1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PSA: Add a Full Node for just $19/year! on: June 18, 2014, 10:06:51 PM
Ok i have done a clean new install with ubuntu 12.04 but can someone know why i cant access my server via ssh? When i try to do that i get this strange message?

Quote
(snip SSH error)
Offending RSA key in /home/spiros/.ssh/known_hosts:1
  remove with: ssh-keygen -f "/home/spiros/.ssh/known_hosts" -R 69.12.86.115
RSA host key for 69.12.86.115 has changed and you have requested strict checking.
Host key verification failed.

i can access my server through control panel of weloveservers but i cant access it from a consoloe in my pc.
thx for any advice

This was solved in IRC. For those following along at home: This is expected when you rebuild a server, because the ssh client no longer recognizes it. Fix it by running the provided 'ssh_keygen' command, on the CLIENT MACHINE where you're running ssh (not on the VPS).
2  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: [ANN] The first Armory-for-OSX Release! (Testing) on: April 16, 2013, 07:20:13 PM
So, in theory DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH isn't the right way to accomplish this sort of thing -- you're supposed to be able to embed library paths in the executable so that it knows where to look to load the right ones.

In practice I don't know how to do this, or what I'm talking about.
3  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: [ANN] The first Armory-for-OSX Release! (Testing) on: April 16, 2013, 07:11:00 PM
So I will note also that if you 'otool -l' the .Python in the app, which appears to be the python library, you get (among other things):

Load command 8
      cmd LC_VERSION_MIN_MACOSX
  cmdsize 16
  version 10.8
      sdk 10.8

So that makes me suspect this might be the reason it crashes on less than 10.8? But I'm not sure why that would produce a segfault, so there may be multiple issues.

The main front/signup page still has lorem ipsum text on it ... is that considered a bug? :-)

PMing for beta access.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Resolved] 111 BTC AS FEES (don't do raw tx's when you're tired) on: March 07, 2013, 03:08:35 AM
The fee went to Eligius. Luke-Jr reports that has a deal with his hosting provider, which is apparently MtGox, to share fees; so he has some negotiating to before he can even think about giving this one back. (Also, I don't think anybody's come forward yet...)

She says yes, it was the last one (as of this morning) on that page.

Why not do some free market research for Bitcoin -- show her the other posters on that page and ask her what she thinks of them? Which one would make her most likely to trust bitcoin? What message do they send to her? :-)

Remember to check your spam folder!

I was about to write a message complaining about how I still hadn't received any email from BFL, until I realized that I should follow my own advice first. So checked my spam folder, and sure enough, there it was.

Might be nice if they made the page refresh itself automatically, to spare me the heart attack. ;-)

Are you using Chrome perchance ? I almost missed the small popup in the bottom right of the browser window telling me the page had changed, and to click the reload button; not sure why it didn't refresh automagically.

Huh. I am indeed using chrome, but I'm not aware of anything like that being a Chrome feature (and I didn't see it.) Maybe it's a feature of bitpay, and they just need to make it larger?

^^ reload that invoice page, it should show updated status

it would be great if BFL or Bitpay mailed the link and also confirmation email after payment clears.

Whooooo, thanks Serge. You're my savior today. After refreshing, I do indeed see an invoice indicating payment in full was received.

Might be nice if they made the page refresh itself automatically, to spare me the heart attack. ;-)

I am in a similar boat to the person who complained earlier.

I opted to pay through bit-pay, never got any confirmation from BFL, just a redirect to a bitpay invoice with a 15 minute ticking countdown. I paid, checked that the transaction was visible on bitcoincharts, but unconfirmed of course. The countdown ticked to zero without any acknowledgement of my transaction (which has since gotten confirms.)

So... what now? I have an invoice page that says it's expired, nothing from BFL, nothing from bitpay, and I'm out 200 BTC...

I have emailed bitpay, with no response so far, to see what happened to my transaction. I am not happy about the total lack of any sort of confirmation, though, even if it did go through. And if bitpay declares that they didn't get the coins in time.... what exactly do they plan to do with them in that case?

Gone :-(
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much would you pay for a 5870? on: June 13, 2011, 04:54:38 PM
I would definitely buy one at $250, and probably more at $200 or less.

I would love to see a tool like this for linux. A one-stop "mining mode" would be really handy.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce yourself :) on: June 13, 2011, 04:18:55 PM
I'm gwillen. I bought most of my bitcoin at US$1, which I'm pretty happy about. :-) I briefly looked into trading bitcoin for profit, and you can find the results of that attempt in my bitcoin-otc web of trust entry, but I ultimately decided that the effort combined with the legal risk was too much for the amount of profit involved.

Note that this account was previously held by a scammer who was trying to trade on my bitcoin-otc reputation. I believe his account has been renamed to fake_gwillen.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: damn i wasted money on 6970 on: June 13, 2011, 03:54:27 PM
Well, that's only true if you can actually get a 5850 at US$140. Right now newegg is claiming to sell them for US$185, but the real problem is they are all sold out - you can't get them anymore!

I love my 5850, but now that they are too hard to find, if I got another card it would be a 6970, or 6870, or 6950, or 5770.
