1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: August 25, 2018, 10:18:20 AM
i would like for someone to please tell me how much noise this baby is making. i really would like to get at least 1 but i need to know how loud it is. i can't stand to much noise in my apartment Smiley

They only draw 620W so if you have a spare PSU lying around use that and it'll be very quiet.  The provided Innosilicon PSUs are very loud, the actual miner itself is quiet though.

Looks like there's a new firmware. Has anyone tried this?

They're not as good as I'd hoped. My camera really let me down. Wish I used my Phone, lol.

thanks nice to see inside.

  u'09 pllOptimal': False,
   u'10 PLL': 354,
   u'10 pllOptimal': False,
   u'11 PLL': 354,
   u'11 pllOptimal': False,
   u'pllOptimal': True},

hmmmmmmmmmm...weirdness...not sure how to translate these numbers and why it says falsefalsefalse, but then true....

   u'VoltageBalanced': False,
   u'Voltage Avg': 860.0,
   u'Voltage Max': 872.0,
   u'Voltage Min': 850.0,

this is in volts... 0.872V is your max core voltage. like i posted before, the asic datasheet spec says optimal core voltage is 0.90V +/-10% so this can be bumped higher for the people who want to play mad scientist.

   u'VoltageBalanced': False,

i think this indicates your 3 asic cards are running at different core voltages, so some tuning of the VID for each chain will be necessary.

try changing T1PLL to 1325 and see what the u'PLL #'s come back as.
Also, try bumping T1VID up to 175 to see where your core voltage sits.

if there is more to the printout can you please post the entire thing next time?

BTW you have a typo in your config,
  "T1VID1": "170",
    "T1VID1": "170",
"T1VID1": "170",     you are setting the same variable 3 times

oh you're right. thanks, kind of invalidates test I was doing.

I noticed that if I have  "T1performance": true,  then the clock speeds I set don't seem to stick. Looking at the scrolled logs they seem to revert to 1250.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: July 25, 2018, 01:40:56 AM
FYI, I'm on a D9, but most of the software interface is the same. Last night I found the "stats" cgminer api to obtain the details of each chip (e.g., nVol, Temp, PLL). I think the values that come back are not in the units that we'd like (e.g., temp = 505; maybe correlates to 67C), but I think it would be worthwhile if someone did this for the A9 and measured the values in each of the different modes. I plan on doing this (maybe tonight) on the D9. Hopefully there's something that correlates so that we can figure out if altering the .conf file is having any remaining effects.

can you please explain how you accessed the "stats" cgminer api?

The cgminer API is available through the use of JSON RPCs. Early on, I created a python script that I made to monitor my ASICs before I knew about AwesomeMiner. I used sources like this (https://gist.github.com/WyseNynja/1500780) as a starting point and expanded from there. Premium versions of AwesomeMiner may be able to do the same thing with sending these commands.

If you do a search for "cgminer json rpc python", lots of different projects come up that you can use to hack together a solution.

I got this to work https://github.com/tsileo/pycgminer

yours is a lot more stable than mine.  have you done any changes to the PLL?  are you running performance/balanced?

hmmm i am realizing right now i did switch out the powersupply to use an atx evga 850bq...maybe that has something to do with

I am running in performance mode and using Bitmain PSU.

What coin do you mine? How much you get per day? Is it more profitable then nicehash?
Thanks

I am mining ZEC. Not sure about the payout since I have 160 kSol pointed to the same address. NH is good also but you get what others are willing to pay minus NH fees.

This is what I get
https://ibb.co/iXqu3o

I also found a file I cannot touch called 99 environment which looks to be something valuable.

I dug deeper into the PHP and found there is an access or Profile called AutoTuneMode

But after editing the cgminer.config it never wants to start up or hash

You have an error in your /etc/cgminer.conf  you're not closing the { } properly, if you paste the contents of that file can help find the exact error.

From their website "the A9 Zmaster has operation modes from low power to over clock high performance through adjustment of PLL output clock frequency and/or in combination with voltage adjustment - See more at: http://www.innosilicon.com/a9asic/index.html"

Also if you google "innosilicon a9 clock speed" there's a pdf that goes into more detail.

I reconnected my bitmain PSU and will report back to see if my hashrates have stabilized more.

In the meantime, can anyone else report that they see extremely high hashrates when turning the ASIC on, eventually dropping back to the 50ksol range?

Yes I do see high hash rates in the first couple minutes. Might it be an artifact of it submitting successful hashes at a lower difficulty?
I also get the feeling that adjusting PLL speeds in cgminer.conf isn't properly taking effect or is somehow reverted.

It's puzzling. With gpu mining and Equihash increasing core clock speed didn't make nearly as much difference in memory clock speed.
At the same time the Bitmain Z9 seems easily amenable to overclock.

how to connect to the miner via telnet? What port to open it?

you want to use ssh or putty in Windows, connect to port 22. I haven't seen anyone have success increase speed though.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: July 23, 2018, 02:50:59 AM
Hard to tell really. I haven't seen any noticable improvement in hash rates though... I am curious about the voltages for the first one it says a default of 8.

--T1VID1 <arg>      set voltage (1 ~ 255) (default: Cool
--T1VID1 <arg>      set voltage (1 ~ 255) (default: 166)
--T1VID2 <arg>      set voltage (1 ~ 255) (default: 166)

Although it's hard to know how specific to the device those voltages. I can't see 166 set as voltage anywhere in my miner logs. Where are others seeing it?

Also not really sure why I'm seeing 20W lower power draw.

vim

Press i to enter insert mode then you can change things.
Then Esc-wq! to write the changes.

What is the default voltage? I'm wondering if 170 is undervolting the cards.

...oh 166, wonder if that's right.

..and power draw has dropped from 620W to 600W. I guess running fans faster and keeping things cooler...
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: July 22, 2018, 11:43:43 PM
Has anyone gotten the privileged API access working? I've changed the cgminer.conf to allow it (i.e., "W:0/0"), but the privileged RPC keeps coming back denied. I'm wondering if they compiled a custom version that turned that completely off except for local (i.e., 127.0.0.1) access.
It looks like the framework inside is completely built on RPC privileged access through RPCs to cgminer. But they implemented using bootstrap jss and php. And the formatting of the jss files are NO white space. For a generic, user-friendly interaction, someone what jss and bootstrap knowledge may need to get involved.

Says here: http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/minerapi.aspx that on Innosilicon devices it's disabled, but there's a work around. I haven't looked at it.

I've been running at 1400 and 170. Seems stable and temps are at 50C with fan at 30%. Can't say hash rates are much improved yet. Only been running for about 30 minutes so far.

I'd be careful adjusting voltages if it's anything similar to overclocking gpus. Perhaps just start with clockspeeds.
