221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what impact has gambling make in your life? on: December 26, 2017, 10:39:26 PM
I don't gamble much these days. I'm trying my best to save money. If I start gambling again I'll probably lose too much like before.

I tend to "go for broke" so to speak. And that is what usually happens. Shocked

It does can change the way of your thinking and the way of your living but it can also affect your life if you don't handle it well.

You don't say? Cheesy
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Whats your favorite game? on: December 26, 2017, 09:58:29 PM
My favorite game is hands down Texas Holdem poker. However, I don't consider it gambling because there is so much skill involved, it is practically a 100% skill game. Th only time luck is involved is with 2 players of equal skill, actually.

As for other games I don't really have a favorite.
223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you would win a Jackpot what would you do with the money? on: December 26, 2017, 09:13:06 PM
I never plan to win the jackpot. It is one of the worst mistakes one can do when gambling. The last thing you want to do is play and play until you win the jackpot because chances are you will lose more by the time you actually win.

The better thing is to watch which machines haven't paid out a jackpot in a long time. This means it is ready to payout a jackpot at any time, and that is when you want to start playing to guarantee that you will win.

Now, if I were to win I *hope* that I'd be smart enough not to blow it all very fast.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What was your worst mistake in Gambling? on: December 26, 2017, 09:10:09 PM
Being greed is the worst mistake in gambling. If you can keep your greediness safely, then it wouldn't be a mistake and you can take a profit a k a withdraw or if you lose a certain amount of money, you will choose to stop, not to all in your bet. It is good to not being greed in gambling.

Their question was not what do you think is the worst mistake in gambling, but what is your worst mistake?

Now, I am assuming you got greedy before and you are right that people who get greedy usually end up losing, but don't forget being greedy gambling implies you are already up, and it is worse to get desperate because not only are you down but you are trying to come back, and of course the odds are always against you. At least if you get greedy you might only lose some of what you gained and still walk away with a net profit.
225  Other / Off-topic / Re: If bitcoin goes to zero on: December 25, 2017, 11:58:30 PM
As at the time I read your post, Bitcoin's exchange rate has increased after a time when the exchange rate has fallen sharply. But I think if Bitcoin goes to zero then there will be other currencies replacing Bitcoin. Except for Bitcoin, there are other potential Altcoin partners such as Ethereum, Litecoin, which promise to replace Bitcoin if Bitcoin goes to zero. So invest in Altcoin instead of Bitcoin because 2018 will be Altcoin's boom year.

Your logic is flawed. Bitcoin will never go to zero, because by nature is is infenitiely divisible.

I think at this poitn we could agree someone will always be willing to buy Bitcoin even if it falls out of mainstream use. In such a case, it would even be worth less than 1 Satoshi each, but people would still want it.
226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to play gambling in a smart way? on: December 25, 2017, 11:56:00 PM
You know, playing smart at gambling has definitely no hard and fast rule. It is so highly subjective that it is entirely up to you on how you handle your money affairs. To put it in a simpler sense, when you know you are earning, you can go along; but when you know you are already losing more than you thought you are earning, then it is time to step back a little. Always little by little may it be forward or backward. This may sound really motherly but it sure will help you go a long way in gambling.

Well, not everyone has the temperament or the patience to watch his money go away and  so many after loosing a couple of times try to recoup what they have lost and that is often the bait that gets them hooked  and plunged into addiction most of the time.

In gambling that is based on pure luck, chasing your previous loses is really not a good idea. Also, a gambler that is too emotional will most likely go to rage betting and losing all of his/her bankroll in no time versus gambler who just stick to strategies whatever the outcome would be.

Yeah you are on the money about emotions being the downfall of gamblers. I have seen too manye xamples of emotions getting in the way of people's judgement and they lose all concept of what it means to play smart. They usually end up losing everything.
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Damn fees! on: December 25, 2017, 11:47:13 PM
OK, I reran my transaction by buying Ethereum and it confirmed essentially instantly.
BTC confirmed after over 2 hours.

So the transaction model is if your trading partner takes an altcoin that your exchange supports is to convert to the altcoin and run the transaction.

BTC is a long term store of value,  I am happy to put my liquid cash there even for a few weeks and take it out when I need it.

May I ask how did you Bitcoin transaction clear after just 2 hours?

The current fees state to get your tx confirmed in under 2 hours takes a very large percentage of fees.

Are you really willing to lose such a percentage of your Bitcoin just to confirm your transaction that fast?
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD on: December 25, 2017, 11:41:35 PM
I wouldn't believe if bitcoin will die, it is a statement that is painful for all users. I'm sure this is just the thing that has become commonplace for him if there is bitcoin bitcoin will is weak as hell but after dropping it will a startling thing happened to us all that indicated a value priced bitcoin truly extraordinary as few days that could reach $20 k

The problem is currently that the fees to send Bitcoin are simply way too high. I don't understand what the developers are thinking. They  should be trying to lower fees, but it seems they want to increase them. It makes zero sense. I really don't get it, but anyways if BTC dies then we will just move to another coin. Tongue
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Real Casino or Digital Casino. Whats is your Poison? on: December 25, 2017, 11:38:18 PM
I prefer real casinos. I don't consider them poison either, because I gamble responsibly. I use mathematics to avoid losing unecessarily. I also keep control of my bet sizing and keep a cool head. The last thing you ever want to do is "chase your losses" because that is what leads to addiction.
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TOP 100 RICHEST BITCOIN WALLET ADDRESSES on: December 25, 2017, 11:37:16 PM
Most of the top addresses are from exchanges. At least that is what I have noticed. And the most important thing to remember about this list is that it doesn't actually contain the real numbers of the largest BTC accounts because we don't know all of the public keys associated because most of them (Satoshis for example) have never yet been used on the Blockchain and were generated offline.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you like slot games ? on: December 25, 2017, 11:28:11 PM
I don't usually play slots because there are other games which have better odds like Blackjack, poker, craps, etc. However, it is fun every now and again.

Funny story... I was in the casino once and saw a lady rubbing the screen for "good luck" before each spin.

Sorry, but rubbing the screen doesn't give you better luck. Cheesy
232  Economy / Gambling / Re: Grand Opening ★★★ CryptoPlayer.net ★★★ 🎁 100% Bonus 🎁 on: December 23, 2017, 03:02:29 AM
Something is off here, I just rolled with the faucet and got 0 satoshi.  Is that correct that that can happen sometimes?

I also tried the faucet and it gave me 1 Satoshi.

There are few tickets in the lottery and as of now it seems it is easy to win.

Anyway the website looks great and it is nice that you accepts bitcoin and altcoins.

This is just really cheap and bad business to only give 1 Satoshi with their faucet.

I think the minimum should be 10 Satoshis because they still aren't even worth a cent each and most players will not end up withdrawing anyways therefore the risk is minimal.
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Thoughts on what's going on. ( Price related) on: December 22, 2017, 02:57:22 PM
The price has risen so high in such a short timespan it is guaranteed to crash at some point. This growth simply isn't sustainable. You can't increase something in price by 20x in 1 year and expect it to stay that way forever. At some pint we are going to see a very, very big price correction the likes of which has never been seen before in crypto. Thousands of people are going to lose thousands of dollars - or millions. Some people may commit suicide. This happened in 2013/2014 crashes and there is no reason to think it won't happen again. All the signs point to a massive dump coming very soon, and we all should prepare for it to the best of our abilities before hand.
234  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people says gold is better? on: December 22, 2017, 02:50:49 PM
People, generally older folks who don't understand technology think gold is a better investment. You can't really blame them since gold still is and always will be a store of value until Humans are no longer here on Earth. It is rare, precious and has other uses. It has been used as money since the dawn of recorded history. This won't change. However, if older people knew how Blockchain and Bitcoin works, they would be all for it. It's just hard to teach an old dog new tricks, as they say. Tongue
235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: December 19, 2017, 11:30:24 PM
Philadelphia 76ers vs Sacramento Kings => over 208.5 @1.94

Milwaukee Bucks vs Cleveland Cavaliers => Cavs -1.5 @1.9
This handicap for cavs is really tempting though Bucks is really improving and the match up between lebron and giannis would be nice to watch out,
the king vs the young generation super star,  I love seeing both of them show power and dedication let see who will grab this game.
As long as they are not playing at home, I guess I would put my money on the cavaliers, in their previous games, we have seen how the cavaliers can dominate the Bucks, they are just overrated because of one guy but Lebron is always here to prove that he is still the king.
I am not gonna think twice, I'll take the Cavs -1.5 or ever higher than that to have better payout.

I checked the stats the other day and it looks like the Celtics are an actual threat to Cleveland this year. People have been saying this would be the case, but not for a few years. I am actually shocked at how good they are.
236  Economy / Economics / Re: EU Crackdown On Bitcoin on: December 18, 2017, 11:14:42 PM
I just read a post about some guy that had his entire bankroll confiscated by the European Commission of $700,000. They just took it without any warning or consent. Now, that guy would be worth millions if this didnt happen.

Why do governments think they will control Bitcoin? BTC is a decentralized system immune to governments. Are they blind and can't see this or are they simply ignorant to accept the truth?
237  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin futures on: December 18, 2017, 11:11:52 PM
Bitcoin futures is going to likely lead to the price falling. I have seen this happen to many markets before including recently Bitcoin Gold where the future market tanked just before the coin came out. So I think BTC is going to crash soon after the future market gets going.
238  Economy / Economics / Re: If Winklevoss twin exchange all their BTC... on: December 18, 2017, 11:08:29 PM
How much Bitcoin do the Winklevosses own? I think they probably own a lot... like over 100,000 Bitcoins, and yeah if they were to sell them off using their platform the whole industry would see a large dip. 100,000 BTC (only guessing, could be more or less) is still a whole lot. I think they have a lot of power in this space and might even become richer than Zuckerberg someday if Bitcoin goes above $5,000,000 each. Cheesy
239  Economy / Economics / Re: Money printing exploded when BTC was released on: December 18, 2017, 11:02:34 PM
I take this as a sign that Bitcoin truly will take over the global money supply.

Things don't happen randomly, for no reason. Everything happens for a reason.

This money being printed is a sure sign that BTC has value and based on the price rising for the past year more than 10x, I'm also sure people agree with me. Just wait 5-10 more years and BTC will be $1,000,000+. Smiley
240  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: December 18, 2017, 11:01:10 PM
There are plenty of Billionaires coming forward to mention their investments in Bitcoin. I can think of many off the top of my head alone that I've heard to comment about investing in Bitcoin.

Why wouldn't they? Billionaires have so much money that it doesn't cost much for them to invest into Bitcoin right now. IT is still cheap for them because $20,000 is nothing to a billionaire.
