I am not very impressed with the Decred privacy roadmap. However Decred is clearly the most interesting blockchain when it comes to decentralized governance. DASH is nowhere close to DCR in this area.

Today Dash is being treated like the shitcoin that it is. But this is only an extension of a very long trend for Dash collapsing vs Monero. DASH/XMR ratio is now at 1.1. The direction remains clear. Another metric I find interesting is the relative activity of r/dashpay compared to r/dashuncensored. Heavy handed moderation of the former subreddit is gradually causing those asking critical questions to the later.

You gotta give it credit though, its a slow, albeit inevitable death. Its funny to see the "news" coming from a failing centralized (high level of "masternode" control from instamine beneficiaries) blockchain whose only innovation is cutting/pasting features from Bitcoin (PrivateSend from CoinJoin, Chainlocks from Checkpoints etc, etc) and rebranding them https://www.coindesk.com/despite-ceo-claims-dash-isnt-really-the-most-used-crypto-in-venezuelaThe inevitable death is nearing. Hopefully sooner rather than later. current DASH/XMR ratio is 1.16 and falling

At first I think masternode redemption's may be slow (we are still in the denial phase where many cult members still think that DASH tech is innovative and valuable). That means there may still be plenty of time to get out without significant losses.
However the last people to sell their masternodes could get badly hurt. Hopefully those parties have not put a large percentage of their assets into DASH

There is no doubt that Aeon has better privacy technology than Dashpay.
However I think it will take some time (probably over a year) for the AEON and DASH market caps to reach parity for three reasons:
1. Aeon is not very well known yet
2. Aeon still has a low network hashrate and therefore is potentially susceptible to a 51% attack
3. While HYIPs generally will ultimately crash and burn, they can in some cases last a very long time.

Yeah looks like smooth hit it big with Steem. Congrats Smooth!
Good for him. It is nice to see intelligence and hard work being rewarded

Conclusion
The GroundRod Retarget PID was tuned for quick retargetting in case of high fluctuation of difficulty, but with the necessity to have at least ca one hundred blocks at each hashrate levels. Here the pattern of mining is more like mine 25 easy, let others mine one hard, mine 25 easy, let others mine one hard. Consequently I am in the process of tuning the parameters of the PID to have less aggressive variation of difficulty for then the ratio between easy and hard difficulty block will be less than one hundred as it is actually, limiting the impact of higher and lower difficulty and hopefully smoothing the block distribution. The community will be updated when I will be satisfied with the new parameters. CS
Thank you for the detailed summary and analysis!

Let's try to keep it down to 2x monthly, people. Slow and steady wins the race.
In a perfect world price increases would always be linear, but unfortunately that never happens. HODLing instead of trading frequently is probably the best option for most people.

Monero 0.9.4 released!! https://getmonero.org/2016/04/02/monero-0.9.4-released.htmlSUMMARY OF CHANGES This has important bug fixes to 0.9.3 Hydrogen Helix Fix remaining issues with coinbase transactions Removed connectivity_tool Switched to new Clang move diagnostics Added a new --generate-from-json flag to simplewallet to allow wallet creation from a JSON file Add a new and improved version of sweep_dust Various bug fixes to handle failures such as map resize failures and bad simplewallet exit[/li][/list] For those using 0.9.3 now is there any benefit to sync again from scratch? Or can the existing blockchain be used with 0.9.4 with the exact same results?

I like the MAAM tradition. It encourages people to ask question and learn.

For those freaking out about the price and buy and sell walls, I recommend not logging into the exchange so much. Instead look at GitHub and evaluate progress there instead.

I took an informal branding poll of some friends today asking about names of popular coins (I excluded Bitcoin and a few other names they may have recognized). Aeon was the favorite name from the coins I mentioned.
I am really happy with both our name and logo.

Lets continue to suppress counterplay. White cannot defend f3, b4 and a2 forever.

Let me tell u the real problem with XMR.
its the devs, they dont work hard enough to make this wonderful coin succeed im waiting for 2 years for an GUI wallet not that i cant run a simplewallet !!!
its about adoption we need a GUI to go mainstream but the devs are taking it easy lets wait another year or maybe 3 years fk it im out for now
XMR has a great dev team. They have done a lot of work in the past few years. It is all about priorities: https://getmonero.org/design-goals/

Most reputable alts (DOGE being a notable exception) have a 3 character symbol. Don't buck the trend and switch to 4 characters
Keep GMC and forget the GAME idea
