ANNOUNCEMENT Hello everyone, As per announced earlier, i am planning to redistribute XOR to all the ORA asset holders on the 2nd of April, or maybe sooner depending on the scenario. To redeem for XOR, you need to send all your ORA assets to the NXT account NXT-G7QA-2KUA-BLLZ-5FUCY. No messages needed attached with the assets. That is all. A very simple process. I will then send the XOR back to your account that you used to send me the ORA assets. You can start sending them now and on the deadline i will send the XOR to you. Please do not wait until last minute to send your assets, do it fast. NXT account to send your ORA assets: NXT-G7QA-2KUA-BLLZ-5FUCY Deadline: To be announced. For MIC holders, Please use the same account to send your MIC assets. The exchange ratio : i. MIC - Allocated 10% - 55,951,603.
Total existing MIC = 250,000,000 So, each MIC will receive = 55,951,603/250,000,000 = 0.22 XOR
You can start sending your assets now!. DH oh i missed this, therefore i'm not sure, if the old ORA assets after the change will be worthless? It's not too late right now. Send your assets to the above address

PM me the IP address of your VPS, so I can try it myself. One of our testers just said me, that normally you don't have to change anything in the config file, as long as you simply want to access your wallet. Edit: Else, he recommended the following steps: 1.) stop the node (forever stop 0) 2.) check for instances (forever list) > this should return "no forever processes running" 3.) start the node (forever start app.js) 4.) check for instances again (forever list) > this should now return the local logfile location 5.) read the logfile > cat logFileLocation/logFile.log And post it here. root@ns372487:~/0.1.9c# forever stop 0 info: Forever stopped process: uid command script forever pid id logfile uptime [0] oKtZ /usr/bin/nodejs app.js 30752 30754 /root/.forever/oKtZ.log 0:0:1:37.88 root@ns372487:~/0.1.9c# forever list info: No forever processes running root@ns372487:~/0.1.9c# forever start app.js warn: --minUptime not set. Defaulting to: 1000ms warn: --spinSleepTime not set. Your script will exit if it does not stay up for at least 1000ms info: Forever processing file: app.js root@ns372487:~/0.1.9c# forever list info: Forever processes running data: uid command script forever pid id logfile uptime data: [0] 8NWm /usr/bin/nodejs app.js 30877 30879 /root/.forever/8NWm.log 0:0:0:3.312 root@ns372487:~/0.1.9c# cat /root/.forever/8NWm.log root@ns372487:~/0.1.9c#
The log file is empty

Iīve tried to setup a crypti node on ubuntu 14.10. :~/0.1.9c# forever list info: Forever processes running data: uid command script forever pid id logfile uptime data: - Zb_j /usr/bin/nodejs app.js 5811 5813 /root/.forever/Zb_j.log 0:0:49:21.958
seems like it is running fine. But the logs.log is empty and the webinterface @IP:6040 shows "Cannot GET / " Any clues whatīs wrong here? Bump Is there anyone who can help?

Made my own currency and started minting. To see the monetary system in action is damn cool.
I've not yet figured out how to mint. Could you maybe explain to less technically adept people (me)? How long until it's on the main net?
Depends on how well this test goes, probably. We've heard no firm dates yet, but maybe the development manager ChuckOne can tell us. Have a look at the config file. There's a section for minting. After that start minter.sh/bat It's quite easy

BTW: The documentation got updated: https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/issue/205/monetary-system-documenationLetīs discuss the ORA currency properties. Iīm thinking of the following: EXCHANGEABLE = 1 CONTROLLABLE = 0 RESERVABLE = 0 CLAIMABLE = 0 MINTABLE= 1 NON_SHUFFLEABLE = 0 To be able to exchange the currency to NXT and maybe even other currencies later is a must have. Controllable, Reservable, Claimable arenīt any features for ORA, as all stakes are distributed initially. Shuffling will be one of the big features in my eyes. For the Mining feature there must be minimal and maximal difficulty values. There will be little to no miners at the beginning, so the diff shouldnīt be too low?? How many units should be allocated to mining, if any? Whatīs your opinion on all this? Of course the final setup should be tested completely on NXT testnet once 1.4e is ready, as it isnīt possible to change something after issuing ORA.

Maybe smart contracts can solve this issue in future, but I think for now it's better to reduce the time having a high amount in a treasury account.
Notice there is a "Minting" section under MS, coins could be added as required. The effect on the economy is identical, the only difference is that whilst price stays the same, market capitalization instantly jumps (as you see with ripple) when a new chunk is minted. Yes, I did already noticed the mining feature. This will be the only way to create new ORA units. With this feature people recognizing ORA later will still have a chance to get their stake. Iīve never mined a single coin, but Iīm a supporter of having some PoW integration into ORA, as there are so many miners with specialised equipment. @th4o, I agree that it's a community goal to draw down the treasury funds asap, but in saying that I think we still have to take sufficient time to 'execute' the distributions without making too many mistakes, and there are ways to mitigate the obvious downside of having large amounts of funds centralised. NXT will have multi-sig implemented soon (I think), and once that's in place we can use a similar process to the SuperNET with multiple treasurers needing to sign off on any distributions from the community funds.
It obviously wont sit well with everyone, and that concern 'in principle' (i.e. centralisation is dangerous) is well founded IMO, and that helps to keep everyone on their game. I would like to say that our two community treasurers (Darkhorse & fragORA) are doing a magnificant job, and both have my full support. Darkhorse in particular has established himself as a trusted and respected member of the NXT community, and as he is currently in control of the majority of ORA's community funds, that should give us ALL a good measure of confidence, but yes, it'll be a good day when the bulk of the coins are mostly distributed with the remainder held in mult-sig accounts controlled by multiple people.
According to the development roadmap multisig wonīt be implemented soon, I donīt even think it will be released inside the first half of the next year. I would recommend to distribute at least ~90% as soon as possible. Itīs analog to altcoins with a high premine, most people hearing of them the first time arenīt interested because of this issue.

I like the proposed changes and having more people involved in ORA by burning other coins, but I don't like having too much of the pie in a treasury account for a very long time. (And even a year is much in crypto right now) It's not that I don't trust you... people in contact with ora the first time wouldn't. It's a too centralised idea. Maybe smart contracts can solve this issue in future, but I think for now it's better to reduce the time having a high amount in a treasury account.
