1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 05, 2014, 02:17:16 PM
Hi,

Just wanted to let you know I have created a service for live monitoring of monero price: http://moneromarkets.com/

Its faster than the poloniex-site. Only supports poloniex today, but will add others if anyone requests it.

This good, having a faster way of seeing the current price is one of the features I was going to push towards, though your 6 hour chart doesn't seem to be working for me.

It works fine on Chrome, Firefox, iPad and iPhone, though Internet Explorer 11 causes the recent orders chart to display incorrectly.

Will you add the numbers to show how much volume it is that the volume bars represent?

Yes will add that. Please let me know if you have more feature requests. I put a first version with a minimum of features so that I only implement features that's usable to people.

Is it problem with the 6 hour chart only in IE11? Could you post a screenshot, or any other additional information? I have created a dedicated thread where we can continue the discussion: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=793826.msg8940972

The poloniex website is very slow for following price live so I created a service: http://moneromarkets.com

I want to donate 5 XMR. Do I just send it to the donation adress? How will you know it's from me?

Just send it, we will believe you. It is only when you claim to have sent for example 100 XMR, there needs to be some proof.

I will add you straight away! Smiley

Made the transaction of 5XMR at 2014-07-17 09:53:27
Thanks!

I want to donate 5 XMR. Do I just send it to the donation adress? How will you know it's from me?

Add a payment ID.
On poloniex : https://www.poloniex.com/balances
Click on Generate New Payment ID
Then you can either send directly using poloniex adding the payment ID or use your wallet adding the payment ID like this :

Code:
transfer 0 47sghzufGhJJDQEbScMCwVBimTuq6L5JiRixD8VeGbpjCTA12noXmi4ZyBZLc99e66NtnKff34fHsGRoyZk3ES1s1V4QVcB 5 0260000573afaacd67e95183ecd1a6693f6be146475db85e0dd079dbb3c3c33b

I used a payment id when I made the donation. Can send it for proof if needed Smiley

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 29, 2014, 11:04:08 AM
I have problem withdrawing MRO from poloniex.

In simplewallet I wrote the address command to get my MRO address. This address I used to withdraw my MRO to. 12hours later I still haven't received my MRO.

[wallet XXXXX]: refresh
Starting refresh...
Refresh done, blocks received: 185
balance: 0.000000000000, unlocked balance: 0.000000000000

[wallet XXXXX]: balance
balance: 0.000000000000, unlocked balance: 0.000000000000

Whats wrong?

Check the withdraw history on your poloniex balance page. Whether or not you see it there, open a ticket with them at poloniex.freshdesk.com/support

I see it there with a status ERROR at the bottom of the page. Their site doesn't have a super intuitive UI. I have to open a ticket. Thanks for the help!

I have problem running a wallet on OSX.

1. Downloaded the binaries linked in op.
2. Downloaded blockchain and put in ~/.bitmonero
3. Started bitmonerod and waited until message "You are now synchronized with the network. You may now start simplewallet. ...."
4. Started simplewallet and successfully created a new wallet. Run refresh command. Got this output:

Starting refresh...
Error: refresh failed: daemon is busy. Please try later. Blocks received: 0

Anyone have any ideas? Wanna buy monero but need to get this working first.

The blockchain you downloaded is few days behind. Wait it to sync, enter "save" in bitmonerod window and then enter "refresh" in the wallet.

It worked, thanks!

The beauty of the 5.25-year trendline with exponential fit (R^2=0.93 which is pretty darn good) is that it takes into account every worry of every person who has ever owned or not owned bitcoins. I put more weight on that than the individual worries of a single person.

The trendline is a representation of how people have speculated in the history of Bitcoin. As Anonymint points out we have a large merchant adoption that we haven't had the last 5.25 years.  Do you think new  factors with a possible large impact like this can make the trendline less accurate?
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: April 01, 2014, 07:49:52 PM

The bigger issue is that we are building a merchant base that converts everything to fiat. This is what you are incentivizing. And it is compounding faster than adoption. Once you have a single service provider controlling all merchants, then no altcoin can be accepted (once they do the blacklisting on coins that don't carry full identity). And that provider will be controlled by the government. You say you want to get away from Paypal, then you hand control right back to Peter Thiel again.

Just go ahead 'tards to your centralized hell.

Any one serious about liberty is welcome to come help on something serious. Not this BS.

I dont understand how a merchant base that converts everything to fiat will lead to a single service provider controlling all merchants. Could you please elaborate?

If I understand you correctly your biggest concern is not short term price drop but that your anonymous altcoin will not be adopted because of all this?

So who is paying those high fees? We the customers in the exchange rate!!! And liquidating our investment!

Fuck we've been sucked into a fiat vortex by that same bastard Peter Thiel who angel funded Facebook and Paypal.

This is war. I'm livid. It is time to get serious.

Usually I like what you are writing. You have interesting thoughts about the need for anonymization in cryptocurrency and the comming ecnonmic collapse.

Now it feels like you are just spreading FUD. You say "we the customers" when you dont even own any coins and have no intention to be a bitcoin customer. You use a strong language and insult people. It feels like the most important thing for you is to have a strong opinion more than understand reality.

Could anyone conceive of a better moment to buy then in the low after mtGox and real China-ban, that actually coincides with the usual post ATH dip and spring-depression? There's a limit to how favorable you want the stars to align.

got a hunch? buy a bunch.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: March 22, 2014, 03:19:15 PM
It seesm everybody and their sister is looking to buy at that $400 level. I suspect that final capitulation may be closer to $200-250 but I know nobody wants to hear that.

Why do you see a lot of buyers at $400 as a sign that the final capitulation will be < $400?

bears will buy back after they see nothing happens on the 31st

What bears? Although price has slid -20% in 3 weeks with no sign to the better, the bear camp is almost empty. Imagine the hooray from bull camp if the price had gone up this much in this time.. Roll Eyes This way you know the relative numbers of each.

You're delusional. The bear camp is way bigger than the bull camp right now. Mainly because of China and the Jan 31st deadline.

I also have the impression that the bear camp is bigger right now. If this is true, we will probably see a rise in the price in february when all bears want to buy back in.
