I would agree it's not looking good as we know they will prioritize transaction going to there platforms in there blocks so could be more of a problem than we know at this point in time.

I have sent them a few questions for the AMA session and I will post the reply if the chose the questions.

Never tried a rental service, but just ordered a 53TH for 24 hours on Ebay to test it out.

I am not sure if those hashpower sellers are legit or not, I doubt their integrity, I hate to say this but probably Nicehash is the place to go for hash rental, but you should still wait for other suggestions as I am not really into renting hashrate since I use my own gears.

I second MRR they are really good I prefer them to nicehash to be honest and if you pay in litecoin you can sometimes get some decent miners for nice price's there.

8  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM: Bitcoin SV (BSV) - fake team member and plagiarized white paper on: April 02, 2020, 01:24:46 PM
I think we all know that he's a fraud by this point only those bag holders are the one's claiming he's satoshi's we all know he's not satoshi and will never move a single of the satoshi coin's.

I wish the forum would ban any talk of him and his scam coin at the end of the day none of what this fraud stands for even remotely falls into line with the way satoshi conducted himself or the values that he made public and the bitcoin system.

While this guy is allowed to push his fraudulent coin and narrative it can only have a negative impact on the community while we should be focused on what bitcoin is doing we're spending time and energy to deal with this fraud of a man when we should and could be using this energy to push Bitcoin  further.

While it's important we protect people from the lies and fraud coin we really need to shift the energy back to bitcoin and push it to new heights the world situation right now is what  bitcoin was created for we are about to see the most unstable time in our lives with the banking industry if bitcoin ever had it's time to shine it's right now let's not waste our time, effort's or energy on this faketoshi any longer there are much bigger fish to fry at this time.

I hope your all staying safe at this time and stacking stats.

Forget the fraud...Long live the King...

12  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Binance announce Bitcoin Mining Pool ( Binance Pool ) on: April 01, 2020, 09:36:50 PM
CZ has tweeted that they are looking into opening a Binance mining pool with some heavy rewards for miners moving to the pool.

It seems they have been reaching out to large miners in china to see if they are willing to jump to the Binance pool.

Details are few at the moment on the pool but it will be interesting to see where this op leads and what type of payment system binance will adopt to the pool.

https://www.coindesk.com/binance-crypto-exchange-is-launching-its-first-bitcoin-mining-pool

Quote
The company has already hired some professionals for this purpose, some of them former Bitmain employees. The launch is planned for the Q2 2020...

Quote
Jakhon Khabilov of Sigmapool pool, stated that Binance has already offered potential clients “generous” referral bonuses as it has been reaching out to some miners in China to promote the upcoming new service.

So the question should be is this more centralization in the bitcoin world? with Binance being by far the biggest exchange could they also now become the biggest player in the pool sector?

Only time will tell.
13  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining USA/DE 255 blocks solved! on: April 01, 2020, 08:12:40 PM
I think the 500ghs just can't cut 500k diff will leave them on next 24hrs then think they will probably retire Sad

** Edit **

So 1 of the miners try's for around 2.5 hr before the the pool status goes to dead then the annoying S3+ BEEP BEEP BEEP.
My other one flashed with some other firmware seems to stay connected but fail's to submit any shares now 4hr's.

14  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining USA/DE 255 blocks solved! on: April 01, 2020, 07:21:18 PM
Okay thanks. The pool switches within 1 second to 1 million diff, but it appears to not even recognise that. That means I'll have to change the minimum diff across the pool to 500k as well. Will restart it shortly with that change. I apologise to all the smaller miners for doing this, but rentals are by far the bulk of the hashes hitting the pool now.

When the renter's give up though or go broke us little guys would still be around.

I don't think I can keep my miners here now as I cannot keep track of the hashrate of them at 500k diff they just sit there with 0 showing now sad times for us small guys Sad

That confirms it; theymos apparently thinks it's funny to joke about a disease outbreak that (by my guesstimate) will probably directly kill at least a million people

Roll Eyes If you choose to see-as-evil acts which were clearly done in the spirit of fun & good faith, then you're creating demons for your personal living hell...

There is a rare worldwide shared cultural experience going on in the form of the pandemic and the resulting unprecedented social distancing policies. It's similar to a world war in terms of its widespread cultural significance. So this little game came to my mind to connect with it. As with several past bitcointalk.org April Fools things, it's more of a new/weird/fun way for people to interact with the forum and generate discussion, not a joke as such. Certainly it wasn't meant to somehow poke fun at the many real tragedies created by the coronavirus situation; it was meant to connect with the huge thing dominating the minds/lives of basically everyone on Earth.

How come your not "infected" theymos Smiley

What the hell is going on with the forum and the text?
17  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 255 blocks solved! on: April 01, 2020, 01:13:33 PM
I'll be restarting the pool shortly with some updates, with the 4334 port to return as a highdiff port, set to 1 million. Downtime should be minimal. Additionally, as I'd been planning for a while with the halving, the fee will unfortunately be increased to 2%.

I don't think anyone can argue with 2% CK you deserve it for your efforts to all us mining degenerates.

Now ROLL ON THE BLOCKS (preferably before the halving!)  Cheesy

19  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: call for help-error when compiling bitcoin source code on: March 31, 2020, 05:00:24 PM
It seems your OPENSSL is of a older version the error below can be dew to this factor.

Code:
undefined reference to `OPENSSL_init_crypto'

First check with

Code:
./openssl version -a

The you should look to set compile flags to point to where you installed openssl.

Ahhh bliss back to 401 diff Smiley  Don't think the S3's liked 1M one of them was trying for over 12 hr's until it found one.

Thanks for the roll back CK Smiley
