561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Auroracoin - A new chapter in the history of Iceland! on: May 01, 2015, 09:47:04 PM
What alot of people don't get is how tiny Iceland is. 323,000. How much easier would it be to convince even 10k people in one country in a compact area to start using crypto versus Bitcoin in a major metropolitan area in a major world city? ALOT easier. Also with such a small population, word of mouth spreads fast and alot of times its just trying to convince your family and friends to start using it.
562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash's Instamined/Partly Premined Beginnings on: May 01, 2015, 02:21:36 PM
I bet Evan sees these kind of threads and thinks, damn these guys are denting my master get super rich quick plans. Dash shills have nothing but to attack Monero to justify this scam

Heh and then there is some of us who thinks both Evan AND the Monero guys are shady.
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] [XBS] Bitstake | For everyday digital currency tasks ---- SCAM!!!! BEWARE on: May 01, 2015, 03:53:02 AM
Sorry, still not buying this "it's just trading" business.

I'd much rather buy a legit coin at a $1 million market cap that climbs to $20 million with lots of liquidity then a weekly logocoin at $30k that reaches a $90k cap with no liquidity.

Let's say it for what it is, It's not trading, it's gambling. And the fact no one wants to pour money into good alts and instead scams is why we don't see big market caps anymore, it's just people fighting over bitdust and scraps at this point.
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] [XBS] Bitstake | For everyday digital currency tasks ---- SCAM!!!! BEWARE on: May 01, 2015, 02:43:56 AM
You guys lost money again?

  * Never buy at the top.

  * When you got in right, always be ready to sell for a profit even if it continues going up.

  * When a trade goes against you, be prepared to sell and take a small loss.

  * And remember, these are Pump and Dumps.  These coins have no real value.  Its price is derived from the
     laws of supply and demand.

  * Bottom line, this is trading, not investing.  You are bound to lose money from time to time.

It would be less offensive if the Bitstake dev wasn't going around hawking their bogus platform to the media, it ends up making crypto look bad as a whole.
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Auroracoin incredible scam exposed on: April 28, 2015, 02:29:14 PM
I think BCX owes Balduro an apology, the man delivered on his word to burn the premine

Are you guys trolling or are there really people, who are stupid enough to still pay into this scam?

The best part about this is the schmucks over at Learning Enterprises probably thought we'd all buy into this BS and they'd pull a fast one on us. Nice to see a scam worked on for months going down the drain Smiley
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Unlocked Thread!][ANN][BITS] BitSeeds - A Currency that Grows! on: April 28, 2015, 01:27:06 AM
If your goal is to help the RF via this crypto then you will have to start over.  Keeping the current BC for POS is futile,  Less than 3 millon coins are owned outside of the  100 million "lock box".  1/3 of that is in the hands of the 130PH hasher.  This coin, as a POS only, is on a fast slide to 1 satoshi.  You will also be losing your network support, the coins will be dumped and the users abandoning your POS block chain for greener pastures.

If you want to run a crypto COIN, then you need to start over with a non-ASIC algo, like Keccak or Cryptonight.  Instead of a premine or genesis contribution of 100 million to the RF, you should allocate X number of coins per found block to RF.

For instance, block is 100 XSEEDS, 95 XSEEDS go to finder of block, 5 XSEEDS go to RF.  You can still have POS along with POW.

However........ If you really want to make money, and I mean real $$$, you should be developing DAPPs.  At Crypti, we are nearly finished with our Custom Block Chain project, and will be launching DAPPs on the bc.

FOr more info, PM me, or check our BTT blog   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=654463

If he "starts over" its even more dead in the water as many people mined or (like myself) bought at great expense to be told our investment is gone overnight. Why would we come back then?

I don't see what the problem with POS is, the trend for all coins as of the last year has been to go POS and the increasingly shorter mining phases is just a means to an end.
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Unlocked Thread!][ANN][BITS] BitSeeds - A Currency that Grows! on: April 27, 2015, 10:44:32 PM
I think switching to POS is the right move for the coin and it is also very energy efficient which serves the mission of the project.

572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Jackson Palmer thinks you are all "white libertarian bros" on: April 26, 2015, 10:58:51 PM

Jackson Palmer got butthurt because the Dogecoin community would have nothing to do with Neu when he tried to promote it at /r/dogecoin.  https://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/33hdvo/feedback_needed_neucoin_distribution_to_dogecoin

And what did he expect? He called Doge followers a "cult" last year lol. This guy is so tone deaf.   He should have done like Tom did from Myspace when offered a fortune to cash out, take the money and run, because doge was a fad. I think it will live on and it has a strong following don't get me wrong but it won't be the 100 million market cap phenomenon it once was.
573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CRAVE 1st POS Masternodes | Dark Assets | Markets Soon =Embrace The Dark= on: April 26, 2015, 05:57:31 PM
it will never touch 0.01

I'm sure alot of people thought Darkcoin wouldn't go more than a dollar much less $16 too.
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: April 25, 2015, 01:39:19 AM

You will be able to exchange Bay directly to US$ in the client and on exchanges

OMG!!! That's great news!!! This coin is so awesome!

In theory some of us can start selling Bay for cash, yen, peso etc P2P using smart contracts in the markets. However, once the template for cash is finished that will make it more obvious on how to perform a deal like that.

I imagine some kind of paypal to bay and vice-versa smart contract could be developed?
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CRAVE 1st POS Masternodes | Dark Assets | Markets Soon =Embrace The Dark= on: April 25, 2015, 01:10:28 AM
Almost done with the native I2P integration Cheesy  I updated the code for the latest secp256k1 and will get that checked in soon as well.   Kiss

576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Unlocked Thread!][ANN][BITS] BitSeeds - A Currency that Grows! on: April 24, 2015, 05:10:46 PM
The assume is that people are all in it for themselves and could care less about others.  Correct me if I'm wrong but the whole point of these alt coins is to promote digital currencies and alternatives to the current structured system.

Heh I have such disregard for the high number of slugs on this forum I would consider bitseeds to have done more for humanity than 95% of the alt coins on here even if every one trading loses his shirt and only 1 tree ever gets planted because of it .

That being said though I hope some of us can make some good money and the RF will raise some money too, win/win for all.
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Unlocked Thread!][ANN][BITS] BitSeeds - A Currency that Grows! on: April 24, 2015, 04:56:54 PM
12 btc buy wall, if the 900k holder wants out now is his chance.
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Unlocked Thread!][ANN][BITS] BitSeeds - A Currency that Grows! on: April 24, 2015, 04:12:58 PM
if the shriners had so much money that they could fork their hospital and destroy it at any time that would easily be considered to much.
if RFF recieves these 900k coins somehow, those coin represent only 0.9% of their total holdings. Meanwhile 900k is about a third of the publicly available coins. Whoever mined those coins deserves them, unless people think RFF having 100.9million coins which can create ~11million coins yearly is fine while the rest of the community gets left with 2.1million coins to hold/trade which will still be less than 3 million by this time next year?

Of course the RFF with this massive premine could fork the coin, but the question is why would they destroy their own charity like that?

The premine is a non-issue if we are led to believe the coins will mostly be sold OTC and most will never even hit the exchanges to be dumped. The big fear is Bryce and friends potentially having alot of the coins, but even that now has been surpassed by someone with 900k coins which is a 1/3rd of the mined "publics" supply.

It just seems to me like an irrational move to counter fear with even more fear on the part of the petahash miner.
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Unlocked Thread!][ANN][BITS] BitSeeds - A Currency that Grows! on: April 24, 2015, 03:33:04 PM

I'm not comfortable with Bryce and the RFF receiving these 900k coins, that would make their obscenely-large premine even larger.

How on earth can a charity having a large premine be considered obscene?

If this were a coin for the Shriners Hospitals people here would cry about all those greedy burned children getting a lions share of the money lol.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Clones on: April 24, 2015, 03:16:39 PM
The sad thing is there ARE quite a few legit alts out there but they can never grab a decent market hold because people would rather buy the weekly scams than invest in something good.
