64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining is dead on: April 07, 2014, 01:17:52 PM
Now it's better to buy coins than hardware mining. So yes the mining is dead (the cause of Bitcointalk.org admins and sh*ty altcoins devs). I don't pay my electricity and my hardware are already refunded then i continue to mine but buying hardware now it's fully useless.

Excellent.  Just got another 7950 for under $200.

good deal

68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best under 200W card? on: April 04, 2014, 09:36:43 AM
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti. It reportedly only uses 34W when overclocked and mining scrypt coins at 300 KHS.

i have 5 of this cards, the beast for it 275 khs. and the temperature is 60-68 C. You will need 4-5 fans.

71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What PSU for (4) Gigabyte R9 280x Rev2 Gpu's? on: April 04, 2014, 09:04:01 AM
Hello Everyone,

This is the rig I am building, I have 3 280x's right now and a 4th on the way. I plan on going to 5 or six possibly with 2 PSU's but that's another topic.

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard
AMD Sempron 145 Processor (SDX145HBGMBOX)
Corsair AX1200i- Platinum Rated PSU
8GB RAM
Running on Ubuntu 13.10 (Linux)
Non-powered risers

Now... I have not undervolted any of the GPU's yet so they are all currently sitting at the stock 1.2V

I was wondering if I would be able to run a 4th card on that same AX1200i without undervolting the cards... and how safe that would be because I know it would have to be close to max load. I have ordered a watt meter so I can see exactly how many watts im pulling at the wall but that is not here yet either. any help would but greatly appreciated and I will also provide discounts or extra time on renting my rig when we its done at https://www.betarigs.com/rig/3841 if you want haha

I will need help in the future on how to undervolt these suckers too so I will be open to any help possible.

Thanks in advance for any and all responses!
-DrCharles

for the best you should have for one card one PSU.(650W)

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: hashra.com asic scrypt.... scam? on: April 04, 2014, 08:59:03 AM
Well I asked Hashra for the proof of the $616 charge from DHL 2 days ago. Guess what they said? Nothing... So aparently if you dare ask for a refund they feel that they can steal $616 from you... That should say it all to any prospective buyer! Beware of hashra! You have been warned...

it is looks like a scammers ?
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HELP! struggling to make 6 gpu R9 290 rig to run on windows 7 on: April 04, 2014, 08:45:58 AM
I am having similar issues but mine is only 2 of my 5 are showing. I have seen on many sites that Windows 7 only supports 4 gpus and you need windows 8 for more.

you should reinstall all drivers. Windows 7 is running 6 cards and better to use linux

80  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Mining Rig on: April 04, 2014, 08:15:22 AM
So, just finished putting together my mining rig, have a few more tweaks. Specifically, dummy plugs and jumping the PCI-E x1 slots on my motherboard.
Build is as follows:

3x Asus R9 280X's - R9280X-DC2T-3GD5
1300 Watt EVGA PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA 1300G2
Gigabyte Motherboard - ga-ep45-UD3L from an old computer
4GB Corsair RAM
1 double wide milkcrate + wood holders
2 PCI 16x to 1x risers - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I4BUUKM/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
1 PCI 16x to 16x riser - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008BZBFTG/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm using SMOS - I removed the auto donation script and will give the guy a few bucks instead.
Still learning a lot, especially how to tune the cards, how to configure BAMT (SMOS) correctly, and getting all 3 cards to function correctly. If I can, I may squeak another R9 280X in there, but that may be overdoing it for the PSU.

Looking for a few people to collaborate with and for suggestions in regards to which coins to mine, pools, etc.

litecoine or dogecoins
