21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RADS] Radium - Decentralized Identities, Custom Assets, Elections, and More! on: August 03, 2020, 10:04:29 PM
Old client loses inputs regularly. Balance is inflated falsely.
The balance doesn't get inflated though as the orphans don't count in the balance.  An orphan is a found block that gets rejected by the network because someone else found the block a bit faster than you and they get the reward which will be added to their balance not yours.

But it's exactly one of the reasons why we put efforts in developing a better and superior client so people don't get many orphans.  I suggest you upgrade to the new client:

My new Radium wallet works like a champ, I must get 10 to 15% more blocks, great job with the latest update.
Read all about it at  https://radiumcore.org/

Said differently: you don't lose that many as before because orphan rate decreased significantly with the latest update and new client.  So yeah you're right, thanks for the feedback btw!

That's great news, will any we get any pairings to ETH in the near future?  Will you guys put these updates on block folio? Just feel this coin has so much to offer, we just need to get the word out.

There's a RADS/ETH pair on Livecoin and one on Graviex. Unfortunately those markets don't have any liquidity at this point.  One of the bigger exchanges might potentially open an RADS/ETH pair, but the volume and liquidity on Rads should increase first before they'll do that so yeah we need to get the word out about Rads and spread awareness.

If you track RADS on blockfolio then you should see the notifications about the updates normally.

The upgrade is mandatory or only optional? And if it is mandatory, what is the aprox. date of the hard fork (block number)?

Ty
It's optional. It's 100% backwards compatible.  No hard fork.

🎆 The event will start today at 8 PM (ET) and will last for a full week! 🎆

Happy staking everyone!

A whole week of increased staking rewards is a great bonus for us, stakers  Grin

It's gonna be a good week.  Grin

An extra bonus for the staking community is a good initiative, stakers secure the network afterall.

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Radium blockchain, there will be a 'Stake Like a Boss' event.  Stakers will receive +50% rewards for a full week!

Check out this press release on AMBCrypto news site for details:
https://eng.ambcrypto.com/50-rewards-for-staking-radium-rads-for-a-full-week/

Popular event for obvious reasons.

Event starts on the 23rd of June and lasts till the 30th of June.  This will give people the chance to stack some more RADS or setup the wallet if needed.

We welcome Shahab, community manager (West) who will help with community building and spreading Radium awareness.
...

Did you just welcome yourself? Cheesy

lol. It will be one of Shahab tasks to put news on here so we thought he could start with the new team member tweet which funnily enough is about him.  Grin

Any time frame when this may be completed? Hopefully; we can get more volume and liquidity going forward. I worry about buying large amounts of a coin when it would be hard to sell. Any thoughts on this moving forward?
Security has always been a priority to us, so my answer to your qustion will be 'when it's ready'.  I know that's not what you want to hear, but I don't want to pinpoint us to a specific date.  That being said, it should be production ready within the coming 2-6 months I would think. As a matter of fact, I have been testing the new wallet over the last 3 weeks myself and it is working as intended.  It's our lead dev that makes the call when to release it though and we trust his experience and judgement.

I absolutely agree with you about liquidity and we are well aware of the issue.  See my post above regarding volume and liquidity.

It's a responsability of the community as well though, they need to provide liquidity and help spread the word about Radium.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RADS] Radium - Decentralized Identities, Custom Assets, Elections, and More! on: May 13, 2020, 09:39:18 AM
The Radium codebase upgrade (+ wallet) is 85% complete and is expected to be released later this year. It will include:

Decreased syncing times
Less orphan blocks
Atomic Swaps
Staking reward tracker
Backwards compatible
...

Hey thanks for the update! Always nice to see tech improvements.

Maybe you can also shed some light on any new partnerships or listings? Roll Eyes

Well, we are talking to several exchanges and other service platforms like swap services and fiat gateways, but we avoid fake volume exchanges and/or exchanges that ask excessive listing fees.

We noticed that on the smaller exchanges that listed Rads over the last year, there is hardly any liquidity.  One of the reasons for that is that most liquidity is sitting on Bittrex and people are comfortable with that.  We can understand, Bittrex is a very reputable exchange.  Another reason is that we have a loyal staking community that prefers to stake with their coins rather than putting them on smaller exchanges, which makes sense so those community members don't want to offer liquidity.

So we changed our strategy and are now aiming to get as many Bittrex partners as possible that share the Bittrex's order book.  That way we can spread awareness of Radium into other regions in the world like eg Asia and guide more people to the Bittrex market in the hope to increase liquidity and trading activity.

So far three Bittrex partners joined and listed Radium:
- VCC (Vietnam)
- Bitmonex (Mongolia)
- Bitvoicex (Taiwan)

Swap services (SimpleSwap, StealthEX) and fiat gateways (Litebit.EU and Cryptomate) also use the Bittrex book.

Our 2nd biggest 'family' if we can call it like like that is Upbit which is another real volume exchange.  Radium is listed on Upbit Korea and Upbit Indonesia.  Unfortuantely the Radium wallet has been down for many months as they are rebuilding their legacy system after the exchange got hacked at the end of last year.  We are in contact with them and the wallet should come back online later this month or next month, according to them. We also requested a RADS/KRW pair for Upbit Korea as a RADS/BTC pair is not that useful over there.  A KRW pair will create much more trading activity and thus volume which might increase liquidity as well.
We will have to wait and see if Upbit can deliver.

We have a few very strong partnerships going like Mycointainer (staking pool) and StakeSafe (sells preconfigured Radium PI).  They have been very reliable and productive partners.  We are also working together with another official partner: the University of Texas at Arlington, to work on the layer 2 solution (The Smartchain) to combat fraud with eg the diploma use-case, but the pandemic has slowed things down for the moment on that front.  It gives us time though to finish the mainchain code base upgrade which is needed as it was getting outdated.  Once that's done we will put more focus on the layer 2 again.

There's another partnership in the making that I can't talk much about yet, we will release an announcement and blog post when the time has come.
And we are looking into forming an alliance, more on that later as well.

EDIT: Forgot to add, the new codebase supports atomic swaps so we should be able to get on a few more DEX. Talks with eg Block DX Exchange have already been started and have been positive so far.

Radium is doing well on Mycointainer (staking pool) and is among the 5 most popular assets on the platform.  It's a good solution for people who can't or don't want to stake on their own PC:

I need help fixing an issue with the wallet on Ubuntu

I currently can't unlock wallet for staking because the top menu bar is not showing the top bar options (File Edit View)

Can you join our discord server pls so we can offer direct support.  Our devs are always available there:

We are aware Win Defender and some antivirus software flags the radium client exe file as a virus.  This is a false positive, there's not much we can do about it, just exclude the file in Defender.

To be absolutely sure you can always get the exe file verified on The Radium Smartchain, that's what it is designed for, to combat fraud using blockchain tech.

You just click 'verify a file' at the bottom and upload the exe file:
https://smartchain.radiumcore.org/records

You should see a window that says the file is known and it should be signed by jj12880 which is our lead dev.

check Wallet, are you upgrading or maybe webserver crash, April 2 is last day of correct rewards, I have 2 wallets neither is running correctly
What do you mean?

There have been no upgrades to the client lately and the Radium blockchain (+ staking rewards) is a global decentralized network so it's not dependant on a webserver.

You can join our Telegram or Discord for additional direct support if you need it:

the site is no longer loading

Web server crashed due to a failed kernel upgrade and had to be restarted, everything is working as intended again now.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: February 21, 2020, 01:34:34 PM
"no development, old codebase and slow wallet"

I'm actually still around (creator of clam here) and recently posted a updated client to github..  much improved. Put clam into a much newer codebase then the peercoin code it originated from.

Its still in beta, and ive been waiting to hear more feedback before pushing it onto master.. but if you check the releases on github.com/nochowderforyou/clams you'll see a new beta release for 2.1.0

all 3 of those points are kinda take care of there!

What about exchange expansion, who's going to pay for the listing fees to get on mid to top tier exchanges? Who's going to pay for a memorandum (a legal opinion suggesting Clams is not a security) which will cost 10-15k dollar minimum, which is needed to get on most mid to top exchanges these days?  It's probably the reason why Bittrex delisted Clams (no memorandum delivered) right?

What is Clams' usecase apart from staking, what sets it apart from plenty of other staking coins with better rewards and that do have liquidity so bigger investors can get in and out easely.  2020 is the year of staking, what has been done so far to get Clams in the spotlight, who's leading the charge and is contacting outlets in the staking ecosystem? Who's doing networking to forge partnerships? etc.

New Twitter page etc., linkedin, Facebook campaigns?

Just saying you know.

We don't pay extortionist, so if that is your idea of a successful cryptocurrency then lol... welcome to the bottom of the barrel.  Kiss

However, you're welcome to take up any of those causes you listed.  Cryptocurrency is a community thing... just because we don't do something, doesn't mean you don't have to!

Lulz a memorandum for $15k... to stay on Bitrex... bahahaahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha
Some (fake volume) exchanges extort and should be avoided, others have listing fees of 0.3 BTC or lower, some are free but less and less are free.  I'm talking about mid to top tier exchanges, not amateur exchanges like yours.
The bottom of the barrel is where Clams is now.  Go look at Clams ranking on CMC and Coingecko which are the number 1 and 2 places potential new users and existing crypto users look at.  You call that a successful cryptocurrency? (that's a rhetorical question) I don't see your fantastic exchange that nobody uses listed on there btw.

No wonder Clams is near dead looking at your reaction lol.  You don't even understand that the memorandum is not to stay listed on Bittrex alone, it's to get on more mid to high tier exchanges and thus spread awareness as well as Clams not being seen as a security by the SEC and other regulators around the world. As exchanges are not allowed to list securities.  Unless it's some small exchange that's unknown, has no volume and that nobody cares about like the one you built.

EDIT: As for me helping out...I already did more than enough by posting here on the boards what might help Clams from going down the shitter even more.  I no longer have a stake in this coin so I'm not incentivized to do more.

Kill yourself, please.  Thanks Smiley

You've been crying since 2018 about CLAM.  Truth be told, you may have made hundreds of thousands of dollars with CLAM if you wouldn't be such a negative nancy constantly.
It's idiots like you who turned away investors like me who liked Clams initially and saw potential in it and wanted to help it grow.  No big staker wants to get in 6-8 orphans out of 24 blocks, that's not crying, that's called bad business that needed to be resolved, not only for me but for future investors.  It didn't get resolved and so I got out of Clams and another project benefits from my investment and my contributions now and glad I did, I only get 1 orphan out of 24 blocks found, sometimes none at all.  We're listed on plenty of exchanges, swap sevices and fiat gateways by now, including Bittrex, Upbit and VCC.  We forged several partnerships in and outside the blockchain industry. I also give advice to another project that was in an even worse situation than Clams is in now, but they're slowly turning it around and are making good progress.

So yeah whatever you say dude, I know what my advice is worth and I know yours is worth jack shit.

https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/riecoin
Coingecko is now tracking southXchange pairs for RIC
This should also reflect on miningpoolstats.
As soon as we get a bit more volume, we should be able to request the pair added back to coinmarketcap

Exactly, getting on CMC is the next step, well done Riecoin community!
