I wanna stake DCR. I have no coding skills. So how can I stake?
I heard a new wallet is out in normal format. Is it now possible to stake just by depositing to one's address?
I don't think gui supports staking yet, but it's really not that tricky to set up if you can use the command line/terminal at all, especially now that there are example config files. 1) Setup dcrd.conf with your username and password for rpc. 2) Make a script bat/sh file that launches dcrd with the conf file, like: "dcrd /C dcrd.conf" 3) Let dcrd sync. 4) Setup dcrwallet.conf with your username and password for rpc. 5) Make a script bat/sh file that launches dcrwallet with the conf file, like: "dcrwallet /C dcrwallet.conf" 6) Setup dcrctl.conf with your username and password for rpc. 7) Register on stakepool, like stakepool.eu, and follow the instructions to get a new address, and validate it using commands like: dcrctl.exe /C C:\path\to\decred\dcrctl.conf /wallet getnewaddress dcrctl.exe /C C:\path\to\decred\dcrctl.conf /wallet validateaddress Dsf... Import the p2sh script after submitting your validated address thinger on the stakepool 9) Buy some tickets using the command from stakeppool, using dcrctl with a command like: dcrctl.exe /C C:\path\to\decred\dcrctl.conf /wallet purchaseticket "default" 20 1 DcpcZE5RAJiDipEQrx6KbcrwjLJKbovrSyq 10 Dse3AUS4LwuZZ28bRttyenNKPXdF6atK7rw 5 It's certainly not the easiest thing to setup, but it shouldn't take more than an hour, and there were people to help me get setup on #decred on freenode irc if you get stuck. And now I'm staking like a vampire hunter

I had a minor problem when compiling the latest version. I was unable to upgrade from my existing build. When I ran "git pull" then "make" I got: aclocal-1.14: warning: couldn't open directory 'src/m4': No such file or directory cd . && /bin/bash /home/ubuntu/myriadcoin/src/build-aux/missing I'm gonna go with mooncoin, coinye, and the always reliable litedogedarkcoin.
Okay... I never heard about mooncoin or coinye but about litedogedarkcoin. Is this an connection made of Litcoin, Dogecoin and Darkcoin (DASH)? (For me it sounds a little bit like this.) Best regards, Patrick I was just bullshitting you. Moon and coinye were popular like early 2014, and then later that year maybe next there was a whole slew of coins that came out that were like random combinations of the words bit, lite, doge, and dark. Honestly, I wouldn't buy anything that's been mentioned in this thread so far.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem pyramid scheme revealed

There's my post on why it's very difficult for anyone to get a scam label to stick on Steem. The initial distribution doesn't bother me that much because I've always looked at proof of stake as being issuing shares of a private company in the first place and not being in the same category as Bitcoin. It's basically just a company using the blockchain for something and not a Bitcoin competitor. They compete more with Reddit, Twitter, and Paypal. It's only when people like Ethereum start claiming it's a replacement for Bitcoin does it become a problem. They're two completely different things. Steem issued the shares via PoW and mined them themselves as a legal loophole instead of IPO. Normal companies wouldn't give out any shares for free, so it's whatever: https://steemit.com/steem/@r0achtheunsavory/how-people-make-big-bucks-on-steem-and-why-nobody-can-get-a-scam-label-to-stickI mostly agree, except they advertised in their threads, "no instamine, no premine, no ninjamine, totally fair!", when they instamined 80+% of the PoW stage. Now they tout their service as a decentralized mecca of free and fair discourse. Of course it's not decentralized - he who controls all the coins controls the blockchain in (D)PoS, so control of the blockchain is completely centralized. Additionally they have granted/instamined themselves the vast majority of voting power, so they mostly determine who gets the big payouts. It is a corporate token, but they pretend that it is some decentralized fairly mined coin, and ultimately I think that dishonestly is what will prevent the system from really catching on. Scam or no scam, I don't think you can blatantly lie to the people that you are hoping will use your service in this age of everything being recorded for perpetuity in a web archive somewhere.

Unfortunately dev is going in wrong direction wasting time and resources for c-cex. The only correct direction is bittrex for now, unfortunately he is not leading us there.
Decent hashrate is very necessary for network, miners need to dump somewhere, with bittrex nethash will go up. Currently cryptopia listing is killing this coin because people selling for nothing and recovery process from 42 satoshi will be very painful if not impossible.
Coin voting is a scam, always. Seriously, we need to overtake Pope Francis Coin and this is hilarious.
What will it require for the coin to get listed on Bittrex? Probably a listing fee. I don't know if they're upfront about it, but bittrex seems to charge fees for everything else. They want 1.5 BTC to change the ticker for myriadcoin from MYR to XMY, while poloniex and cryptopia do it for free. They also charge money for "featured coin" slots on front page, and list every shady ico that comes along. Anyway, I'm guessing maybe 5-10 BTC to get listed there, but just guessing.

news on the MYR is? I sell a time of development and do not meet the slag currency developers or gone missing They helping develop the next update for digibyte. 8bitcoder is on reddit pretty frequently, think he just posted over the weekend. Cryptapus is usually in ##myriadcoin on freenode irc. Nzsquirrell is a bit more reclusive, but he is on reddit occasionally too, and usually in the slack channel. There's an update that is in the process of activating right now. What do you want? Hard forks every week?
