whole point of the project; think about how much people spend annually on travelling... it's one of the worlds biggest industries.

Personally I spend several thousand dollars a year travelling. If we can get together a reasonable sized group that uses the system annually for their travel needs, the buying pressure will send the coin sky high. I have a friend I met here in Dubai who has recently bought a holiday resort in southern France called "lac de gurson". He's busy renovating it right now and hopes to have it open for business from around April. We are planning to do the first TOURIVA gathering there in August. I also have a contact who owns a bunch of timeshares in high end resorts who will be willing to rent them out for payment in TOUR when there is enough buying pressure to ensure he can cash out efficiently. I would say that with luck, some investors and a year to work on it we will have a bunch of good options available and a strong price point that we can build on to further the project and the quality and quantity of the accomodation options available through it.

Better hurry, the cheap coins are selling out fast. A few days ago there was 75K TOUR on sale, right now there is 41.7K and I expect shortly it will be down to about 35K.

Also the donators panel have decided to up the collateral to 1000 coins at the next wallet release which we are hoping to have ready in a few weeks.

I was about to get stuck into coding it when it was discovered that the existing internal exchange system had a security hole which was allowing people to manipulate their balances, so I shut it down and now I'm building a new one in NodeJS and VueJS. It's going to be much better and much more secure! I'm done with PHP... never again!!!!

With regard to project failure... not going to happen...

I'm not some script-kiddie from eastern Europe playing crypto-entrepeneur! I'm a 20+ years experienced web developer with a full time well paid job in Dubai working for a company that trades in rough diamonds.

I won't let this project fail, it's my retirement plan.

I haven't actually paid much attention to marketing materials such as a roadmap and whitepaper. The roadmap is tricky because whilst I can sketch out roughly the steps needed to reach the end goals, pressures on my time such as my fulltime job, the family nursery business and my 3 year old daughter mean that I can't predict how much time I will have to dedicate to development week to week so there are two levels of uncertainty ( the other being how long a given section of code requires to build ) and therefore any prediction I make is likely to be so wildly inaccurate that it's next to useless.

I've written about 3 A4 pages worth of whitepaper material so far and there is more to add to it. It's been released in it's current form within the donators only section on the discord for feedback.

My stance is that my time is best used actually building stuff rather than making up stuff about how I'm going to build stuff. TOURIVA is my ambition becoming manifest and it's not like I'm trying to raise millions of dollars and open plush offices or anything like that. If you want to drop a token donation, even just a dollar, into the donations pot you can get access to the donators room where you can talk to the others about the project and where we are going with it. Everyone in there is part of an extended distributed team.
