201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Really Meant as a Peer to Peer System on: January 08, 2019, 07:13:31 AM
It takes time to develop the infrastructure for a peer to peer payment system where you can pay for daily goods without fiat. Also, making money attracts more people which is good for bitcoin
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC still have the hope to apply ETF? on: January 07, 2019, 08:06:43 AM
We almost had it, the longest period of stability ever where the price sat at 6500 dollars for many moons. However, this hope was destroyed by greedy BCH creators, thanks Craig Wright and bitmain for ruining everything
203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Search for "Bitcoin Core developers" on Google, the results are funny on: January 07, 2019, 07:58:43 AM
The name was correct but the photo is not Cheesy someone needs to create a wiki photo with an anonymous profile pic and label it Satoshi. And make a not that he is no longer developing the code
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Project Genesis - a project to redecentralise Bitcoin on: January 07, 2019, 07:44:51 AM
This will resolve many issues and prevent further forks and clones claiming to be a better bitcoin. However, the centralised route may cause bitcoin to lose it's fan base so there needs to be another way
205  Economy / Speculation / Re: January...The Next Few Weeks Will Be Crucial on: January 07, 2019, 07:39:52 AM
I wouldn't expect too much in this environment as the sec will never approve it with such volatility. Bakkt is a possibility and the only real hope for a full trend reversal
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible sending BTC without a transaction fee? on: January 07, 2019, 07:36:32 AM
It could be possible one day in the unlikely event that someone is able to invent perpetual energy so we can have thousands of fee free miners using free electricity. Otherwise no
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lamassu in my local bagel shop on: January 04, 2019, 09:48:58 PM
Good to see these guys springing up everywhere, it is the easiest way for newbies to get some coins. Fees are super high but when the price rises it will mitigate the losses. Overall, they are worth the purchase assuming they will hodl
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Revolution or a new start? on: January 04, 2019, 09:40:05 PM
Overstock was one of the first retailers to accept bitcoin so it is fitting that they are the first ones to pay their taxes in it too. After this, others will certainly follow. Especially ones that operate in Ohio
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and other cryptocurencies are not necessary says Chinese people on: January 04, 2019, 04:56:48 PM
Chinese is a difficult language so it was probably lost in translation. Bitcoin is needed to solve the problems of a controlled economy, as most of them use a VPN for internet access they know the problem centralised control can bring
210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How invest to be millionaire with 100K on: January 04, 2019, 04:45:44 PM
If you have patience then the safest option is to put it purely into bitcoin and wait for the rise. A better choice would be to split it with just 50% in bitcoin and the remaining amount in quality altcoins i.e. top twenty only
211  Economy / Economics / Re: Tokenization of real-world assets on: January 04, 2019, 04:41:45 PM
This is going to be a very complicated setup. I wouldn't invest straight away, would need to see if it works and follows the same patterns as the real world stocks
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PONZI SCAMS ARE STARTING TO RISE on: December 31, 2018, 11:07:10 AM
After bitconnect it shows that people will invest in anything where high returns are proven, even if they know it is a ponzi scam. Newbies of course do not realise or know what a ponzi is so we need to keep these threads alive to ensure scammers are not fed with our coins
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs. Gold, Fiat and Altcoins (Updated: Traits of Money) on: December 31, 2018, 11:03:23 AM
Altcoin category should not be as one unit. You can put something like ethereum or ripple in there but alts are so varied that some can easily be put in the HIGH group for everything. Good privacy coins like monero or zcash are arguably better than bitcoin so they shouldn't be lumped together as general alts
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Main thing keeping bitcoin still allive on: December 31, 2018, 11:00:30 AM
There is some truth to this, but it should not be referring to the actual bitcoin itself. The reference should only be directed to bitcoin SV which is just s pumped up poor attempt at overthrowing bitcoin or bitcoincash. Hopefully it will disappear to the shitcoin dump yard
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With a booming on 2017 and difficult time on 2018, will Bitcoin recover on 2019? on: December 31, 2018, 10:57:43 AM
It seems to be quite normal when you think about it logically. 2017 was a booming year, and these periods are often followed by a period of bust. 2018 was that year when pretty much everything was down except for tether. 2019 will probably be something in the middle i.e. slow trend upwards
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you promote Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2018, 09:19:11 PM
People will find their own way into the crypto scene. Imagine promoting it last year and then they complain to you because they lost 90% of their portfolio
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US or China: Who do you think will legalize bitcoin first? on: December 30, 2018, 09:14:43 PM
China is a control freak they won't be too open about crypto, but I'm sure they will regulate it somehow. EOS and NEO will start to pump along with thekey as China starts to take hold of crypto
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin with real gold on: December 30, 2018, 06:23:01 PM
Gold is difficult to transport, you will need large transport trucks and a security escort. Bitcoin is gold in the new digital world, not that doesn't have any use but it will be limited to jewelry and industrial use
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best use for Bitcoin on: December 30, 2018, 06:19:55 PM
Best use case is as a decentralised currency that can bypass the tyrants in certain countries that embezzle and scam their own people. It is a savior in some countries and ensures that the people have a usable currency
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin stolen. Electrum exploit / phishing on: December 29, 2018, 12:09:02 PM
I use electrum but haven't opened it for a while, luckily i did not use it yesterday otherwise i might have been tempted to update it as instructed. Good to know about this particular scam, i'll be wary of it for future attacks
