It sounds like an ethernet problem or a bad controller. Check your modem or ethernet box.

Thanks. My modem reports the A9 once I power it up but shows it as "offline device with unknown IP".
I have another A9 that is working fine on the same switch. I swapped the ports to eliminate switch problems, swapped the eth cables, so it must be the miner. When I boot the red light flashes twice on the control board then goes out. No lights light up on the control board after that. The lights on my switch where the A9 is plugged into do not light up either. Glowing LED's are working as normal on hash boards and control board but no lights on the front of the control board after the first red flash. It's been running for months, just quit today.

Hi
When Device is running , Hold the Reset button for 5 ~ 10 seconds. Then the miner would be Factory reset and reboot.
If this method wouldn't make any changes, you must flash a fresh firmware.

Thanks just tried that but no luck. How can I flash a firmware if it won't connect via Ethernet? The LED's on the Ethernet port never light up.

Hi Guys,

I've had my A9 for a few months and today it stopped working. I have rebooted and it starts up but the network light never comes on, I can't connect to it using my computer.
I've ruled out network cables, switch, etc so the problem is with the miner. I also notice when I reboot the fans come on but never go to 100% like they would normally do when rebooting.
All the green lights on the hash boards and control boards are normal. The only thing is the network light never comes on. Any ideas on anything I can try?

Thanks so much

If market bolsters I'll be turning on s7's for sha256 as revenues support it. Same goes for these so their are hardly trash worthy ever and with decent coins will have use in the future. Most likely these asic friendly coins will have some value with dedicated hardware like this. Someone somewhere will leave these running if there is some return, or they truly support the coin.

Buying now is gamble, only do it if you have capital to risk as profits will be shrinking. Buying now could also be speculation for a market surge and you'll have equipment running an able to capitalize on those returns early. Also a gamble.

Other options would be to buy to solo mine and gamble that way. Or if you already bought, solo mine if you can soak the power cost

There are reasons to buy and not buy. Mostly it's a risky endeavor at prices right now with market low and unit cost still really high.

He nailed it. This is a GAMBLE. You could go on Ebay and buy some miners that currently loose money daily. If the market surges then they will become profitable again an at that point they will no longer be for sale at cheap prices. It's just a glorified casino where the house doesn't have set rules to win 51% of the time. So that's it really. I have two A9's running on Nicehash, some days its 90 bucks, some days is 60, it market dependent. I have 4 Mini's running on Zcash, same type of numbers. If market goes up, make more, market goes down make less. So no one can tell anyone for certain if it's a wise investment. IMO, and we know what opinions smell like, for the Equihash miners I'd say take the money and invest in Stellar Lumen, or Bitcoin when the daily RSI bottoms below 30 which is coming over the next few days I feel. But I hope I'm wrong because I have these miners an hope they will continue to be profitable for a long time. It's up in the air and NO ONE can give anyone who ask for advice a correct answer. That's the truth.

Back when I played poker every weekend sometimes I lost with a straight flush, no wild cards, then sometimes I won with a pair of nines because I bluffed well. There is no bluffing is this but it's still gambling at the root. However I do believe in block-chain. I don't think my lil girl will be willing to wait for several days to xfer money when she is a adult 15 years from now. Things must progress, evolve, and become better.  The old institutions need updating and block-chain is the future, not forever future, but immediate future. Again that's opinion and I could be totally wrong.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: September 06, 2018, 05:25:21 PM
Has anyone tested the OC ability with batch 2 minis after flashing with batch 1 firmware using the frequency dropdown rather than browser trick? I'm not entirely convinced the hardware is reason these don't seem to OC as well.

I got 4 mini's in Tuesday 9/4. All of them had the newer firmware where only 'balanced' was shown. I downloaded the firmware from bitmain (only one available) an applied to one miner. Once all seemed well I applied to the other three.  I set them all to 650 freq with auto fan. Temps are in the high 60's for the hash boards. Averaging 14.5 hash per miner. All four have been running now for over 48 hours with no problems. I'm mining ZEC on Flypool.

hi everybody

I decide to buy 1 unit of ASIC A9 Zmaster these days. you can find below our local situation:

hardware cost: $6500
electricity cost: 0.08 $/kWh
Delivery Time: 15 Days after placing order

please consider that I don't have huge farm, just want to use this device personally in my house with the mentioned information.

I talked today with a person that has an ASIC importer company. he told me that you will not reach any profit of any available ASICS. I'm confused at this moment. all of my calculation seems that it would be profitable. in the other hand, I cannot deny those speeches. would you please tell what will be true about this matter?

referring to my information, if I buy 1 unit of this ASIC, would it profitable or not?

many thanks in advance for your comments.

I wouldn't buy it brother.

Has anyone seen this problem ?

Have just set up Awesome Miner, and its connected fine to my two A9's. I've enabled privileged access but Awesome Miner is reporting incorrect hashrates for both miners.

The miners are reporting 50ksols/s+ each, and Nicehash is also reporting that hashrate, and the returns also support that hashrate, but Awesome miner is reporting only between 5 and 10Ksol/s which is widely inaccurate.

Has anyone else seen this. Awesome Miner vesion is 5.3.3 on Windows 10.

Thanks

Yep, mine are the same... I'm still using the original firmware on the A9, don't know if thats the issue but Am reports me making way way less than what is accurate for the A9. AM reports accurate results for me GPU rig.. I'm in the same boat, just got to ignore the AM reports for the A9.

Can anyone recommend a good Zclassic pool for the A9? Suprnova is only like 75% efficiency for me. Need something better.

Thanks!

Hi "I set up profit switching for AM"  can you give steps please

I started by following this guide to the letter:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4547429.0

Then I went here and learned how to add more than just three pools.
http://www.awesomeminer.com/help.aspx

So now I got all the Equihash pools switching on profit.
I set the payout high because I don't have wallets for a couple of these coins Tongue

So far I'm blown away. I also set up nicehash/equihash as one of the pools and it's switching to them at times.

I'm very new to mining as I'm sure most of you can tell but so far AM is the best thing I've come across, just incredible.

Thanks everyone for answering my questions. Appreciate it!

What do you mean high? I would pay out a reasonable amount where (if) any fee taken is negligible. You want altcoin to capitalize on profits as soon as there are some. Right now is hold or push to BTC with market down.

Oh I just meant I didn't have a wallet for Komodo, Hush, BCI, so I set the payout on Supernova very high since I haven't had the time to get the wallet set up, that's all. I get those set up tomorrow and set the payouts to a reasonable rate. Just rushing things tonight learning as much as I can about AM.
Thanks, good advice about the market.

Thanks sweeperAA and Xpulse, I got it working. I set up profit switching for AM and it has switched once already. Amazing software!

A question for anyone using AM.

The hash rates reported by AM are way way off. Is this because I still have the original A9 firmware? Not a big deal since my hash rate is fine at the pools but if updating the A9's firmware would help AM's reporting I'll do it.

Loving AM!

Thanks

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: August 02, 2018, 11:49:26 PM
I think this speaks for itself.

I've switched both my miners away from Nicehash to MPH, and I'm getting a steady 50KSol/s+ from each miner, backed up on the dashboard at MPH. Less than 1% rejected shares and no HW errors...and no dropped connections.

So it would seem, MPH is far more reliable than Nicehash, and consequently a higher return rate - would that be the feeling from other people on here ?

NOT SURE ABOUT THAT, BECAUSE ACCORDING MY EXPERIENCE NICEHASH IS HIGHER RETURN IN BTC. i COMPARED 2 DAYS MINING. IN EUROPEAN SERVERS AT LEAST.

How much per hour on Nice Hash?

I'm about $3.40 a hour on nicehash. The thing for me is it's very consistent with payouts while as of the last few days WhatToMine shows the coins moving up/down in profit very quickly, so without switching coins I don't see how I can beat nicehash. I hope I can because I'd rather be mining coin! I know I can just buy them but it's not nearly as much fun... Anyone care to give easy instructions to enable the A9 to be controlled by AM? I found this post but can't imagine it could be this easy?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4547429.0

I got putty and know how to ssh in, use vim, etc.. Just got no clue at that point.

It's in this thread at this response: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4432819.msg43100055#msg43100055

username and password is earlier in this thread.

Thank you!

To be 100% certain before I do it, here are the steps??

login via putty

remount file system to read write:
"mount / -o rw,remount"

edit cgminer.service with vim
change this:
"ExecStart=/bin/cgminer -c /etc/cgminer.conf --api-listen --api-network --syslog --text only"

to this:

"ExecStart=/bin/cgminer -c /etc/cgminer.conf --api-listen --api-network --api-allow W:0/0 --syslog --text only"

Save/exit/reboot

Then AM will have privileged access?

Thanks in advance!

Hi guys...

MY MPH test concluded and it was less than I hopped for. After 24 hours I averaged $2.81 a hour. Nicehash beats this by about 60 cents per hour for me. Also just mining ZEC on Flypool beat this considerably as well. I'm now back on nicehash deciding what to try next. I like the idea of switching for profit so I bought AM but don't have a clue how to use it yet, or unlock the A9 to give AM privileged access. I did ssh into my A9 and change the fan speeds so hopefully I can figure this out before long.

24 hour MPH test:
2.347406 ZEN - $57.97
0.66755112 ZCL  - $9.69

Total $67.66
$2.81 a hour:(

I can't recommend MPH profit switching for the A9 over other options. Mining one coin directly might be fine, I have not tried that on MPH. Profit switching using GPU's or other Asics might be fine, I did not try that. Not bashing MPH but for the A9 there are better options than the Equihash profit switching.

Observing the switching on MPH it seemed to switch too late. Once one coin over took the other MPH would stay on the less profitable coin for a while, sometimes a long while. I guess until the block was found. Many times by the time it switched to the other coin it was on the way down. That's just my observations and could be incorrect.

Hempkat I also PM'd you about the Alibaba guy.

Thanks

Not for me, I average 3.39 per hour on nicehash. My profit jumps from 70 to 100ish with each refresh... but projected daily stays consistent at  about 81 or 2400ish a month, after about a hour on NH. I've never ran it more than 24 hours so can't speak past that point. I do run a small 3 GPU rig at the same time. Can't imagine that would make a difference but I have done that each time I've switched to nicehash because I put my GPU rig wherever the A9 is. The A9 never stays connected more than 10 or so mins to nicehash but that doesn't seem to affect the payout to much. Wish I had a solution for you. I do always have the NH mining app open for my GPU rig, seems absurd but if you have a GPU give that a shot...

Thanks, may have to give nanopool a go after this test.

For MPH I'm using:
stratum+tcp://us-east.equihash-hub.miningpoolhub.com:17023

For nicehash I use:
stratum+tcp://equihash.usa.nicehash.com:3357

When using nicehash my admin hash jumps around a lot and the projected earnings also jump around a lot, but in the end it's about 80 a day right now. I'm not doing anything special, just connect and go. I do have a small 3 gpu rig that I run at the same time, just so I can see the earnings in the windows nicehash miner.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: August 01, 2018, 09:20:22 PM
Changed my mind. Mining zcl on supernova seemed fine for the short time I did it. But I decided to set up mining pool hub to auto switch between ZEC/ZCL/ZEN based on profit. I'm starting the test at 2pm and unless it looks awful I'll let it run for 24 hours. I'm not using the exchange they offer, just payout to three different wallets. We will see...

I am looking forward to hearing your results.

I have never mined on mining pool hub before.

I am currently only on nanopool which is OK.

I was mining on Miningpoolhub, hash rate is more stable or monitoring is different.... Smiley I mined ZCL and ZEN. Problem is unpredictable variation in finding of block vary from 10% to 280% in time, so it depends how was the day.. I checked statistics  , for me is more profitable is Nicehash. I mine 0.01032-0.01025 BTC/24H on nice hash witch was more than convert cash back from mining pool hub.
Also how to set up the switch to most profitable coin on pull hub? which port to use on miner? It was not working for me.
What's the average revenue on Nanopool in BTC/day?

Currently on NanoPool, my 5 A9s mine 0.056938 BTC per day.

But this changes constantly depending on a few factors in their predictor tool.

Thanks for the report on MPH and your profits. The auto switching on MPH is working well, I have balances for all three coins. Too early to tell about profits but it looks ok so far. I'll give accurate results after 2pm CST tomorrow. I had been mining on Flypool for several days with one A9. I had a very consistent average of .41 ZEC a day. I have never tried nanopool. Nicehash gives me about $80 USD a day as of yesterday. Ever since ZEC difficulty started jumping up various hours during the day I'd switch over to Nicehash, then back to Flypool once the difficulty dropped. I hope that MPH will stop me from having to switch things around since it is picking between zec/zcl/zen for me. If not I may just put it on Nicehash and let it run.
