Look up MGEX, which is a grain futures exchange. Now look at their logo. Look familiar?
I thought this was so funny that I registered just to post it.
I actually laughed. Nice find.

ok scheduled maintenance is cool - some of the pools were being flaky lately and if Dwolla was down I was going to think something was going on They really should post a status page for dwolla.com instead of just letting it error out Takes too long to move DNS records for that case. They should have at least sent out an email about the update.

Not sure where at all to find info about this: 1.) What is the current hashrate around? 2.) Is there a block-explorer of some sort? 3.) What is the recommended amount of hashing power to solo? Thanks 1) I'd estimate (taking generation, shares and number of miners at my pool) it being around 30-50Gh/s. This is a very generalized guess, so please take it lightly. 2) Not at the moment. Wouldn't be hard to get one setup, any PCCoin client can do it. 3) I'd say about 2-3Gh/s will give you a decent amount of coins over X amount of time.

Glad to see there are no Major issues as of now. I've just gotten back home, and am just not starting to work on the distribution of block payments by shares. ETA ~ 1-2hours. [Edit]: Looks like the high server loads are causing some website issues. It looks like the shares are still being parsed normally. I'll be looking into this once I finish the payout script. Which looks like its going to take some more time than expected. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted. [Edit2]: Finally got shares from the OLD database distributed into an array. I'm going to compare them to the blocks that are current verified, and start sending out coins. =D [Edit3]: Wow...that's like the longest I've worked on the script non-stop (well, aside from the occasion post on the forums...). Here in the next ~30-40 minutes, I'll start distribution of the blocks that have their confirmed generation. 7 foreach loops, 6 if statements, 1 while loop. [Edit~3.1] (Forgot to set the transaction list to >50) Block[1410]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(1401.9322871046); Block[1410]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(2.2777128953771); Block[1413]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(1148.5931543624); Block[1413]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(9.4146979865772); Block[1413]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(244.78214765101); Block[1434]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(251.14926350245); Block[1434]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(569.65219312602); Block[1434]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(1.7123813420622); Block[1434]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(21.119369885434); Block[1434]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(551.38679214403); Block[1442]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(947.9218539823); Block[1442]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(117.64332300885); Block[1442]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(258.07619026549); Block[1442]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(68.368632743363); Block[1454]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(937.34954088325); Block[1454]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(87.971316134674); Block[1454]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(109.20577175339); Block[1454]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(251.17327503279); Block[1454]: Worker(**hidden for security**), Payout(1.8200961958898);

Does it make sense that I've been mining on the pool for 2 hours and I have 9 shares? I am using CGminer and it's telling me over and over "new block detected before longpoll"
How many invalid shares does it show? Awesome to see a pool of this, and surprised to see that PPCoin network has almost 1/2 a terahash! (Or am I reading that wrong...?)
Yeah, the main graph is off by a LOT. I would recommend making assumptions based on average shares per block (which seems to be between ~8-12k). Great work, I've been mining on the pool for an hour or so and everything seems to be working fine. Seems like something new has been added every time I visit.
Thanks. I'll be working on the PPC distribution script once I get home. Thank you for working on this and setting it up so quickly with the launch of PPCoins. I have been mining on ur pool all or yesterday and I will be making a donation to you once the blocks have confirmed and the coins distributed. Keep up the excellent work my friend Thanks

http://46.166.138.142/This is a Mining Pool for PPC ( http://ppcoin.org/ ). Expected Changes?- Fix expected pay-out rate. - Fix shares per block (now that I've figured out how to check the block information that has been found). FAQ-Q-: Why are we not getting paid for our hard work? -A-: Turns out, the blocks have to hit a minimum of 520 confirmations before the PPC gets sent to the balance. I'm not sure what else to say. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here. Please don't PM me, you're questions are most likely to be answered more quickly here than by waiting ~6-12 hours on a reply from me. [NB]: I'm moving the site to Beta stage as theoretically everything will work without anything breaking it (meaning no matter what happens, it is safe to mine without fear of loosing your work). [Changes]-8/23/2012- Added server uptime. Fixed site-wide shares submitted since our last block was found; Added "your" shares since last block if you're logged in, as well as the total # of blocks the pool has found so far.

How do I determine the block number from the listtransactions?
If ppcoin has 'getblock' then you can "getblock" on the hash of the block and that gives the block height. Also, how do I determine the PPC per block if it changes so dynamically?
A way to do it is to determine the reward for the block associated with the work you've given a user and compute the PPS specific to the value of that block for the shares they return. That's if you're paying PPS s shares are submitted. If you're paying after a block is found you can use "getblock" to find the value and compute the PPS from that. Thank you. I ran into another problem, I was hoping would be fixed by the time I got home. root@mein:~# ./ppcoind listtransactions [ { "account" : "", "category" : "immature", "amount" : 1332.23000000, "confirmations" : 152, "blockhash" : "00000000000835d38da340a876046e3cad00f034649f477e0f334b98a8903785", "blockindex" : 0, "txid" : "2d0e1f81c19d8050dbb5d6db54319e14de6c510379f8e32fce9caad3daac7a30", "time" : 1345625404 },
So, how many confirmations does it take for it to "mature"? root@mein:~# ./ppcoind getinfo { "version" : "v0.1.0ppc-beta", "protocolversion" : 60001, "walletversion" : 60000, "balance" : 0.00000000, "newmint" : 47428.28000000, "stake" : 0.00000000, "blocks" : 1795, "connections" : 25, "proxy" : "", "ip" : "46.166.138.142", "difficulty" : 3510.57591109, "testnet" : false, "keypoololdest" : 1345415511, "keypoolsize" : 101, "paytxfee" : 0.01000000, "errors" : "" }
I still show a 0 balance. Are the "newmint" coins movable? (I don't think I've even tested that yet...)

http://46.166.138.142/stats.phpStill working on the site. I have no intention of scamming. That's why I've kept backups of all the shares that people have mined throughout all of the database resets. [Edit]: I also just noticed the estimated PPC (at the top of the site) is based on a block being worth 50. That will be fixed as soon as I get the block# in listtransactions fixed so I can accurately determine the PPC per share.
