is a nvida 980 ti better then the amd ?
I have in my PC system a 980ti so i can buy a secord an make sli. so i can use it for gaming too
The AMD is better then the 980ti at mining. p.s. SLI or crossfire are useless in mining, but you can mine with multiple GPU |

I kind of played with wattool and polaris editor and I reached the next resulting. 6x + 470 Sapphire Nintro 8 gb ASRock B85 ANNIVERSARY Intel Pentium G3250T @ 2.8GHz 162-165 Mh / s on Claymore dual 8.1 @ 669 watts on the wall  per card 27+ cca 101-103w per card, Others consume the rest of the system gpu core 1050 / 820mV mem samsung 2050 (strap 1625) 900mV For me, the main energy saving and efficiency. This is a damn good setup! 670Wat are a very good power usage result |

wolf ci avevo pensato, ma per uno come me creare una pool penso sia + difficile che per l'america mandare REALMENTE uomini sulla luna servrebbe una guioda per crearsi una pool per noob Basta avere un amico che crea le pool per te  |

You can change the BIOS and set the max frequency that u want, independently from the value set by the producer.
However my cards became unstable over 2200 (I am using 1750 timings)
Which particular cards are you speaking of? rx 470 nitro+ with samsung memory Are you running on stock voltages/core clock? No. Core at 1150@950 and Memory 2200@1100 |

Anche perchè ambros, al lancio degli zcash, se ricordi visto che eravamo insieme nella chat mining, offrivano anche quelli come mining, vendevano talmente potenza in zcash, che nemmeno usando tutti i computer della cina erano in grado di generarla I migliori sono quelli che prima dell'uscita dei miner GPU hanno venduto potenze ridicole a prezzi sbalorditivi. Tipo l'intera potenza venduta da genesis mining per qualche decina di migliaia di $ la facevano i miei rig  |

If I buy one such rig then how many kwh it will consume in 24 hours? ( I want to calculate my electricity cost)
And what to expect from it in terms of profits?
There is not a default power usage. I just give you an example with one of my rigs: 5x Sapphire nitro+ RX 470 4Gb While mining ETH the power consume is around 750W. Let's suppose you have a 0.10$/Kwh rate 750W = 0.750KW Daily cost= 0.750*24*0.10=1.8$ I hope this helps |

You are very lucky (because of the energy) and your strategy is good! Also consider that right now we are all getting almost double that the reward that we got for the last 6 months, ROI can be a little bit longer than expected if this bubble explodes
less efficient/older/cheaper...up to 3kw of free electricity, the target is cheapest gear to achieve maximum hashrate..after ROI, and going above 3kw, use the most efficient GPU/ PC components because the electricity is not free beyond 3kw, if it is profitable in the long run he can add more rigs and start to phase out the old and less efficient gear and upgrade to the most efficient one by one.

BTW i've never used an add2psu since 2013, i just always make sure that the second PSU only powers the extra GPU (it''s riser included)...
OT: You noticed any problem or instability un multi-PSU rigs? I would love to build a couple myself but with I do not wanna buy any extra component. |

Admittedly, I have never modified a BIOS before. I have flashed a Mobo, but never changed figures myself. I have found other peoples settings, but not for this exact card. This is why I ask.
There are threads with collections of bios, look there. If you do not find anything, simply there is not a pre-build one around. Modify your own bios is pretty simple in 99% of cards, I hope that you are not in the unlucky 1%. That being said, your card has dual bios, so you can try how many times you need without any concern, just try man! p.s. Science proved that people people who use the search button are WAY more appreciated on bitcointalk.org |

I don't think the profitability now will last long , it will decrease again until it reaches the what i call mining support point which is $1/card seems like the avarege electricity prices worldwide keep this support point from getting lower , the only thing that can break this $1/card/day is newer hardware getting out to the market...
That is right. A few weeks ago, the mining profit was less than $1/card. Mining gain is always volatile, as the whole crypto currencies are. It's impossible to do a precise forecast, the only think we can say for sure is that there always was a coin to mine and hopefully this trend will continue. |

Why do you think that 8gb is so much more important than 4gb?
We probably have less than a year to go on ethereum? For Eth 4gb might last.
Are there some vibes that zcash might tweak the algo to a higher memory requirement?

Zero coin is the first try at 8gb coin. It is in the best interests of AMD and Nvidia for a successful 8 gb coin Do you think the AMD will push up the price of coin to sell more cards? Yes, I think so. Once the price is higher then they can sell more cards and creat new cards with high technology to meet miners' demands and Therefore They will get double profits from boosting coin price and selling their cards. That's really a smart strategy . make a loop, of course it is a smart strategy. Do you have any numbers about GPU sold for mining in a year? Because somewhere else (I do not really remember where) someone claimed that the mining market for AMD/Nvidia is so little compared to the gaming/clusters market that they do not really care about it. Personally I agree with this point of view, but I do not have any number. |

I am in trouble here. It seems that I can overclock memory and tell my fan to go 100%. Temperature drops from 84 degree celcius to 70 degree celcius.
I tried to overclock the whole card with msi afterburner and now the computer don't run anymore.
The PSU already blow up once.
So maybe the card is already slightly problematic.
But now it won't run anymore I have no idea what to do. To turn the system back to the way it used to be I would need to you know, run that msi afterburner. For that to work I need the computer to run. It doesn't.
I think I did overclock the memory to 2250mhz (9000 effective) . What do you mean by 2250 is 9000 effective?
It does hit 28 MH/s. Good enough for me.
Effective memory rate is frequency*4.. But it's not really important. Afterburn configurations gets erased after every reboot, so this is not the problem |

Whattomine.com says I should be getting 29MB/s rate.
Some says they can get 30MB/s rate.
What did I do wrong?
If you wanna reach 30MHash you should lower your timings and edit bios. Without doing that you can overclock a little bit the memory and obtain better results like 28Mhash. You can do it with MSI afterburner or Wattool on windows, otherwise you can also simpleminingOS that integrates an oC tool |

None. I maintain the best card today is the diamondmultimedia rx 480 8gb
Model on sale with free, shipping in the USA cost is 199.99.

They take PayPal I purchased two on six month interest free plan from PayPal .
The card and the deal are really good and 8 gb is the future for cards
I've never hear about that brand of rx cards. Which memory do they have? Is Polaris bios editor able to edit their timings? |
