Ist es denn überhaupt möglich, Börsen so abzusichern, dass ein Hacker-Angriff abgewehrt werden kann? Natürlich. Der beste Schutz sind trotz Social-Engineering immer Menschen, die die BTC von Hand freigeben. Die meisten Aktionen sind immer noch Börsenhandel. Die Auszahlungen (Clearing) sind dagegen verschwindend gering. Wer massenweise Geld einnimmt sollte nicht zu geizig sein, um die Auszahlungen von Menschen freigeben zu lassen. Das wäre wohl eine ziemlich einfache Lösung des Problems. |

It probably was an inside job to some extent. Some menial but smart guy was not really paid enough and said screw it, it worth the risk and gave himself a $5 Mill pay day.
It looks like they are going to have to multi sig everything.
Another thing I do when sending is to send a very small test amount to an address first just to see if it gets there. Once I see that hit, then I am pretty sure everything is ok and send the larger amount. Sure there is an overhead but hey you pay to minimize risk.

Edit: Der Vergleich mit Mt Gox ist wohl aus aktueller Sicht etwas verfrüht.^^ Dort wurden über 200,000 BTCs gestohlen (?). BitStamp verlor ca. 19,000 durch einen 'Fehler' im "hot wallet"
Der Vergleich muss aber wohl sein...
Nach aktueller Nachrichtenlage hat Mark Karpeles maximal 7000 BTC durch Angriffe von aussen verloren. Hat Bitstamp genug Geld eingenommen um einen Verlust von 19k BTC mal so eben selbst zu tragen, dann haben sie deutlich zu wenig Geld in die Absicherung gesteckt. Haben sie das Geld nicht, fragt sich mit wessen Geld sie nun die Flucht nach vorne antreten. Nach der MtGox Lernphase werte ich so eine Meldung inzwischen als Warnsignal. Ist es denn überhaupt möglich, Börsen so abzusichern, dass ein Hacker-Angriff abgewehrt werden kann? Wenn man sogar das komplette Internet in Nordkorea lahmlegen kann, zweifel ich daran... Vielleicht muss man hier einfach umdenken. |

Der CEO von Bitstamp, Nejc Kodric, hat in einer Erklärung bestätigt, dass “weniger als 19.000 BTC” durch ein kompromittiertes Bitstamp Betriebswallet gestohlen wurden. Bemerkenswert ist, dass Kodric nicht das Wort “Hack” verwendet hat und den Nutzern in seiner Erklärung versichert, dass ihre persönlichen Daten sicher sind. i think it's because of 2 reasons.. 1. bitcoin price tanking or 2. ppl who burned their noble for noxt are dumping. it's just normal I think. After burning Rofo will work on the coin and people see which value it has and price goes up. |

Quite concerned about the decline in the NOXT price. I hope it goes back up. I was looking forward to getting about 10,000 USD or more. It seems it took a steep decline today. Noxt will never be successful with people like them The ico ended yesterday at 0.00042 btc and now it is around 0.00046. We had few panic buys (up to 0.0006) and we had few panic sells (down to 0.00042). what decline are you talking about? This is pure trolling. Its just normal that price "declines" again a bit. Number of NOXT rises while burning. and IMO it makes sense if you want to make a quick buck. You get a 17 Sat rate for your Nobles. So you buy at a price lower than 17 Sat, trade into NOXT and sell for BTC. You get a good profit. |
