Confirming LennyCarl and monerostruggles1111, so wallet at 1.5 XMR. Is it really too late for forevernoob? Last 25 squares still up for grabs? I'll buy 12 and LennyCarl 13?
842  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 1st Annual Super Bowlero Pool on: February 03, 2018, 09:48:55 PM
Did we decide on drawings?  one big one, or 1/2 time?

I'm game for two winners... makes it interesting²
Twice the fun works for me two

Wallet holding 0.6 XMR now, 0.4 from me and 0.2 from someone else who hasn't posted on thread. I'll pm you now hueristic.

That would be from me.

Tx ID: d7d8d4e4359a8782ebfd721d00e179a5926f2d1544dd8117c329e6cc1efd6477

Its not looking like the pool is filling up, and I don't have time to monitor it so I'll just send 0.5 XMR for 25 squares.

txid:

Code:

All checks out on my end... so jwinterm you should have 1.1 now

Yes indeedy, and received dirty fiat from hueristic just now too Smiley

Hueristic and I are both paid in, 0.2 XMR each, txid:

phishead I'm counting on you to pick me all 7s, 3s, and maybe some 1s.

Don't count on me, count on the block # whatever is after the 12 PM count down... I guess we can all decide on which one to go off of tomorrow, isn't the blockchain based on UTC timezone? If so, whatever block is after 12 PM EST.  More than likely I'll be busy tomorrow, so if I'm not on here during that time, maybe someone can help run the calculations as described before in this thread (I don't think I updated the OP in that regard yet).

So here's my tx id; I updated the OP with it there for people who don't know how to verify people have paid yet...
Code:
d7d8d4e4359a8782ebfd721d00e179a5926f2d1544dd8117c329e6cc1efd6477

How many blocks shall we count after 12 PM to calculate the results, or is everyone ok with just the first one after?

Edit: I also updated the OP on how to calculate results

I thought you already figured that out. Anyway I don't want to be responsible for actual work, sorry Tongue
846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 03, 2018, 05:06:31 PM
Anyone think the Circle acquisition of Poloniex will have any significant price impact in mid term. I expect they must be planning to become a fiat/altcoin gateway, given that Bittrex is apparently adding USD deposits and Coinbase is supposed to be adding more alts as well. Between the three, if XMR is available for trade/purchase with dollars on all three, I think it could provide a decent infusion of fresh cash.

Hi, where did you hear about circle and polo? I can't find any news or anything anywhere, do you have a link maybe? Thanks

Saw article retweeted by fluffyponzi on tweeter yesterday, but apparently it was fake news:

I'm in. What are you thinking for buy in?

Well, it seems we always over shoot a realistic price *cough* FFL *cough cough*... I think 2 xmr is a pretty good chunk of USD to win on a pool game like this based on random luck.  So maybe .02 per square?  Hopefully there will be some other people showing up soon who might have some opinions on the matter

.02 per square needs to be placed in the OP. And if JW has no issue taking my Paypal I'll take 10 squares.

I have no issue with putting in 0.2 XMR for let's say 50 PayPal bux from Hueristic.

cute coin... I would think it would be POS. Can it be mined with GPU? Is it worth it to mine on RX 580s?

Probably not, since it is scrypt, I'd imagine that everyone mining is using ASICs. I mean, you might get a couple coins, but would get far more mining something only GPU can mine and trading.

I'll buy a minimum of 10 and willing to buy the board for whatever doesn't sell. If you guys want I'm fine with being escrow.

Does Myriad support a paper wallet with a password? We are looking to print promotional materials (scratch offs)  giving away coins but want to use a PIN so they can’t be easily stolen en route.

This isn't a feature I've heard of for any coin, but assuming you're distributing to fairly technical audience, then you could send coins to an address, then encrypt the private key using gpg or openssh or something.

0.02 moneronis seems good to me. About $6.30 each square today.

Any interest in having a winner each quarter?

0.02 xrm ok for me. I'm also ok for splitting by quarters or halves or one big pot, whatever people want to do.

856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 19, 2018, 02:15:00 PM

bad,  bad idea. $12 net income may be attractive to the lowest social stratum in crypto community, consisting of the poor and unemployed.  They will dump it at once and forget about Byteball. Decent ppl who may support platform will never tag identity. Very displeased indeed.

I don't even care that much about revealing identity, but I agree with you many will. For me I'm just not jumping through hoops to get $12 of something that is not even very spendable. I'm not saying it's the worst idea, but...
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ⭐ CHIMAERA - True Blockchain Gaming - Private Pre-sale Open on: January 18, 2018, 02:49:41 PM

There are some coins that didn't have a pre-mine and were good, but... they're often either gone or relegated to the crypto-history dustbin of distant memory and obscurity. Development takes time and effort, and everyone has bills to pay.

I'm sorry but this is bullshit, imo. The only coins that really matter have a fair distribution: Bitcoin and Monero in the top 20 and that's about it. If you think those two are in the obscure dustbin, I think you should buy some more Tron and Dentacoin.
858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 16, 2018, 07:12:10 PM
What's the typical size of a transaction (since the fee is equal to the size in bytes, right?)? I'm curious what kind of costs are incurred for typical single output tx.

Also, I assume it's possible to generate extremely large txs by creating many outputs, or many txs with one output. Does this mean that the cost to spam the network with 1 GB of data is currently ~$1k? Would validator nodes simply reject a 1 GB tx? Spammers could be banned by validator?

well they would have to pay 1 GB fee for a 1 GB size tx, so it's unlikely to see that kind of spam. Unlike IOTA and XRB that have literally no defense against spammers. A small fee is better then no fee.

Ye verily, but I'm just curious about typical tx size, as well as validation of extremely large or extremely repetitive small txs.

Consider this, iota was an ico that raised (supposedly) 1337 BTC. If byteball started to get traction, and assuming that iota still had this BTC and claimed it in initial and subsequent airdrops, would these gbytes be more valuable to them to sell on the market (probably enough to crash it several times over) or to attach their competitor with TBs of spam.

I just am wondering how an attack like this would be handled by the network and validators, since, especially at this point the network is quite centralized.

Is this the latest thread here???
I bought this coin just because this is cute  Kiss
But maybe the development is over? i'm sad....

This is the latest thread. Development is not over. People are more active over at /r/nyancoins on Reddit.

Thank you!
The development is still going on, is not it?
Activity on Twitter was also stopped so I became uneasy Cry

I think "development" at the moment consists of updating to relatively modern Bitcoin/Litecoin codebase.
