I think you're talking about Virie, which is about everything you just described. When you use Virie, you don’t need to disclose your identity or the purpose of the payments; you can transfer any sum without providing anyone with any data, or original or copied documents; since the system cannot freeze an account, nobody can ask for documents (such as ID) to release the funds. There's more information on their website https://virternity.com/virie, though it may not be enough for some people because crowdfunding is still going. Isn't it?

What's next? What's next is China might start an all out war with the United States if Trump didn't comply. Remember they hired recently graduated high school students to make AI weapons for them, including harmful chemicals they can release into the atmosphere that will be fatal to their enemies. It's not just US either. China is also invading the Philippines little by little. In a few years time the Philippines will become a state of China. It's already happening now.

Expect a move in the next day or two, either down to $3200-$3300 or bouncing back to $4000-$4200. Probably the former because there's still far too much optimism around, for that reason I'm not convinced we've reached a bottom.
Hopefully it bounce back up, though you're probably right. It might still go down to $3200. I just hope it won't go lower than $3000. We are almost at the end of 2018, why can't we have a happy holidays by giving us higher bitcoin price? Even a small bump in the price would be better than see it go down more and more.

I doubt the government will agree backing up something like blockchain, which is prominent for its anonymity. For the government to back it up, they need to have access with it. Do you think they will agree with blockchain's current terms? I don't think so. That said, blockchain and AI does have a potential to improve a particular country's economy. But just how vastly, we can never tell until we get there.

Millennials aren't buying a house of their own because it's way more expensive than renting. Plus with the amount of salary they are getting, and their lifestyle, plus the debts they need to pay, did you really think they can afford a house? Also, I disagree that technology makes people work for longer hours. If any, automation makes our work faster.

I do. Younger generations are more open to anything virtually so I won't be surprised if this generation paves the way for mass adoption of cryptocurrency. Not just bitcoin, but altcoins as well, because not everyone would be able to afford buying a single bitcoin. Especially if a celebrity suddenly starts endorsing bitcoin and cryptocurrency? You can expect a lot of young people joining the crypto world.

What I'm most wondering about is that people keep saying the price will rise by the end of the year. It's almost the end of November now yet the price of bitcoin continues to fall down. Should we just get used to this kind of price range and hope that next year will be better?

Unlike the cognitive abilities of a human being with emotion being a factor in our decision making, AI would not have that same decision making factor therefore the AI would act logically in any situation regardless of remorse, but I hope the coding would make it not resort to violence and lethality.
That description reminds me of a psychopath, who feel no such remorse when they did something wrong. Assuming we are talking of an AI that can think on its own, it makes me think if AI will be like that. They are intelligent, even more intelligent than the smartest human, but they are incapable of empathy.

It's not about fixing what has already been destroyed and what will be destroyed regardless at this point, but about minimizing the losses.
We should do whatever is in our best ability to slow down global warming and limit it's impact on the ecosystem.
Why minimize the effects when we can prevent it? Yes at this point in our lives it will be very hard for people to adjust to what we were used to but unless we change our habits that hurt the environment, adjust our lifestyle then we might as well just pack our emergency bags and prepare for the worst.

Unfriended: Dark Web featured bitcoin heavily in that movie. It was used in a not so good way but it was still used somehow. You might wanna add it on you list too. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4761916/About the movie: A teen comes into possession of a new laptop and soon discovers that the previous owner is not only watching him, but will also do anything to get it back.

There's no doubt bitcoin can reach up to $20,000 but 2019 may not be it, given the current situation it's in. It's almost the end of the year, yet bitcoin's price still plays around $6k. It will take some miracle before it jumps immediately to $20k next year. But maybe it will rise gradually, maybe even $10k but $20k? We can all just hope.

Probably they are referring about the 6K usd market price stabilization though generally bitcoin will not become stabilized due to its current system that is decentralized. It may be better if we will not consider bitcoin market price stabilization. I agree with you OP. We should stop calling bitcoin stable in its market price.
This is it. It will take years before bitcoin becomes even remotely stable but because the market price has been sitting around the same price these days, people say it is stable. Besides, if it's already stable, then how come nothing changes in the market? People say stability will make companies want to adopt bitcoin but has it happened? No. Absolutely not yet.

No it's not. It's gonna take a long time and a worst dip than this to take bitcoin down. If you look back into bitcoin's history, you'd realize that it has experienced a way lower drop than this. So relax. Hold on to your coins, bitcoin is here to stay.
|
|
|
Of course! Bitcoin has been through worse dip than this before so of course, it will survived. As long as someone is mining it and there is still a demand for bitcoin, it will always survived, even if it means the price go as low as $1USD. Relax man. Bitcoin is fine.

So if we focus on the thread title "lets kick out poverty using bitcoin" i would Love to know how exactly this is going to happen because i cant see it?
Those with lots and lots of FIAT can potentially have lots and lots of crypto. How are those with very limited resources ever going to aquire a notable amount of bitcoin?
This. Plus, even without using bitcoin to "kick out poverty", those who have lots and lots of fiat could have done something about it. Why don't they help the poor? And you're right. If you're barely scraping by every single day, how exactly are you going to be able to afford a single bitcoin? Unless some rich-ass person would donate a coin to you, it's impossible that this will ever happen.

I think fiat currencies are loosing value all the time regardless of bitcoin... the price of bitcoin doesn't have to change for it to increase in value against fiat
Well probably it has a point. But then, the value of the currency depemds of what currency it is. As we can see the USD has a stable economy but then there are analyst who says that dollar is going down. But then we can conclude that today bitcoin do not have an effect. Still, it might not be enough for fiat to continue losing its value. Currencies go down and up all the time, it doesn't mean that it will lose its value just like that just because of bitcoin. Especially not USD. It's way too big a currency to lose its value over a virtual currency just like that. Plus, there are still more people using their native currencies. Even us, bitcoin users, we still use it today because it's what allow us to pay for goods and services. Doesn't mean though that bitcoin have lesser value over fiat.

Sorry but how can you make these claims about bitcoin ending when you said it yourself that you don't own any bitcoin? Reading and learning about it is one thing, but to be able to really understand the market you have to have experience having your own coins. Seems to me that this is just a way to spread fear and paranoia among the users. Please stop.

Slow and steady. We can't say for sure when the price of bitcoin will start rising rapidly again, bit if predictions are correct then we shall expect a rise by the end of the year. Hopefully, it will start improving the market. Quick growth would be harder to recover from if the price drops down just a day later.

Well, this is crazy idea. But sometimes crazy ideas like this have great impact on society. I wish him luck with this project, also I hope that he will gather experts around this project which are competent enough to put this idea into reality.
Agreed. Otherwise he will just be wasting his hard-earned cryptos for nothing. It's a great plan, but without professionals to guide him, he might as well be giving out his coins to people and he will be left with nothing.

What do I want to see for bitcoin? I want to see business establishments start accepting bitcoin as alternative payment options, and maybe for companies to pay their employees with bitcoin. If companies do this, more people will be inspired to use not just bitcoin but other coins as well, regardless of the price.
